I've been playing Outer Worlds since it dropped on Friday, I need to have a break so people don't worry about me...
This is what Fallout 4 should have been. All systems streamlined and some elegant solutions to series-long problems (the inhaler for health is fantastic - I can see a lot of other games taking this mechanic in future - no more inhaling 20 bread and 20 tomatoes mid-combat!).
There are times it feels like Fallout, sometimes like Mass Effect, and occasionally like Bioshock.
Recently replayed it on Switch, and the reworking of the doubt/lie/truth thing into good cop/bad cop really worked for me. Enjoyed it much more than back in the day and even ended up finishing it this time. If the updated interrogation mechanic is in this, I'm definitely interested
It's £25 on the ps store til April 4th, and it's pay day tomorrow. Got it on 360, PS3 and handsome collection on PS4. Well done gearbox, not many games get a quadruple-dip, but you've managed it!
I've got a good feeling about E3 announcements both in and out of the official show. If I were to make a wild speculation, let's have Cyberpunk released at the show, and PS5 for holiday/Xmas 2019.... If only!
Ugh, shovelware from nearly a decade ago. Farmville and candy crush vr next. I suppose this means that PSVR can be officially considered a resounding success if Devs are publishing this kind of cash-grab nonsense on the platform?
9 and 11 are the only ones I've never tried. I'll probably never have a go on 11 at this point, (because 14), although I think I fooled around with the character creation at some point.... 9 is the big blind spot for me, and I know that it is rated highly. Looks like the switch tax isn't too bad on this one (some of the others coming our recently/soon are frankly shocking), so I'll probably get it there as it will have more chance of getting played while I'm away. 6 (or 7....) FTW
First ever platinum, and got the download too. I thought it was interesting how it automatically changed my avatar icon when I first booted the game, seems like it did that to lots of people on my friend list too. Was going to switch back to goro mashima when I could be bothered, but will check the Spiderman download too. If people are interested, you get loads of avatar icons for just playing Yakuza zero. One of the other consoles (the one based on the 24th letter of the alphabet) used to give you things for completing games, like hats and t-shirts for your avatar. Haven't checked it for years, but last I looked, it was rocking a white suit from red dead 1, a portal gun and a mask from From Dust, all free for completing the relative games.
Lol, love how mild use of profanity gets heavily stepped on by mods around here with the justification that 'it's a family friendly site', and then this is all just fine..... I don't care either way, you should just have some consistency and stick to your own standards (For the record, I think this article is funny, and moderation should be softer than it usually is)
Superman would only really work in a Justice League game, where you would only be able to use him at certain times (to avoid the 'superman loses his powers' trope). Hope it's a game about Batman recruiting the Justice League
I don't know why I read the headline as 'edible player character'..... Really looking forward to this one, the fiction is amazing and reminds me of the TMNT/after the bomb pen & paper RPG by Palladium Games that I used to play as a wee laddio. Especially since so many of the big hitters this season have been somewhat disappointing....
Bought iconoclasts in a summer sale and it's great. Papers on the vita will be fun too, hopefully using touch screen can help to shave off a few precious seconds while processing documents!
@Tasuki well as long as you're ok, right? Maybe people are 'crying' (pffft, so reductive) because the Fallout game they wanted was one without bugs. To be honest, even if it were bug free, it looks like there are serious issues with core gameplay mechanics. Bases not aligning with terrain, shonky combat, miniscule carry capacity, anaemic pvp. Some of these things have been sketchy in Bethesda games for years, and in F76 it seems as though they are the same or worse. Even Bethesda accept these issues (you don't release 50gb patches and slash the price of games that are functioning well) to some degree.
You're perfectly welcome to enjoy whatever janky trash you want, it's your money after all, just don't understand why you have to trash talk others for raising valid, repeatable and proven problems with a product that is objectively substandard.
Yeah, not really for me but hopefully some will get a kick out of it. I've got most of the games that I want from that list on one format or another, and if I wanted to pick up the others it wouldn't make sense to buy this to get them. Besides, I put the disc for GTA in my PS3 recently and thought I was gonna have some retro fun on my 45 inch telly. Turned it off after 10 minutes because I felt sick, blind and headachey - and I've never felt even the slightest bit ill from VR....
Thing is, if you're gonna choose to be a badman edgelord, people are gonna react badly to that. Own it and actually not give a **** rather than cry about it when people chuck it back at you. Or try being friendly to people if you want them to be nice back to you.
Have CA still got the licence to make Alien games? If they have, it seems a waste to not use it.... Also if they're doing another Alien game, I hope they try to catch the vibe of the second film, in the way that Isolation captured the atmosphere of the first film (perhaps in a tactical shooter....)
When did this become such a US focused site that prices don't even get mentioned in pounds any more? Anyway I just jumped in to VR - £195 for the bundle with VR worlds and camera. Got farpoint and the newer gun game with aim controller too. Waiting by the front door til delivery...
Great. ROM and Laser League were on my radar, and I've convinced myself not to buy Friday 13 several times (I think I'd enjoy it, but heard it's a bit janky and servers are dead, so avoided).
Still suspect. Professional PR companies working on a multi million (pound?dollar?yen?) release don't make 'tick box mistakes'. This stinks of a battlefront style backtrack to me. Buyer beware.
Integrate all D1 content into D2 (as it should have been anyway) and I'll be interested. I really want to like this game, waiting for a price drop to pick up the dlc, by which point I'll be seriously under-levelled and have to solo play up to power cap... There is a cracking game there somewhere underneath all the weird decisions, cash grabs and player base divisions, I hope it will all come together at some point.
Bioware hasn't been Bioware for a long time. Hate to say it, but the last proper Bioware game was Mass Effect 2, and the glory days of Baldur's Gate/Kotor/Jade Empire are long gone
@Rudy_Manchego In the final stages the QTEs are like the relief/rest phases. Just going in for round 3 with the big Z 😲😵 I'm not even enjoying it any more, I'm just too close to the end to quit. Having said that, it was a brilliant game.
@Rudy_Manchego I smashed through most of it on Sunday. Final Boss can do one though, just had another try this afternoon. Might have one more go later, but that's it. In fact it all gets a bit tasty towards the end...

@FinneasGH So all Europeans think alike, and you speak for all of us? Transatlantic sneering is so lazy.
Me and my bredren will both be downloading MLB, heard it is pretty good.
Got TLoU on PS3, have been hoping for the remaster on plus for most of this gen. Cheers Sony! Now i'm just waiting on The Order 1886...

Looks great but I'm sick of buying controllers. Is it just me or does battery life significantly drop off after approx. 2 years?
Re: Rumour: Lady Gaga Will Be in Cyberpunk 2077, Apparently
Apt. A lot of her music sounds like robots marching music. Not a criticism, a genuine observation. Don't care enough about her personally either way.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi nice one fella.
So some daddy-daughter smash each other in the head with swords days are on the cards. Shame about Tira, though.
