If 100 shards equals 1$, why not charge 1 shard? Why inflate it?
It is a common business tactic for micro transactions to not have the in game currency you buy to buy in game items easily translate to the value of real life money, so people have a hard to knowing how much they are really spending.
I suspect the delays in revealing information on the 1.5 consoles from the console companies is because nobody wants to release their 1.5 console then get one upped by another company who will than make their console slightly more powerful.
For me, the trailer seems to show that the new direction for the God of War reboot fixes some of the problems I had with God of War 1-3, namely, the button mashy combat system, and that Kratos was such a donkey hole that I didn't care about him or his cause.
The other issue I had was the retconning that kept happening in the story between the games, but that's not something that's really addressable in a trailer.
But really, the trailer itself is just really enjoyable to watch, that may be why it has so many views, even if some are artificial.
The only additions I could really ask for from this year's E3 is an actual release date for the PS4K and for Nintendo to actually care about developing and marketing to core gamers again instead of chasing the casuals which are well out of their reach and have been for years (but that's never going to happen).
That's kind of surprising, in the past many companies have chosen to run their E3 Press Conference games on a PC so they can get the game to look as good as possible for the presentation, even if that wasn't actually realistic or possible on any of the consoles. The most famous example in recent memory was Watchdogs 1.
I really like the new direction they are taking God of War.
One of my biggest problems with GoW 1-3 was due to Kratos being such a donkey hole, I basically didn't care about him or his cause.
The spectacle was nice, I enjoy spectacle fighters like the ones Platinum makes, but the combat system was so button mashy. While I'm sure Kratos will eventually get more weapons than just the Ice Axe, I hope none of them are mindless and require meaningful decision from the player.
The combat system in this game looks like what Platinum is good at when they are in their prime, with a "Final Fantasy" aesthetic. I hope it turns out well, and it doesn't suffer from cost or freedom of development restrictions from the publisher, like some of Platinum's other resent projects have.
Atlus has always been extremely against dual audio, I don't know why.
Not that there is anything particularly wrong with their dubs, but they must know that a lot of the audience for the Persona games appreciate the option of having the original voice acting.
While Bethesda releasing games in a broken glitchy mess that is patched over the course of months but in the end never actually completely fixed as Bethesda plain gives up on it is nothing new, it doesn't make it more acceptable, but fortunately for Bethesda, they often get a pass on it for some reason.
It's one of the reasons I buy Bethesda games on PC, and don't buy Bethesda games at launch, to wait for the patches, both official and unofficial (made by fans and modders picking up Bethesda's slack), and the console commands on the PC versions can be used to bypass bugs as well (which I've had to use more than once in the past with Bethesda games).
But one of the most enjoyable things about Bethesda games for me are the mods so I would have purchased it on PC anyway.
Glad this was called out, all too often in the games industry everybody is in each other's pockets and work together to cover up things that could generate bad press.
Although with Konami's change to a mobile game and gambling machine company they have little to offer anymore.
I know the game's theme is time travel but if you keep bringing back the same dead character the character's death loses its meaning.
Wow, Chloe didn't really die? Again? What a shock! Not really, because the story has already made it clear that Chloe has impenetrable plot armor.
I think it would be a lot cooler if they let Chloe die and Max would than continue on the game with another person, for example, in the time line where she and Victoria are friends. As it is it feels like despite the game showing Max's powers have limitations, she has yet faced consequences for anything.
I don't have a problem with games that are story driven, I'm okay with visual novels, my problem with The Order: 1886 is that the story in The Order: 1886 is terrible and breaks willing suspension of disbelief all over the place with many characters making unreasonable decisions, and the game doesn't even have a conclusion and leaves open many questions intentionally because it doesn't have an end, it just sets up for either DLC or a sequel, likely both.
Escort missions are terrible. A good AI partner can make a game much better, but helpless escorts which hold you back or at times are literally running to their doom as you try to protect them are horrible.
