While we were holding out on the slim chance that Bethesda might reveal a teaser for the next instalment in its The Elder Scrolls saga last night, it seems our hopes have been crushed even further. Bethesda head Todd Howard had the chance to speak with Geoff Keighley and addressed the question that's been on everyone's minds, saying that "we actually have two other large projects we're also doing that are bigger than anything we've done. People will probably hear about those probably even before Elder Scrolls VI. And that'll make sense many years from now."
He teases that many of the ideas and aspirations it has for a sixth Elder Scrolls simply aren't feasible with current hardware and technology limitations, so we'd venture to guess that it'll be sitting on the backburner for what might just be a decade. How long do you think that we'll be waiting before we hear anything? Will the recently announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition be able to hold you off for a couple years? Shout out with your Thu'um in frustration down in the comments section below.

That's code for we don't want to kill Elder Scrolls Online.
I'm fine with this. It sounds like they've got some other things up their sleeves for now and I'm sure they'll be epic. I'd rather get the next ES installment when the time is right for Bethesda than have them force it on hardware that can't fully support it COUGH-SkyrimPS3-COUGH.
Elder Scrolls Online is a decent game and should be played by a lot more people. Its getting a lot of regular expansions.and support I do not mind how long we wait for another Elder Scrolls game when the time is right it will arrive. Personally I did not have issues with how it ran on the PS3 and put over 200 hours into it.
@dryrain Skyrim was a great game but we have to be honest it was a mess thats for sure. It took ages to fix so we could get the last DLC. And if it was a small developer they would have been nailed to the wall.
So lame.... But whatever I guess. Skyrim Special Edition should be able to hold me over for awhile I guess, plus Fallout 4 will be getting more content.
@JesWood13 Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 will be enough for me for the next few years I suppose. Unless they support uploading old PS3 saves to the PS4, I'll start Skyrim anew. The fact that they are releasing a remastered version for PS4 is the best thing I've seen out of E3 so far, well that and the new Quake sounds interesting.
Its a shame, as the ES games are among my favourites, but hopefully Their other 'projects' will be equally interesting. Also, with the Witcher 3 being such a huge game, I don't feel the need to jump into another MRPG that quickly.
I figured we'd be in for a long wait on the next ES. I don't mind, we'll see it eventually.
Maybe they can use the time to create a new engine. Creation is starting to get a little long in the tooth.
