It’s the last weekend of December, which means, somehow, we’ve almost reached the end of the year. How the heck did that happen, huh? Strangely, this year’s release schedule kicks up a notch next week, so there’s no rest for the wicked here at Push Square Towers.
Robert Ramsey
I've been replaying Trails through Daybreak (New Game +, baby!) as my Game of the Year struggle continues. I must admit, Falcom's style of RPG is really hitting the spot, so I'll probably stick with Van and the gang over the weekend.
Sammy Barker
Well, I actually finished Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Can you believe it? The problem is I still want to continue playing, as I enjoyed it so much I'd like to catch all the Sujimon and complete the Animal Crossing minigame. What's wrong with me?
It's a rarely short WAYP this week, but we've been getting over a hundred comments on these almost all year, so don't let us down this time. What are you playing?

This weekend will be quite relaxing
I will be playing some Metal Slug (just trying to pass some levels).
Some Castlevania GBA games from the CV Advance collection.
And for handheld glory I have chosen Metroid Fusion and Pokemon Moon!
Have a nice and relaxing gaming weekend
Finally feeling better so I'm back to playing Baldur's Gate III and have pretty much finished all of Act 1. I'm just making sure I haven't missed anything in the underdark before crossing the ebonlake.
Having a grand old time. I've ended up romancing Karlach who's just an absolute sweetheart. Though Shadowheart was rather tempting too...
Have a good weekend everyone!
Ninja Gaiden
Again not much game time for me this weekend. But I did utilise the black Friday deals, to purchase the complete edition of Midnight Suns. And a great bargain for Still wakes the deep from Amazon. So hopefully will get around to them soon. Happy Gaming All.
Just finishing up Alan Wake 2 (woo! Just got the platinum!) which has some issues but I think it’s the most imaginative AAA game I’ve played in quite a while. Bit more Blasphemous 2 to do the I might have a look at Nine Sols. Gonna take another crack at Lies of P too.
Have a great weekend folks!
Thought I'd try out The Callisto Protocol again for the Pro patch. Finding myself much more absorbed this time around - it's so good!
Surprisingly, I've been using the 30fps "8k" mode (6k supersampled for my 4k TV) and it's absolutely stunning. The 60fps mode with upscaled 4k looks and runs great too but I find the visual design really lends itself to the insanely crisp image, high amount of motion blur and better RT found in the "8k" mode. It's still one of the best-looking games of the generation.
Also picked up Shadows of the Damned remaster and obviously I'm having a whale of a time with it 😁 I've missed that glowy, saturated look of Unreal Engine 3. Delicious.
This past week I managed to watch Fallout and Like a Dragon:Yakuza and loved both. As for my gaming weekend, I’ll still be miserable trying to survive in Stalker 2, while also finally (hopefully) finishing Horizon Forbidden West.
A bit of PSVR2 this weekend, so Crisis Brigade 2 which is basically if Time Crisis was a VR game, Kayak VR and Gran Turismo 7 and maybe a bit of Job/Vacation Simulator
PS5: I'm on my fifth playthrough of Stellar Blade on my quest to pick up the last costumes from the latest patch.
Xbox: I just finished the first Hellblade game for the second time. It still holds up great, despite the weak combat. The story is just too good to be ignored. I'm also close to finishing Fractured But Whole.
Switch: Really enjoying DQ11. A true GOAT type of game. I can't really explain it but it feels right to play now that Christmas is coming up. Maybe its the music.
On Pro Metaphor which I got on sale and Silent Hill 2. On Series X Stalker 2
Mario and Luigi Brothership: It's been great playing a Mario & Luigi game again! The cel-shaded visuals, electricity puns, innovative new Bros. attacks, and of course the story are all top notch.
It's also great that it's a proper length - easily fifty hours. This is right up there with Super Mario RPG and Bowser's Inside Story as one of Mario's greatest RPGs.
I’m gonna try and get the Skull Storm trophy in Inscryption, one of my favorite games. Wish me luck or give me a tip if you’ve done it!
I'm playing Stellar Blade and getting jiggley with it!
I've started Rebirth on the pro, which makes me glad I held off on it for so long. Very nice graphics, if this game caught it's own reflection in a spoon it would say "Wow you're ridiculously good looking". Plays very smooth too, though my eyes have trouble during combat, there's particles, confetti & characters flying all over the place its like mardi gras.
