Hell i've been wrong before, maybe this whole mess will be a good thing for everyone including the console folk.

Gaming is an expensive hobby. Great games with high production values cost a lot to be made. That money needs to be made back. Competition makes games better. If there was no competition, there would be no reason to deliver better games.

Removing exclusives from the scene gives less reason to aim for the highest quality for games if you don't have a console to sell.

You can see where it lead for MS compared to PlayStation and Nintendo.

Everybody gets to play those games...It all sounds wonderful. but the reality of videogame socialism is that everybody might be able to play, but everybody ends up with mediocre games.

Again for reference look at Microsofts last 10 or so years of games.

Most of those videos, are using second hand parts. We can use the same philosophy with consoles. Just as PC parts get cheaper over the years, same is with consoles (especially second hand parts).

For example i doubt i can find PC setup for 97$ as a used PS4 i've seen 2 weeks ago.

Also a word of an advice, don't generalize people you don't know about unless you want to end up looking like an arrogant c*nt.

Console hardware is a simple piece PCB in SOC architecture where all CPU/GPU/Memory are glued together, it operates nothing like a household PC, smarter architecture aside, the most "powerful" element of console is their constantly updated framework/SDK provided by first party's R&D team while PC development is always restricted by Microsoft tools and GPU manufacture's driver.

tl;dr All the power is in the wrong place for the PC-s.The API drives are restricted by both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, something that is not the case for consoles.

@SaikoWaifu2003 Don't know where you are pulling your info mate. You can't find any piece of HW even 7 years down the line, that has the same price-per-performance as PS4 or XboxOne. Some things like the API make PC lag behind in that department.

But price-per-performance wise consoles are still the king, even on paper.

But to tell you the truth, the only real difference between the consoles and PC-s are the mods.

The rest (unless you suffer from Res/FPS OCD) are quite unnoticeable/minor differences.

I'll most likely still stick to Playstation, since it's a better option for me financially among other things.

@Col_McCafferty It makes you sad for the same reasons it will make most hardcore Playstation enthusiast sad. The Playstation world just seems more...empty?

While i can't say that this is ''the end of the consoles'' it certainly is not filling me with confidence that this will be a good thing for console gaming.

Always remember, time spent on PC game development is less funding and time spent on console game development.

It may sound selfish to some people, but it what it is.

The only good side of this sorry mess, is at least more people will get to play the game...tho it will give those PC Master Race guys more ammo.

@Flaming_Kaiser I will have fun, with countless of other games released in the mean time.

While Playstation losing exclusives probably won't be negative early on (Playstation 5 will sell like hotcakes), it is definately a two edged sword in a long run.

Personally i'll stick to Playstation, it's cheaper, can use the second-hand market for cheap deals on games, can game-share with friends both digitally and physically, it has better price-per-performance ratio in comparison to PC.

But, it is also quite possible that Playstation 5 might be my last console, if things are heading where i think they are heading.

@AhmadSumadi Yup, them female vocals were perfect, still listen to it ocasionally (especially Skellige soundtrack).

Tho i liked the game and it's dlc, i unfortunately never achieved the same love as some fans have for the game.

And despite the gripes i have for the game, i have to admit It certainly set a standard for open-world design and side-quests narrative.

Pretty good list overall, among the mentioned games i'm very much excited for Wasteland 3 and Mount and Blade; Bannerlord.

Almost ashamed to admit, but after finishing up Days Gone and AC:Odyssey, i went back to God Of War again....accumulating well over 500 hours on it...just love that game too much.

I'm actually surprised, i'm usually someone that prefered those black designs PS3 had... but i ended up liking that white design, it just seems like a nice change.

Would also add Uncharted 4 to do list.

But overall i think it's a good list.

Days Gone might be one of the more underrated games this gen IMO.

Well i've read crazier claims like SONY/Microsoft buying Take-Two Interactive, or even better... Microsot buying out Sony.

@Grindagger Hey thru the past 18 years i've seen much weirder choices...from World of Warcraft winning goty over MGS3 back in 2004 to games like Overwatch/PUBG being nominated and winning GOTY-s.

(Thankfully on the last one Uncharted 4 came out as the ultimate GOTY winner.)

@OneManDroid Haven't played judgement, but if you can get pass the corny dialogue, somewhat clunky controls and Ubisoft open world formula, you will like Days Gone.

The game has a LOT of untapped potential, and considering this is the first big AAA game from Sony Bend studio, i can't wait to see the sequel.

In lot of ways it reminds me of Horizon:Zero Dawn, that also had corny dialogue and Ubisoft open world formula, but by the gods the gameplay and the machines were top-notch... and surprise surprise it was also the first dive into the open world games for Guerilla Games.

So if you like Horizon:Zero Dawn, it's very likely you will like Days Gone. Tho i do believe the game was somewhat butchered by the reviews.

Don't get me wrong i love Uncharted games, but lets be real here, those games are usualy on sale for 10 bucks and sometimes lower.

Really dissapointed with these last two months, that should have had a much better offer.

One of the generation defining games for me personally.

In a world where most of the good developers just play it safe and have little to no innovations in their successful games, it is really a breath of fresh air.
