Poll: What Are the Most Impressive Games You've Played on PS5 Pro?

I guess mine would be Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered but to be honest I haven't turned mine on for a couple of weeks.

I'm a bit underwhelmed Overall.

Seems like more of a you not playing PlayStation issue than a Pro issue.

My opinion is that it doesn't do enough to justify its existence but if you are enjoying it that's fantastic.

Final Fantasy Rebirth, Stellar Blade and Horizon Forbidden West look amazing. I hope they can sort out the visual shimmering on some games

Im playing on a 4k60hz tv (4 feet away) and the difference is very noticable. I played half of zero dawn on the base ps5, started again on the pro and was awe struck by the clarity and detail.

The hype is real!!!

The only Pro enhanced games I’ve played was TLOU Part 1 (it was top notch) and NCAA Football ‘25 (it was pretty great looking for a sports title). The only other titles I’ve played were Metaphor and AC Mirage. Oh I did try Silent Hill 2 but it was pretty bad with the shimmering and such. So I’m waiting on that title for a bit now

I find it funny that there's recent games that don't even support it, and are just basic PS5 games. Take Astro Bot. Nice game, quite pretty, but the shadows are a bit poor in a lot of areas, and it really stands out in the mouse level, they look crap. And it's the same on the Pro lol. I mean it's a console, it's a closed eco system, you can't just set your games to ultra. But this is a Sony published game not even offering any advantage for their new upgraded hardware.

I went FF7 Rebirth since I couldn't read that you can select 3. I tried out many and the others that impressed me was Ragnarok and No Mans Sky.

I’ve been disappointed more than impressed really. But Rebirth definitely takes the crown

So far I'd say Gran Turismo 7 and the Horizon games. GT7 with RT in races looks great and the difference it makes with PSVR2 is huge. As for the Horizon games, they basically just look like high end PC games.

A lot will vote FFVII but I do feel this is more to do with how poor it looks on the base console, as much as how it looks on the Pro and realistically, if you're only looking at Pro games, then FFVII still isn't amongst the best looking of them

I think here FF is winning becuase the improvement was so big. Not that as a whole it is so great. For me F1 and Alan Wake are much greater feast for the eye.

To be honest, I'm really feeling star wars outlaws. I don't see what everyone's deal is hating on it by default based off of hearsay. Furthermore, in the open world genre I prefer it to forbidden west. It's grimier, feels more alive, the side tasks are more meaningful to the progression and the characters are more likable.
Other than that ff7 rebirth was great as well as silent hill 2 as far as current gen only games. Have to give Alan wake 2 a shot, but control was the only remedy game I ever liked.

Stellar Blade, GT7 and Horizon FW are my top 3. In fact on Pro i would say Horizon FW is the best looking console out there, it looks jaw dropping and bodes well for Death Stranding 2. Stellar Blade looks stunning as well, it was already a looker but the better image really makes it look a lot better. GT7 with RT is a game changer visually for me, very impressed with the Pro version.

Stellar Blade, easily. I won’t touch the filth that is FF7Rebirth due to Hama-scumbag-guchi’s piss poor failure in butchering the trophy list (which he has publicly apologized for, yet apparently doesn’t feel the need to patch his mistake) so Stellar Blade takes the crown for most effective use of the Pro’s feature set.

Rebirth is the only game, that really got a major graphical boost. Stellar Blade looks good. But Pro mode with PSSR, is sadly softer, as it blurs small details, like text on signs, fences and other things. Though the AA is much improved. So it's a bit hit and miss, like most of the patched games.
I would rather have the choice, to switch to FSR or TAA, on games that has problems with PSSR, and just gain higher resolutions and framerates, by using the extra power of the system. PSSR is sadly more demanding, like in Ragnarök, with lower framerates, as a result. Being stuck with bad PSSR patches sucks...

I wish the CPU would have gotten the same kind of update. As CPU heavy games, still have problems reaching stable 60fps.

With a drive added, it cost me equal to $1200 here in Sweden. At the moment, it just wasn't worth the money, especially with the PSSR issues.
But hopefully, things will improve next year.

Should have listened to myself, and kept the OG PS5. I was hellbent on NOT getting the Pro, but the curiosity got to me 😂

Rebirth and Stellar blade look amazing on my Pro, my third vote went to RE4 remake

The Crew Motorfest looks great on the Pro, too, with a single mode running at 60 FPS, 1696p typical resolution upscaled to 2160p with a good implementation of PSSR. (Apparently, it's also free to play until December 12, 2024.)

I have a 4K60Hz TV still, but I ordered a new TV from Amazon it's 120Hz on Black Friday. It sold out, so I am waiting it's on backorder now. Still, I am very happy with my new PS5 Pro. Without a side by side, comparison, I don't know if anyone could even tell the difference. Soon as you see the PS5 Pro it could just become the new normal to your eyes. Anyway I am happy that after trade in I got the PRO for $400 knowing I will get a good trade in discount now for the PS6 also!

Hogwarts Legacy: give me a game where light acts like light and I'm going to be happy with it

And TLoUp1: unlocked at 90/100+ fps whilst looking as good or better, can't complain about that.

Horizon looks fantastic (obviously) just not been in the mood to play that yet.

For all the studios that can't run at a stable 60 fps and would struggle to optimise if their life depended on it, just focus on that locked 30 with better fidelity and move on, I say, despite 60 being what people want. Those studios have proven they can't achieve it without crippling their games at the moment, and they couldn't achieve it on the PS5 either without it looking really bad.

The worst games of the bunch were fine at 30fps on ps5, and somehow they managed to remove the one working mode in favour of reaching beyond their ability

F1 24 and Crew Motorfest but not on the list, oh and Rogue Flight 4k 120fps is sublime.