Been a while since I've played anything, it's nice getting back into it.
Gonna have a run through Rise of the Tomb Raider...Can't believe I've not played it yet 🙂
Fallout IV once all the chores are out of the way, maybe a bit of GT7, although I've already ticked off the weekly races. They were definitely a good idea to make sure players keep dipping in.
Gonna do a bit of Vampire Surviving, see where I get to on Road 96 and have just made a start on Spider-Man 2 so quite a mixed bag of games to flit between.
As ever, have a good weekend and happy gaming Square Pushers.
PS5: Yakuza 0 and Dead Space
PSVR2: Resident Evil 4
Dragon age the veilguard and trombone champ on 5pro.
On steam I’m gonna request a refund for a pervert game that I bought during their November sale and ponder how there’s only two good pervert games on PC and one of them is Sims 4.
The Platform 8 on PS5
Perhaps some Dragon Quest 3 on Switch
Stalker 2 and Nine Sols on Xbox
Some mix of that plus Indiana Jones when that comes out and you’ve got my playtime for the rest of the year, maybe with Infinity Nikki added in if I like that one, or my wife and kids do.
Oh, and Balatro on my phone if I don’t have time for anything else!
Only Helldivers for me now until Christmas.
I'm just starting the annual family pub crawl in Wexford Town right now though so I probably won't be playing anything until tomorrow night.
Getting close to wrapping up Trails of Cold Steel 1 on my PS5 wile Phantasy Star 2 keeps me awake on my bedside handheld. 😁
Wish you all a great weekend! 🎮
I have spent a small fortune in the steam sale so will mainly be on the steamdeck this weekend but when I get to PS5 it will be more Dragon Age Veilguard!
Continuing a slow soaking in the sights playthrough of The Last of Us 2 Remastered
Finishing up on Dead Space Remake NG+ run. After that i'll be having a relaxed tour of the Ishimura on impossible mode for the platinum trophy.
I will continued and play one of the best video games ever made in the instant classic fps in the amazing titanfall 2.the graphics.the gameplay.the story.the soundtrack and the boss fights is amazing.and i will be continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the instant classic the incredible nioh 2.incredible gameplay.graphics.story.soundtrack.and boss fights.i will be watching my Pittsburgh Steelers 💛🖤 play.i will watch my boston Celtics 💚🖤 play.and i will be watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.sanford and son.the Jeffersons and saved by the bell.word up son
I don't know! I've just finished Soul Hackers 2, so I'm trying to decide what to play next. I just bought Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, but I might get a refund and just play Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes instead. Customer support isn't open until Monday, so I'm sure I'll give in before then and download it.
Edit: Of course I gave in and downloaded it. I couldn't resist the call of a Dragon Quest game.
I'll also be starting Grounded in co-op. Never used to be a fan of these types of survival games, but I've really enjoyed playing 7 Days to Die - Console Edition and Palworld over the last few months. Even managed to get the plat for Palworld.
Well i bought final fantasy reberith & metaphor, did start final fantasy but was more in the mood for metaphor, only few hours in really enjoying it been off all week watchimg the snooker so only a few hrs gaming every day, been mostly rum & gummies watching the snooker, been a blisfull week of relaxing 😁
Dragon age and Avatar on 5Pro.
Finishing up Hollow Knight. I somehow haven't found The Grimm Troupe DLC so going to hunt that down. Had a little go of the Godmaster stuff but soon gave up on it... I hate boss rushes with a passion (and some of those harder versions of the bosses are just insane!). Next, planning to move on to Metroid Prime 2.
Oh, and Push Square, please don't give me a heart attack by telling me it's the last weekend in December 😂 I'm very easily confused don't you know.
Hello there fellow gamers;
This weekend I´ll probably go back to the amazing Cyberpunk 2077 and finaly play The Phamtom Liberty dlc.
Will also go back to play the also amazing Metaphor Refantazio. One of the best RPGs out there.
I do tend to stop playing games when I get closer to the end. Weird, right?
And will probably play some Street Fighter 6 online.
There are so many games in my backlog, that I don´t even know what to do sometimes. Oh well, not a bad problem to have 😜
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
Dead Island 2 on 4Pro. Finally started this game after downloading it as an Extra game. It looks and plays very well on my 4Pro, however there are long loading times when fast traveling on my old previous gen console.
