
Starfield has received yet another update on PS5, in the hope of finally addressing the game's remaining crash-related issues.
It's been over two months since Bethesda's sci-fi RPG launched on Sony's system, and while the developer has done a lot to fix the game's most glaring performance woes in that time, it's only now just got around to targeting this major problem.
Since its release back in April, Starfield has suffered from a semi-consistent crashing issue that occurs when you're exploring the surface of a planet.

It happened to me plenty of times during my playthrough, and the only real solution was to simply avoid exploration when possible. Not exactly ideal for a title that places a heavy emphasis on mulling around alien worlds.
But patch 1.000.006 (on PS5) promises to put an end to this seemingly random freezing. You can check out the full patch notes below.

General
- Fixed a freeze that could occur when traversing a planet surface.
- Addressed an issue that could cause Black Box Incursions to not start or reset properly.
- Fixed a crash that could occur if a Designer Couch was placed aboard a ship.
- Addressed an infinite load that could occur if a data slate display was placed aboard a ship.
- General crash and stability fixes.
Gameplay
- Fixed an unresponsive state that could occur when attempting to go through load doors while using the scanner.
- Addressed an issue that could cause Delta to be the wrong size.
- Fixed an issue where Quantum Essence could be used via Favorites when none was available.
- Fixed a few Points of Interests so they don't appear on planets with no human presence.
- Addressed an issue where a space encounter had too many asteroids present.
UI
- Loading a save will remove incorrectly displayed Incursion icons on the Starmap.
- Addressed an unresponsive state that could occur in the vehicle menu.
- Fixed a texture issue that could appear on characters when creating a character.
- Fixed text strings that would cause a font to display incorrectly.
- Updated the game credits.