Insta-fail espionage is as mentioned, usually a problem when developers try to have a stealth level in a game that was never designed for Stealth, and as such the Steath is horrible which is why instant fails are annoying. As someone who enjoys stealth games, I usually try for 0 detection anyway.
It's probably going to be some short stories as mentioned in the article.
Also I kind of felt Season 2 was a let down compared to Season 1, because there was no "discovery" of anything by the characters, and Clementine basically always knows what's what.
I see Chun Li, and I assume other female characters, still have giant hands in Street Fighter 5, although it's not as bad as Street Fighter 4.
Also, I don't know why there are so much accusations of Sony paying for an exclusivity deal, if you missed it Street Fighter 5 is also going to be on PC. Yes, PC exists, it's a thing. And while a "console limited" exclusivity deal isn't impossible, it's extremely rare.
All I can say is I'm glad most game developers and producers have stopped fighting against Youtube and Twitch and have embraced it instead, well, except Nintendo. Nintendo is still fighting against it.
Also, Totalbisuit is one of the few reviewers I still trust to give me a fair opinion on a game, with nearly the whole gaming journalism industry embroiled in conflict of interest issues and extreme bias for multiple reasons, and apparently also pushing SJW issues as click bait (and for much more nefarious reasons).
Even though I enjoyed The Walking Dead game I would never have noticed if I walked by Clementine's house, it's a pretty normal looking house and there is 1 scene there.
I know it's a horror game, but as someone who likes good stories I can't stand how Corpse Party constantly has things happening "because horror" and really for no other reason. It's not that I have a problem with fiction, but when bad things are happening in Corpse Party you clearly understand "it's happening because it's a horror game" and not for any other reason, certainly not one the game explains to you. Your decisions don't really make a difference other than seeing different bad endings, as there is no good ending.
Corpse Party certainly is not unique in this writing technique for horror but I guess it's because I can't accept "horror" as an explanation for events that I've never been a fan of most horror genre media in general.
Err... in Infamous 1 your decisions literally didn't make a difference other than the powers you have. The result was exactly the same no matter what you choose.
And in Infamous 2 the only real difference was the ending.
And in both games the "good" powers were always better than the "bad" powers.
I really hope there is more of a difference this time depending on your choices. Also, as a stickler for stories making sense, I have to say there is quite a disconnect between the story of the 1st game and the 2nd game which makes the plot of the 2nd game not make sense as to why it's happening.
I feel like the PS4 will dominate heavily in part because Nintendo and Microsoft screwed up badly on the home console front.
PS4's biggest flaw is the new yearly fee for multiplayer (which the 360 had already). Other than that it's just an upgraded PS3 that's better than the Xbone hardware wise, and cheaper.
Xbone was built with heavy DRM in mind and spies on you. Microsoft had as much understanding of its customers as when it made Windows 8 tablet based but not satisfied there they intentionally removed mouse friendly features and every time you try to do something it tries to direct you to a tablet function. Windows 8 could have easily done both as 3rd party programs allow you to do to an extent, but they just decided they didn't want to for some reason and wanted to try to force everyone to adapt tablet controls. Giving customers options "bad"? Or maybe they thought they had such an iron grip on their user base they could screw them over and they would just take it with a smile.
The Wii U faults on simply inferior hardware to keep up with the the PS4 or the Xbone as well as a lack hardcore fan targeted software which resulted in lack of customer or developer support. Supposed console sellers like Bayonetta 2 or Smash STILL have no release date. Nintendo has regressed to desperetely advertising the Wii U to the casual market which made them a fortune off of the Wii, but the casual market has moved on to smartphones and tablets and they aren't coming back to consoles. I don't know about other games, but Call of Duty: Ghosts in particular, the 50GB install is totally unwarranted based on the graphics. Battlefield 4 is 35GB (still not great but) but the graphics are there. Ghosts is 50GB but the game looks the same as it ever did.
Glad to see this site didn't cave and give Ghosts a good score because Activision hands out advertisement money.