Those that like zombie games should give it a try. How fun/good is it? I'm about halfway through and so far it is in some ways better and other ways not as good as Dead Island 1 and Riptide, but not even close to the fun factor of the first Dying Light game.
Last week, I think, I took a ludicrous offer of EA Play for a month for about a dollar in my currency.
So, I've been playing (and almost finished) Jedi Survivor. I feel bad about playing this game for a dollar, so I'll pick it up in a sale. It is excellent in many ways. I love the gameplay and graphics. I enjoy the story as well.
I am trying out Immortals of Aveum and Deadspace as well. I am less ashamed of playing them for a dollar. Deadspace is a remake and the other game's devs have already been shuttered, so the damage was already done.
I also got myself a Pulse Elite headset and the PlayStation Portal. Those are pretty good accessories.
Gone back to jeanne d’Arc and pottering around with VR mini golf. Synapse on and off.
Still crawling through a trio of games:
Slitterhead
Metaphor Refantazio
And I was working on Prodeus but have since picked up Nine Sols and now I am itching to keep diving deeper into that.
Playing RE4 remake in VR which is pretty fantastic, eclipsing RE7 VR1 for me whilst it isn’t as scary it is consistent in its quality.
Anyway just completed the second run which was knife and pistol only which was really good fun in VR, dual wielding works great.
Now onto a Pro rocket launcher run.
Still working my through Dragon Age Veilguard and thoroughly enjoying it. Seen about 10 minutes of what some people might complain of as 'woke' conversation in the over 120 hours I've played so far. It's a really fun game.
I had been playing Avatar and still need to finish it, but the recent update has added an annoying shimmer which has stopped me playing it. If you were to believe the ps5 pro haters it's the pro patch to blame, but my wife is also playing it in the same room on an og ps5 and has exactly the same issues. It's a bad patch.
I've also just bought the star wars outlaws game. I was going to wait till it was cheaper, but ps rewards have reinstated taking PSN credit as a reward and I had £15 available from that and I got the usual %14 credit discount buying it elsewhere. Together with the current %25 sale discount, it was cheap enough for me to jump in. Since the last big update it looks great and runs 60hz with no dips, huzzah.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, I hope you have fun 😊
This weekend I’ll be playing Gris on PS5 for the first time. I’m also playing again the Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Series S via Gamepass, after getting the platinums on Playstation a few years ago.
Aside from that, it’ll be the usual: BOPS 6 multiplayer on Series S and I’ve progressed with Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD too. I reckon I’ll get that last one done by next weekend. I might squeeze in a bit of Blood Omen 2 as well, if I have time; I thoroughly enjoyed getting the platinum for the first game!
Wishing everyone a good weekend.
A weekend in the house means lots of gaming. I'm playing Assassin's Creed Mirage, will try to add some Star Wars Outlaws playtime, and Yakuza 5. There are so many options today, that when you finish one or 2 games, a lot more enter the fray. I must control myself ha ha Happy weekend my friends!!
I’m about 60% through Dead Space 3 on Steam Deck, more or less where I stopped playing it back on PS3. I am enjoying it a lot more this time. Obviously inferior to 2 overall, it’s still great. Looks beautiful sometimes, too.
I also picked up the Braid remaster, which I also played back on PS3. Loving that, too!
@EfYI I have subbed to EA play for a month or two too (hence Dead Space 3 and others). Not into Star Wars but I have Jedi downloaded to play.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. This weekend I am determined to finish Visions of Mana and to play more Broship. My gaming time is like a tap that dribbles out tiny droplets of…time. Enjoy your video gaming.
I’m on a IRL side quest of buying ahead of the big day. Aside from that I’m gonna jump onto Mass effect for the first time.
I'm making an effort to get back into Eiyuden Chronicle, I feel like if I leave it any longer I won't finish it. I'm enjoying it more than I was, maybe a break was needed.
Bought a brand new copy of Marvel vs Capcom: Fighting Collection for PS4 and i feel a bit regret. There's not many people playing it and when i got an opponent, either they used Wifi or possibly they live far outside Asia region. Sadly there's no crossplay too so the player pool is very limited.
I was excited with how Max and JWong hype up the collection since i only played a bit of X-Men: CotA, Marvel Super Heroes, and X-Men vs SF at the arcade like eons ago. But i never play any MvC games. Luckily there's The Punisher which i really like but Capcom didn't bother add online co-op 🤦♂️. So i probably gonna put the collection on my shelf after i got most trophies or i'll sell it again and save the money for Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
With MvC online sucks, i'm grinding in SF 6 again. I almost reach MR 1600 with Ed but man...these Akuma's and Bison army are annoying af 😐
Oh well, have a nice weekend guys 🍻
Continuing with Starwars Outlaws which I’m enjoying quite a bit.
