Devolver Digital has announced Baby Steps won't be releasing on PS5 until 2025, as part of its comical Delayed Awards livestream. The game, which is inspired by the recent trend of titles that are purposefully hard to control (think Chained Together and Getting Over It), sees you play as a man baby taking his first steps out into the world after a lonely life of unemployed isolation.
Baby Steps was originally announced during the summer season last year, and was supposed to be out for PS5 this year. It'll now launch in 2025 along with Skate Story and Stick it to the Stickman, though the other two aren't slated to come to PS5 yet. You can catch a reminder of what Baby Steps is in the trailer above.
"Play as Nate, an unemployed failson with nothing going for him, until one day he discovers a power he never knew he had… putting one foot in front of the other," the PS Store listing teases. "Explore a world shrouded in mist, one step at a time. Hike the serene mountains by placing each footstep yourself, in original physics-based gameplay from the minds behind Ape Out and Getting Over It."
Are you looking forward to putting one foot in front of the other next year? Have a practise in the comments below.

Wonder how this will turn out, seems like it actually could be fun. So absurd, it made me chuckle
This can be very funny to watch but very frustrating to play yourself. Looks wacky enough to give it a go though!
I love absurdity for the sake of absurdity. I hope this game finds an audience.
Finally a videogame character I can relate to.
Just what we all need a good giggle in these dark time.
AKA ketamine simulator. Looks fun
I will never understand why some kids never work it's so important to not do nothing all the time. Living at home is not fun but as long as you work and safe or have a life.
This does look like some wacky fun. I will be interested to see how it reviews...
Looks like a good game with a couple of chimays down the throat.
This will either be the funniest game ever or the most frustrating. I’m hoping for funny
@Flaming_Kaiser
You don't need work to have a life. Plenty of stay at home parents, retirees and disabled people still enjoy life, still go out, have hobbies and socialise.
I love that it’s compared to Getting Over It in the article offhandedly considering that the games are literally made by the same person. Bennett Foddy is a legend. Working with Gabe again is cool, I loved Ape Out.
@TruestoryYep Being a stay at home parent is the same as a job though. Also it's a luxury if you have someone that can support you.
If you are retired you have earned your rest and proven your worth to the society, if you are disabled you need to get supported at least that's what I believe in.
Being a young healthy man or woman only hanging around do nothing and leeching of society yeah I'm sorry then you are a bum. Money needs to be made if you want to survive.
