Atreus solo game. Playing the NG+ and taking my time with it made me realise how heavily they allude to it. Not to mention the Tyr actor saying we'll be seeing more of him a couple months ago.
He's off to find the Giants!

Batman Arkham Knight made the top 20 in both regions. Did I miss something recently?

Anyway, what will it take to get a 60fps version on PS5? I am prepared to beg.

Could this be a symptom of the success of the PS4?
The user base is so high and therefore releasing games for it is still so lucrative.

I don't remember the same thing happening with the PS3, and it sold far less than PS4

Frustration seems to be good for business then.
They did the exact same tactic this time last year with Ragnarok and its still selling well. PS5 sales ain't doing too badly neither.

Question: other than the final boss fight and the visuals: is there anything else about this that justifies the PS5 exclusivity?

The pop-in that's been mentioned sounds disappointing, and I really hope they sped up the flight speed too.

Yeah, and faster I really hope.
Flying in HFW was cool but it was too slow. PS5 and it's super fast SSD should make that a breeze.

I don't think it'll happen but if it does I'll buy it day 1.

I'm too poor/lazy for a PC but I'll be dammed if I don't have the most powerful (and relevant) console in my possession at all times.

Regardless of what Guerilla said, putting HFW on PS4 harmed their vision for the game.

For that reason, I'm so intrigued by how a PS5 only version of this plays.

I don't mind a delay as long as they don't change course and add a PS4 version 🙃

As the article suggests, the delay is most likely for polish.

If it were anything to do with the reception of the trailer, the game would get outright cancelled.

Not interested in multilayer shooters these days, but I love the innovation.

Hope this is as good as it looks, I may just check it out if it comes to PS5

In 2021 if you told me that between Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad, I'd eventually play neither of them, I would never have believed it.
Yet here we are.

While I can see SM put a lot of effort into it, I agree that it was by far the weakest parts of the game.

I'm most interested in how they would've fleshed out the story over three games instead of two. We never saw Valhalla and I would've loved to see more Thor, and a Baldur return.

Maybe my expectations are too high, but nothing about this so far screams 'current gen only' to me.
Will wait and see what else they have to show

I tried with this game. Just like I tried with Bloodborne, and Demon Souls, and Sekiro. I'm just not into this developer and I really wanna see what the hype is all about, but it ain't for me.

Torn. On one hand they've given me the reason to replay this that I've been dying for. And I love it in 60fps, I really do.

On the other hand it still has some weird bugs that I shouldn't still be experiencing after all this time. NPCs floating in mid air. Pop in. Odd enemy AI behaviour. Some missions not triggering next steps therefore no ability to progress. Game crashes. And the controls are still hella clunky.

So I give it a 7.

Small win. For once I can say last-gen is not holding us back.

That's a terrible take, respectfully.

Sure the story didn't pack the same punch but pretty much everything else about the game was better than the original. This IP has a huge future.

Yes. In Sept 2020. That was over 2 years ago. So many of us have held off on another playthrough for over 26 months 😅

Funniest thing about all of this is that the PS4 and the XSX have the exact same graphics setting

Dude. Playing on GMGOW is SO frustrating.
I'm 20 hours in and I'm always a maximum of three (yes, 3) hits away from death. But I guess I knew what I signed up for.

Downloaded this last night on PS5. It didn't take long but the copying process took a while. Glad I've gotten it out the way because I intend to play bang on midnight and another delay would have killed me😅

I also wanna say thanks to Push Square for both the spoiler warning here, and the way you've made it easy to avoid spoilers through your preview and review. Can't say the same for IGN or Digital Foundry, even though they were light spoilers 🙃

'Dark Odyssey' is completely new to me

I don't understand how the Xbox version is superior. Aren't 2160p and 4K the same thing?

Hope they wrap this up soon. Because after this I'm hoping for a Mass Effect with the narrative quality of the trilogy, the combat quality of Andromeda, while utilising the SSD of the PS5 for next level exploration and traversal 🥹🥲

Rocksteady have been very quiet for a while. I suspect what they show us next will look a lot different to what they showed us a year ago.

Also, if you look at the respective track records of WB Montreal and Rocksteady, this 5/10 Gotham Knights was very predictable.
Rocksteady on the other hand have my confidence that their game is gonna be good.