I also bought the most random game ever - Alfred Hitchcocks Vertigo for £2.60 out of pure curiosity and so far it isn’t that bad. It plays like Heavy Rain and the story seems pretty decent so far. Can’t say the same about the voice acting and sound quality though.
Fallout 3
Still enjoying it a week later.
Trying to finish lies of p but it’s getting brutal towards the end.
Also, shogun showdown, which is terrifyingly addictive!
I’m trying to persuade my wife to do a co-op run in BG3 but I don’t think she’s interested unfortunately. Still, I’ll persevere!
@ironcrow86 superb game
Smurf's dreams and downloaded like a dragon ishin as heard it's a good entry point and looks more fun than rise of the Ronin
The Finals (So close to getting my HunHow jacket). Then gonna go through the free copy of Dark Sector before Warframe 1999 launches.
@rusty82 yeah, I've got to breaking out of prison with that Jesus looking guy (around 2 or 3 hours in) and so far so good 🙂
I’m completely swept up in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Happy gaming!
@KilloWertz Fallout 3 and Max Payne pulled me back into gaming after a three year hiatus for law school. I was so amazed when I stepped out of that vault with a huge world before me. Fallout 3 is fantastic, enjoy!
Not much time for gaming this weekend due to family commitments. But when there is time to play Sunday night, I am continuing with Capes, which is kind of a bargain bin Marvel: Midnight Suns. The visuals are pretty bad during cutscenes, and the story is nothing to write home about. But the powers are fun, as is the comic book art style they should use all the time instead of bad cutscenes. Far from a perfect game, but I am having fun knocking bad guys of ledges and zapping them with chain lightning.
I am biding my time until Indiana Jones pops up on Gamepass. It will be the first time I have turned on my Xbox since April. My PS5 deserves a holiday break too!
I bought a bunch of stuff for Black Friday and am waiting for it to come. Right now I’m checking out the steam Black Friday sale and seeing that I want to pick up there. And I got forza horizon 4 since it’s going to be delisted, even though i have never enjoyed playing racing games before. Most looking forward to picking up stranger of paradise final fantasy origin when it comes.
Lies of P, which is keeping me interested longer than I thought. It can be so frustrating at points (the cathedral platforming made me want to quit), but the relief is satisfying once you get through.
Mixing it up with some short sessions of Horizon COTM. Don’t want to rush it since I’m not used to vr yet since Ingot my VR2 this week.
Whizzing through the story of Horizon Zero Dawn in New Game Plus on ultra hard mode for the second platinum. Just heading for the Grave Hoard.
Code Vein, started it a few days ago and just cleared the mandatory video game ice area, think I'm about halfway through the game. Decent enough Soulslike, if you like the genre its worth a look. Have a good weekend all!
Since I decided to drop Stalker 2 until its in better condition I’ve been trying to find something a bit shorter to play since Im waiting for games coming in december (Behemoth and Indy for example) and dont want to be stuck in a big game. Ive played some Beyong good & evil but its not really doing it for me, and some other games I didnt really like but then I picked up:
Neva - Absolutely loved this game! Its from the developer that made Gris which is pretty evident when playing, in a good way. Neva is a very beautiful game, with another great soundtrack from Berlinist. If you liked
Gris and/or enjoy these types of games you really need to play this! I might have to double dip on the ps4 version right away, its that good 🙂
This weekend I’m playing Space Marines 2. This game rules. It harkens back to the 360 days with the early Gears of War titles. The combat is visceral and satisfying, with unique gameplay elements sprinkled throughout its 8-hour campaign (perfect length, too) to never make it boring. And the writing, despite being campy and bombastic, is actually well written, with a cool story. The banter between your party members is also great to listen to because of the distrust between your band of brothers, but remaining composed and uncompromising in their beliefs in order to get the job done.
Same old same old, Unicorn Overlord and trying to get the 100 online battles trophy in Sparking Zero so I can still maintain the delusion of platinuming it before January.
Happy gaming!
@KyushuTrail I got it! So now I’m gonna download Bloodborne and try it for the first time
Still having some fun in the photo mode with Stellar Blade. Need to jump back on Lollipop Chainsaw and Dragon Dogma 2.
