I think your mum may have been on to something actually....Just sitting there watching Lara go up and down the ladder, eh? Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink. Say no more 😉

If anyone thinks that Quiet = Sexist Kojima, then they obviously never played the latter stages of MGS 2!

Re: Talking Point: Are 'Live Games' Really What You Want on PS4?

CountFunkula78

Live games themselves are not so much of a concern, more who decides when and how the servers get turned off, especially on console. How long til we just can't play destiny any more and have to upgrade to 2? For Honor has its open beta this weekend. You could pay full price for it next week and they could potentially shut the whole thing off in a month (they won't) if it all goes wrong.

@Matroska
'Hopefully this game won't have you suplexing enemies, somersaulting through closed windows and dodging laser beams with QTEs.'

Harsh but true.
I'm not sure on the whole 'dead crow in a cooking pot'/Texas chainsaw massacre vibe, but other than that I thought the demo looked promising. Those mannequins....

Aaargh! Sqeenix numbering systems! KH 2.8? Really? I'm not a fan of that series, but was there a 2.6 and 2.7, and are you expecting a 2.9 before 3? Don't get me started on FF naming convention (or absolute lack thereof). Watch out Tomb Raider and Deus Ex, you're next.....
In their defence, they seem to put out sensibly titled Dragon Quests.

GTA 3, vice city and San Andreas were PS exclusive for ages (as were GTA 1 & 2, but they don't really count)
Also vice city/liberty city stories on PSP.
RDR is their 2nd string series, and would be perfect for this. R* would not lose out, they'd get a tonne of money from PS for exclusivity (also a sound investment for PS for all the cash from being market leader this gen), and then more money when it came out on PC/xone/s*itch.
Publishers don't lose out from timed exclusives. Otherwise, why do it?

Anyway, I've made it seem that I'm more invested in that prediction than I really am, but I think it's more likely than 0.1%!

Good for Hello, good for players. Hope this is sign of things to come.
Is it just me though, or did anyone else have a little voice in the back of their head saying 'yeah, bull' during that video?
I think I'll personally have to wait and see....

I was glad I supported it at launch, got a few days of fun out of it. Also glad that I traded it in for Overwatch.
I hope they do something with the cash they've got to make it worth another look at some point.
Unfortunately, the way they keep referring to 'our small team', etc is starting to sound like excuses - hire some more staff, you sold millions of copies!!

Re: Soapbox: Skyrim Still Has Plenty to Offer Five Years On

Interesting and valid comparison, but you can trace it back further.
I seem to remember Skyrim, Witcher 2 and Dark Souls all releasing very close to each other and all being fantasy style RPGs, but all being fairly different enough if you are an RPG fan.
I love all three games, but these series have all become notably divergent examples (trendsetters, even) in the genre.
Up until the rerelease I felt Skyrim (and to a certain extent the whole Bethesda template) had aged quite badly. I even stopped playing Skyrim a few years ago as the graphical standard on 360 made me sad, and the technical problems on ps3 made me annoyed. I'm playing it on PC now, and it's the game I always hoped it would be in my mind. It feels as though it's complete (only took 5 years and 3 purchases....). If I could wish for one more thing, co-op would totally blow my mind.

Having said that, in a post Witcher 3 world, Bethesda really needs to raise their game for whatever comes next (combat is still woefully janky if I'm honest).Fallout 4 wasn't all I hoped it would be - and I played it before I got around to Witcher 3!
