@Genrou You speak a lot about how broken MW 2 about yet you only mentioned two things;
-Infinite Noobtube-ing, something that is still present in todays Modern Warfare, along with other issues connected to that
-Second chance; Also present in modern COD games
Give me a break, Modern Warfare 2 is still one of the most popular and most highly regarded Multiplayer FPS games for a reason, nostalgia has nothing to do with the fact that every COD after that was going downwards in quality in both Singleplayer and Multiplayer.
If you trully want to look for broken things in Modern Warfare 2, then look no further than Akimbo M1887. Now that sh*t was trully beyond broken, that people joke about it to this day.
@Athrum In my country (Croatia) it's even worse. The minimum wage for a lot of folk is around 510€, that is one of the reasons why you see a LOT of young adults going outside of the country (and even outside Europe in general) to work, myself included.
@beavis64 Ridiculous notion to you, not me and i'm not glossing over anything, infact i'm quite serious and direct when it comes to the terminology i use in these kinds of conversations/discussions.
It's another matter entirely if you don't understand idioms (tho i doubt that, every grown person uses them almost on a daily basis).
And no need to quote me and/or question my memory directly or indirectly. My memory completely fine, which is quite unfortunate since i doubt i will be forgetting this quite unnecessary conversation anytime soon.
@beavis64 And i can't believe you never seen the terms such as ''slavery'',''slave-over'',''working like a slave'' (...) being used as idioms
For example, we are all slaves of the financial system: born into it, without many chances to escape, we give our liberty away for the dollar/euro/pounds/etc. For the piece of paper with a number printed on it.
@naruball Indeed, it does depend on the work itself and i may or may not have a bit harsh perspective when it comes to what i consider ''fair work-fair pay'', but that is quite relative to ones life experiances.
Most of administrative and education professions are one of the most underpaid and underappreciated professions in general.
I'm in the merchant-navy myself, a profession that average person works for about 10-15 years (not including apprenticeship) before quitting it. Some people would say we have exceptional pay and life standards, but it's far from the truth.
Hell, the US and even parts of UK law, have in some instances (technically) classified people of my profession unfit for ANY court related disscussions/statements, cuz we spend 4-8 months at sea per year...
Not part of this disscussion, but that is not work, that is plain slavery.
Even when i was working as an apprentice for 8-16 hours a day, i had round 1200 euros a month, and even that was arguable whether or not was a decent pay for the sort of work we did.
Hell at this point i would not be surprised if they trully do put both Ghost Recon and Division 2 on PS Plus ''Free'' games offer, using those games as bait for users to buy the dlc-s connected to those games.
We saw a somewhat similar situation with Destiny 2.
Shame it had a really dissapointing ending Banner Saga 3.
But, the journey itself, gameplay challenge and hair-pulling choices was suprisingly good since it's a first delve into this kind of genre from the former Infinity Ward devs.
Also that art-style...man, i wish more Turn-based/strategy games were like this.
@Dr_Derp Unfortunately, it is very likely most games will just run at PS4/PS4PRO settings, so there won't be any updated textures/patch updates unless a developer does it.
Honestly, people are/were expecting much more from PS5 B/C with PS4, especially after the patent ''remastering by emulation'' was made public.
Patent mentioned things like better textures/LOD, better draw distances and NPC count on screen in open-world games, HDR, higher resolutions like native 4K and most importantly 60+FPS.
Now we will be able to play them again at PS4/PS4Pro settings, (if these games are lucky enough to be on the top played games list) at shorter loading screens...briliant.
Shame really, PS5 could have been much much more in those regards instead they are doing the same thing like Microsofts Xbox (only they actually have confirmation that older games will get HDR,higher res, raytracing and 60+FPS)...
Really dissapointed, now i almost have no doubts PS5 will likely not be my next console unless they pull of some miracle... and no price and exclusives (that will eventually end up on PC) are not things that will change my mind at this point.
Well even tho i disapprove most of what i saw in recent months from Sony/Playstation, even i have to admit those SSD speeds are quite crazy...
And for those concerned, No the flop difference will not a make a huge difference. However, expect XSX to have ''higher pixel count'' while Playstation has better performance.
The dissapointing thing is about the lack of proper FULL B/C with PS4 (meaning some games might not get the B/C with PS5) and lack of PS1-PS3 B/C. Hell it is quite probable those games will run at PS4 setting from what was presented.