Hopping between Shadow Generations and Stellar Blade with a touch of Street Fighter 6 here and there. Have a good weekend everyone!
I want to finish off the last two episodes of The Wolf Among Us and start Bugsnax if I get the chance.
AC Syndicate is proving to be criminally underrated. Having a blast with it. The game just oozes atmosphere.
I'm 60 hours in & just about to attend Louis' soiree in Brilehaven. I'll give my final opinion when I've finished, but right now, I'd say Metaphor is Atlus' best game since Persona 4 (which I've felt was their pinnacle)!
HZD remaster for me. Have a great weekend everybody 👍
Metaphor and I started up Nine Sols, I can’t recommend it enough, its like Dust or Ori meets Sekiro.
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - My neverending questing through the Adventure mode and also the dailies.
iStunt 2 (Windows Phone) - Still working through the Windows Phone backlog, so I've started this Joe Danger wannabe.
Elements: Epic Heroes (Windows Phone) - Also just started this one.
I am currently playing Maré on psvr2. I was not interested after watching the trailer, but after hearing several people praising the game, I picked it up. And it is so beautiful (graphics, animations, sound). Everything is very well done. Though, the graphics are simple, there is little challenge, and it is relatively short. Nevertheless, I would recommend it to people who liked journey. It is often compared to Ico which I haven't played.
Then I also play metro awakening on psvr2. I am not a big horror fan. But I like the adventure part of it. At times it looks good, though texture resolution is a bit on the low side, characters are a bit stiff and it lacks a bit of variety.
I'm doing a trails through reverie ng+
wow, jRPG week for me as well, as I move through Persona 5 Royal. all the characters are very well written and evoke strong empathy to all of them. and dungeon crawling part is really good as well.
@kyleforrester87
It is so weird that EA basically is giving away the value of their games. "Games are 79 dollars now, unless you sub for a month in which case everything we ever made is a dollar, combined." - excuse me, what!?
@get2sammyb there’s nothing wrong with wanting to play more Infinite Weskth after the main story. Its side content is a blast. Enjoy your time with Ichiban & Kiryu but please use sunscreen if you’re in Hawaii 😎😎😎
I have a code to download Darktide but I don’t know if it’ll be working yet as it’s not released until the 3rd.
Otherwise I’ll be playing Two Point Hospital after getting the platinum on Campus and loving it.
Well here in the US of UK ill be celebrating thanksgiving and be super pumped at playin some ps5 pro games y'all.
Playing through Legacy of Kane Blood Omen 2. Well on my way to the platinum but the game crashed and I lost maybe 90 minutes of progress which sucked. Decided to get the platinum in Twin Breaker in anticipation of Tri Breaker.
@Westernwolf4 Thanks. I am so far. There's been some frustrating parts, potentially a product of it's time to an extent, but overall it's been a pleasure going back in time. I tried playing it back in the day, but stopped after a few hours for some reason despite loving Oblivion.
I’ve bn breaking in the Avatar game on the portal. It’s fupping beautiful, I really dig it no idea what the gripes are with the patch on this one. They removed graphics options I don’t care
@Titntin I think we saw a lot of devs half-ass their patches for the Pro (Bloober, Outlaws and Ubi being the main offenders).
I’m juggling this weekend! On 12 hour shifts while simultaneously keeping an eye on my 40+5 weeks pregnant Mrs. Busy indeed 😗
I’m actually playing two of last years best games: Alan Wake 2 and Baldurs Gate 3. How original, I know, but the reason is, of course, that I was waiting for the physical editions.
I just finished AW2 and damn, that was much longer than I expected. Took me 40+ hours for the campaign + Lake House + one part of Night Springs. The game was fantastic, so much better than the first one.
So now it’s on to BG3. Just created my character so now I’m messing around on the Mind Flayer ship. Good stuff, I expect to be done with the game some time in February….
Just beat Metaphor Re:Fantazio and what a game it was! I’m thinking of taking it easy and starting up my first Black Friday game: NCAA Football ‘25. I used to play NCAA Football on my PS2 every day 😂😂
I'm playing Dragon Age Origins, as well as recording the playthrough in order to make a proper story recap video because all the available options sucked by either being too opinionated or glossing over too much.
