If you’ve ever been to an electronics convention before, you’ll know that they’re filled with loud music and flashing lights. What happens, then, when the power goes out? Well, that’s exactly what occurred at CES 2018 in Las Vegas earlier today, where parts of the South and Central Halls were plunged into darkness. Honestly, it’s a bizarre sight to behold:
Power has since been restored to the Las Vegas Convention Center, though it sounds like there are various incidents being reported in the surrounding areas. The show’s scheduled to run through 12th January so there’s still plenty of time for attendees to check out all of the expensive gizmos on display – assuming there are no further outages, of course.

Probably hacked
The robots realised that the best way to take us down is to rid us of our puny human eyesight.
@ShogunRok I was hoping the video would show the lights out with only the glowing eyes and blinking sensors of the robots visible as they escaped.
This is how the end starts. It was nice knowing you guys...
Was anything stolen I wonder. Couldn’t help thinking of Oceans Eleven
It was those robot puppies I tell you.
Get some of those illuminous dildos from the Anne Summers stand and you and your wife will be fine.
Oh, if ever there was a time for that .gif from Airplane! where Johnny pulls out the plug to the landing lights and cackles with glee...
I hate not knowing how to put .gifs in comments!
Sky net is incoming!
@RogerRoger Just copy and paste the URL of the gif in between...

Without any of the spaces.
@ShogunRok Much thanks! I can now rest easy, my heart rate returning to normal, safe in the knowledge that a news story about a power outage is appropriately accompanied by this little looping animation...
...phew, that was a close one!
@RogerRoger Perfect!