@Deadhunter While the game certainly had mediocre writing and abysmall filler side-quest (and some main quest), the world was fun to explore and gameplay was decent enough (still better than The Witcher 3 one at least).
Tho the fact it has ''Assassins Creed'' tittle in it, while it has almost nothing to do with the series itself, is probably my main gripe with the game.
I swear, judging by most games on rankings like this one, i wouldn't be surprised if i start to see Call Of Duty, Fifa or even Rockstar games...no offense ofc.
Maybe i'm just bit too nostalgic for old Baldurs Gate and Morrowind RPG days...
i could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and excrete a smarter and certainly more original insult, than that. But then again, maybe originality is not your strong suit, since you are so easy to follow the PCMasterrace banter.
Putting that ''statement'' behind...
Gaps can be narrowed at the start of the gen but everything will widen again.
That gap is getting smaller at the start, and by default so will the later stages in comparison to previous gens. Hell there will even come a time 10+ years from today, when graphics and FPS will be nearly indistinguishable from one another...but that's the streaming era that i hope will not come soon.
How are the multiplats on the PS4 still holding up? Are you telling me that games released in the past two years have 'narrowing differences' with those on the PC?
Make that last 3-4 years, and no the gap is not certainly getting smaller for this gen, but it is maintaining it balance to a degree. As for how the multiplats are holding up, the uncompressed screenshots and videos on DF speak for themselves. Again the difference is there, but by no means huge.
Also you did not answer my question...
Perhaps because you have edited your response?
{...} if consoles are already offering so much, why do you still feel the need to hold onto exclusives?
I could name a couple of reasons, but in this case i like to use one:
Exclusives always use the consoles fullest potential, and are in most cases the innovation tech-level leaders in gaming industry. Making them mutliplats, will most certainly diminish that long term, since it means less budget and especially less time for developers to push the same level of quality on multiple platforms, instead of one. Which ties into your next statement...
I hope all PC exclusives go to the PS4 as well as all the other consoles tomorrow. Can you say the same thing about your precious exclusives going to PC?
I absolutely can not say the same thing. I can name you maybe 1 or two (RTS) PC games exclusives in last 8 years that i would like to come to consoles, but even those are not the same high caliber as the Playstation exclusives, and trust me if there were the same sort of high quality exclusives on PC, i would have not be gaming mainly on consoles for the past 20+ years. A sentiment many console gamers share.
If not I think I know what you really think deep down, and I think it's clear who "have low confidence in their purchase choices" and need to rely on software exclusives to make them want to buy the hardware.
Again, originality is not your strong suit.
Time to listen to my own advice, and go our separate ways. And remember, a person that trully has high confidence in their purchase choices will never so strongly defend it. I most certainly did have high confidence, until these recent Playstation news.
Because you're too used to console graphics so I won't blame you, but when next gen consoles do something like ray tracing you think that Sony just discovered quantum mechanics.
''That gap will get even smaller next gen {...}when in truth they have low confidence in their purchase choices or are infuriated by the fact that people have the same kind of enjoyment on ''inferior machines'' which again pisses them off.''
Drawing distances, LoD, particle effects, shadow quality, foliage, anisotropic filtering, etc etc etc are all things that put PCs aside from consoles.
''...and pisses them off, but still cling to those small near-unnoticable differences, and say PC version is superior experiance (when in truth its almost the same). ''
Yup, textbook.
And no, i experienced even 90+ FPS on some modern games, and by no means makes it an eye sore going back to 60 or 30 FPS. But i also stated ''Besides 60FPS'' meaning that i aknowledge that 60FPS is noticable.
My biggest regret of possibly going back to mainly PC gaming is sharing the same ecosystem with the same PC snobs, (if the worse case scenario does happen).
@JJ2 Time will only tell. It's still a possibility Horizon:Zero dawn (cuz of decima engine) and maybe Dreams will be the only games they will port to PC. If so the damage to the console gaming will be quite minimal long-term.
We shall wait and see how it plays out, tho to my own dissapointment, i changed my mind about PS5 from ''Day one purchase'' to ''I will wait 2-3 years''.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered - FPS Classic Is Worth Revisiting
@gamer_since_83 I know it was fixed, still people make jokes about it.
As for Noob toobs in newest Modern Warfare, that is quite arguable and...you know it.
Re: Gallery: New The Last of Us 2 Screenshots Look Truly Stunning
@hulkie most likely its temporary.
Re: Gallery: New The Last of Us 2 Screenshots Look Truly Stunning