Hogwarts Legacy, Stellar Blade, and Resi 4 remake were my votes for most improved. GOWR & SM2 are very close follow ups, and much better games imo than Stellar blade and Resi 4, but if we are talking about most improved, SB and RE4 take it.

I havent played a few of those others repeatedly note like FF7Rebirth and GT7.

What no crew motorfest option, this games a stunner , the last of 2 at 90fps as well , oh and i like dragon age as it was blurry for me before on the ps5 , its very crisp now and at a solid 60fps.

Hogwarts legacy is a very misunderstood patch. A lot of comparisons note the RT modes (which at 30fps is a complete bust), and the High frame rate mode.

From someone who has a lot of hours in this game (unless you are the sort of person that really, really enjoys 30fps), the normal Performance mode, with uncapped fps (120hz VRR), is easily where the biggest overall improvement is (and makes the HFR mode redundant imo).

I’ve only played dragon age and a bit of gran Turismo in vr so not the most noticeable of pro enhancements but my friend is quite happy with her hand me down PS5.

Ive seen differing opinions on DAV's Pro patch, some of which feel like people are looking for any little issue to be over critical of.

Maybe there are a few tiny compromises, but like you, all I see when playing is a much better, less blurry image quality, and im very happy I waited until my Pro arrived before I got into the game properly.

@tameshiyaku I’m playing the game right now and really enjoying it. But as far as pro upgrades go it’s a major disappointment. Lots of shimmering, foliage disappearing and reappearing. Blurry image. I don’t have a vrr tv either so I’m noticing plenty of Framerate drops too in busier areas. If the game ran smooth I could look past the image quality.

@Rich33 I really do like the 30fps mode 😅 as much as I like a really good uncapped fps in other titles that don't take visual hits. I tweaked plenty to get it how I want it... and capped it must be, as uncapped was wild in fidelity RT, like noticably bad, it must be said.

It's also good that the mode you mention also works superbly.

This is the reason taking options away in other games is bad for the player. People need to be able to tweak things for their preference on a game by game basis, and devs should be adding more options in future for fully bespoke performance.

@Rich33 yeah i did the same and waited, I think the game is really good I really don't understand all the nonsense, the fighting reminds me a bit of kingdoms of amalur and I loved that, I like all the characters apart from neve, who's voice actress is atrocious, I'm sure she's a very nice person ,but she's terrible.

Im the opposite - much less than 60fps locked, and I just find a game unplayable - it gives me headaches and/or makes me feel sick (though stutter is also bad no matter the fps) - so ever since SWJediS I only pre order Sony titles or those I have played on demo, or had a DF type analysis on.

I will take visual downgrades quite happily to get to about 90fps, depending on how big a downgrade, but will happily lose RT normally. 90fps is about where diminishing returns kicks in for me (sometimes 80fps).

However, I 100% agree with what you say about options. I am strongly of the opinion that console games usually do not have nearly enough options - RT, uncapped fps, 120hz VRR, (and probably PSSR for now) should all be basic toggles.
To keep those happy who just like a couple of options - just have Performance and Graphics 'profiles' that those people can select, then further options people like us can go into and tweak.

It does stand to Hogwarts credit the options available (and I put in the caveat about unless you really like 30fps as I know some do still, and the RT looked good when I took a look at it). Unfortunately (and you probably know this already and maybe better than me), unless you can get >48fps all the time, without low framerate compensation, uncapping will give you a (much) worse experience.

Very happy with the game so far - I haven't played the game you note (KoA), but I do like the combat.

None so far of the ones I own.
But inFamous 2 is still fantastic to play on it.

Hogwarts and ff7 rebirth, but only because they are the only games i can tell a difference in. Spiderman 2 is a distant 3rd when put in quality mode.

Figuring itll be a year or so before it gets its wow game.

So far I’ve only played The Crew Motorfest, Jedi Survivor, Gran Turismo 7 and No Man’s Sky. All look great. Really looking forward to trying more VR stuff.

Zero Dawn remaster, its insane how gorgeous the game looks.

I don't own a ps5 pro. I own a 4090 card though. I don't need a pro. Playstation is my astro bot machine right now.

@tameshiyaku I bought Outlaws on launch day and it left me cold. No hearsay here. May be better now it's patched but I just couldn't get into it

Pong - But the console could not run it. Console is getting very hot with extreme fan noise.

@Medic_alert for me it’s the new games coming out like KCD2 that justify its price to buyers like me. As I want to play with the best graphics possible when playing any game. And the developer of that game has managed to give base owners both options. However the pro is both. Everyone wins.

@Vaako007 the console can only be judged by that measure when those games come out.

And my view isn't based on anything online or technical specs because all of that is largely irrelevant when my experience is that I need to see the two side by side to really discern the difference and there are currently a few games that have a horrible shimmering artifact that looks similar to old aliasing artifact from when games were running at lower resolutions.

I'm not trying to wee on anyone's bonfire here. I am glad for others that are more satisfied than myself but I think Sony have tried to create a sales opportunity here where there was no need for one and with the diminishing returns on offer with new hardware this has the potential to make a PS6 even less appealing unless it has some secret sauce to it.

No The Crew Motorfest in the list? For me it was the most impressive game I've played so far on my PS5 Pro.

I played DA The Veilguard, The Crew Motorfest, EA FC 25 and some VR games too.

Maybe I'll give TLOU or Hogwarts Legacy a shot just to see how they look on Pro but I already platinumed both.

how alan wake 2 and some other games got upvotes is alarming

I’ve only played FVII Rebirth but it looks great while having super fluid motion.

Only really played Stellar Blade, pro or not, what a great game!

Stellar Blade and Spider-Man 2 look pretty amazing on the pro in my experience. Demons Souls is pretty nice too. Silent Hill 2 remake still has strange graphics glitches.