Ghosts is not just a bad game from the perspective of how stagnant the series is getting, it's a bad game compared to other CoD games.

Still waiting on Phanatasy Star Online 2 Sega. WTF is with the silence. At least tell people where you are with it, or that you are cancelling the localizations as you've decided you don't like money from anyone but Japanese people like with a bunch of your other games that isn't Sonic.
This review says parrying is a problem like many others. I would like to point something out, the tutorial for this game when it comes to Blade Mode and Parrying is TERRIBLE, and the game in general does little to teach you how to play the game properly. I had to look up a FAQ to understand what the controls actually were and how to use them, but once I did, the game became fantastic. 1st thing to note about the parry, you must press in the direction of the attack, let the stick return to neutral, move it in the direction of attacks again for EVERY SINGLE ATTACK, you cannot hold in the direction of the attacks and mash light attack. Another thing, the game does little to explain the most efficient way to aim Blade Mode, when the controls are actually intuitive, they are not explained well (or ever as far as I'm aware). The best way to do it is to target with left stick and use square and triangle to slice, which is accurate and fun. Before I looked up a FAQ on the controls I was trying to aim and slice with the right stick, which is terrible. And about parrying being poor as a result of attempting to simplify controls by linking it to the attack button, as many reviews have claimed, in my opinion this was not done to simplify the controls, but rather, to remove the mashable invincible "roll" so many other action games (like God of War) have. The idea is to force the player to pay attention to where the attack is and actually have to pay attention to where the attack is coming from to parry, and NOT be able to mash parry when you just feel you are in danger, and have an attack come out instead if you try, leaving you vulnerable ON PURPOSE if you didn't specifically mean to parry in specific direction. Like I said, the game itself explains how to use parry properly VERY POORLY, but the system works very well one you learn it. And the game actually DOES have a roll that can be used in multiple directions (which the game one again never explains how to do properly and it's explained nowhere in game that the roll can be used in more then 1 direction, which I once again had to look up online and why i assume most people don't know Defensive Offensive IS the roll), it's one of the 1st things you can purchase for cheap in the shop Defensive Offensive, but it's NOT spammable on purpose, and while it has invincibility, you must still at times pay attention to the direction of the attack to dodge properly depending on the attack and dodge in a direction the attack isn't or you will still get hit by certain attacks. Another thing the game doesn't explain and I had to look up in a FAQ, different colors of attacks represent if they are parryable or not or if you must avoid them. This is meant for you to use Defensive Offensive, Parry, and Ninja Run in conjunction to properly avoid attacks, and NOT have the ability to mash some mindless invincible move to use in every situation.
Pretty sure Namco announced they do not believe in and will not sell on disk DLC after the Street Fighter x Tekken fiasco of Capcom selling 1/3 of the entire game that was already on the disk as DLC. Let's see if they hold up to their word.
Hyperdimension Neptunia would have been better and more immersive if it wasn't so clear the developers are forcing the moral on you that "piracy is evil". What could have been a fun parody of a game they instead turned it into a PSA.
So wait, if you decided to tell Clementine to take the supplies she becomes gangsta? (If you played the game you will understand the reference to the picture)
In the time Revengeance takes place, I believe 9 years after MGS4, Snake should be dead. So playing as Snake would mean the DLC takes place soon after MGS4 ends, or a massive plot twist where Snake has found a way to stave off death and permanently get rid of foxdie.
Notably less excited after discovering Namco choose to cut costs by not including Japanese voices with English subtitles for Tales of Graces f for American release.
My opinion is Bioware and EA had already planned to sell an alternate ending as DLC in the 1s place and made the ending terrible on purpose so people would badly want to have another ending, even if it meant paying for one.

Re: E3 2016: What Was That Death Stranding Trailer About?
I don't think there is a point to over analyzing a Kojima trailer for a game concept.
I think the main purpose of this trailer was to shock and confuse people first and foremost, and to that end it was a massive success.
Kojima also just really likes putting naked men in his games, it's like his trademark.