Re: The Last of Us 2 Delayed Again Due to Coronavirus Epidemic
I think it's safe to say, 2020 will go down in history as ''The year of delays and Teraflops''.

@JorbNorb best perks, weapon balances/quantity, ttk-s, maps and most importantly best killstreaks.

Maybe i will get it when its sub 10$, until then it aint worth the price unless you never played it.

@lacerz Yup.

@swagbag713 Not at all. Condescending would be if i stated you had low standards, or that other people had higher standards.
I stated ''different'' standards and ''different'' appreciation towards ones money.
Re: PlayStation Store April Sale Brings Excellent Selection of Deals to Europe and the US
@swagbag713 Different standards and different appreciations towards ones money i guess.

Re: Exclusive: PS5 to Receive Terafloppy Disks, Proprietary Hardware That Will Boost Teraflops Count
@Hengist Fair enough.
Re: PlayStation Store April Sale Brings Excellent Selection of Deals to Europe and the US
@whizzkidd Not saying you should skip it just yet, not all the games that are on sale have been revealed just yet on Playstation Blog.
But, considering there is a chance for a Flash Sale during Easter, i might have to wait aswell.
Re: Exclusive: PS5 to Receive Terafloppy Disks, Proprietary Hardware That Will Boost Teraflops Count
@Hengist By that logic the only trully ''definitive'' confirmation you will get is when non-Sony affiliated folk get their hands on PS5 itself.
SONY statements won't be much different in the coming months, or even near the PS5 launch.
Re: Exclusive: PS5 to Receive Terafloppy Disks, Proprietary Hardware That Will Boost Teraflops Count
@Hengist Well this pretty much confirms it, the question remains ''Within what time period and what kind of enhancements can we expect?''

You had me until ''Terafloppy''...

Hmmm Plague Tale for 20.00$ or Borderlands:Handsome Collection for 15.00$... choices choices
Overall, pretty dissapointing sale just like the March ''Mega'' sale...

@EKO US psn user here, got the same mail myself and i doubt the newsletter would send me sales notification that is only available for EU.
It states up to 50% aswell, nowhere did i see 60%, so it could be a typo on PushSquare part.
As for the Spring sale itself, i don't have high expectations.
Re: Sony Hyping PS Store's Spring Sale, Will Get Underway 1st April
If it's anything like that March ''Mega'' sale, then it's nothing to be hyped about...

Modern Warfare 1 and Modern Warfare 2 are the best in the series, especially MW 2 with its multiplayer.

Many more things could be added.

Doom , Fallout 4 or Plague Tale

@ApostateMage Divinity 2 alone is an easy 100+ hours. Really recommend playing it co-op on second-playtrough if you like it.
Probably the best RPG this gen in terms of gameplay-freedom and difficulty.