I've also picked up a month of Netflix to catch up on stuff - got to Delicious in Dungeon late and absolutely fell in love with it - so I also have that eating into my time.
I'm playing through Lorelei and the Laser Eyes with my wife this weekend - it might be my GOTY so far (haven't started Astrobot yet).
I'm also finishing up Killer Frequency on Quest 3. What a great idea this game was and it's perfect for VR.
I’ve been splitting my time between the very well done and extremely fun MP of Black Ops 6 and the incredible Silent Hill 2 remake. I’ve never played a Silent Hill game before so I have to say I’m quite impressed. The atmosphere is so utterly oppressive and creepy it’s nerve wracking. The fog is so thick and the Otherworld is so decayed, rusted and dark it makes for a harrowing journey where you never know what’s around each corner or every next step for that matter. And the sound design is utterly amazing! This game is a GREAT example of survival horror done RIGHT! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Playing through Alan Wake Remastered for the first time. There are some elements I like - Remedy's brand of story telling is neat. The combat has a lot of jank, especially when there are more than 3 or so enemies. It's real easy to get stun-locked. Still makes for a fun time.
Alan Wake II is in the cards for sure, but the plan is to revisit Control on PC first. I put it down after losing my save file moving from one PC to another, but it's been long enough that it shouldn't be too annoying.
Stellar Blade. Finally bought the game during a Black Friday promotion. Didn't expect to love it as much as this, close to a masterpiece imo!
Completed my second run on Silent Hill 2 remake (speedrun/all collectibles/melee only/no radio/new game +) and felt myself gravitating back to Star Wars Outlaws - especially after the new patch release.
Definitely enjoying it more this time around. The small changes they've made to combat and stealth have really helped what I'm getting from the game.
Nine sols and heroine anthem zero 2 scalescars oath 😎
@TimeDelayedGamer there's an invincibility glitch if ya wanna cheat 😅 those boss run things iv forgot what they're called are insane 😭
Well here we go with another amazing WAYP. Been a stupidly amazing week around here. The week was mostly the games to work on for GOTY like Star Wars Outlaws, Visions of Mana, YS X, Emio and Metaphor. Most of the weekend was spent with Emio and Visions of Mana. Both games continue to knock it out the park Uce. Absolutely excellent. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some YS X Nordics. It also keeps knocking it out the park with excellent absolutely excellent story bits and great gameplay. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, Star Wars Outlaws, Visions of Mana, Tekken 8 Platinum, Lego Horizon, Zenless Zone Zero and really just anything that can get on the GOTY list. Probably vote for The Game Awards too and check out all the cool new stuff on the new phone I got this week too. Try too get a copy of Dragon Quest and Power Rangers too. The wrestling thing this week being Survivor Series WARGAMES just was absolutely amazing. The Women’s Wargames match, new US Champ Shinsuke Nakamura, and the Bloodline Men’s Wargames matches were absolutely splendid and honestly even the Gunther and Damian and Intercontinental Triple Threat match were splendid too. Anime of the week gotta go to Dandadan and Ranma 1/2. Not as many picks this week but they are absolutely two bangers no doubt there absolutely splendid. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be awesome to each other. Have a totally amazing weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
I beat Sonic superstars this weekend.
It was awful. I suspected it wasn't gonna be great, which is why i only bought it now for 17 euros but i still feel cheated.
There was unexpected behaviour on the controls when underwater and when being hit by something. Lives were removed. The special stages were terrible. The level design was atrocious and seemed to want to grind you to a halt or kill you. The bosses gain invincibility after every hit. The game hates that you get emeralds and takes them away and then plasters a cheap boss on you on top of only letting you get one per stage. Bosses themselves had a knack for knocking you into a pit for a one shot. The graphics were pretty disappointing as well. The difference in the animation of splashing in the water between this and mania is laughable. It's a spectacle on mania where i would splash on purpose to see it. Here it's like a dropplet next to sonic. 😂
Like, i would normally be happy about having 11 stages. I wish Sonic Mania had 11 stages. But i just wanted this dud to end. The last boss too was an exercise in dying over and over until i found out when i'm supposed to damage the thing without killing myself, cause yes, it goes invincible after every hit.
Oh and the music, usually the thing sonic games get right... nothing was catchy. Nothing was memorable. It was background noise.
Yeah... proof 2D Sonic can be bad. Heck i enjoyed Sonic 4 more than this.
I do hope they go back to mania style or just leave 2D Sonic be.
