As someone who has played the Arkham games several times over, I know just how mediocre WB Montreal can be.
I bought their last game day 1 at full price. Never making that mistake again.

PlayStation are having a tough time.
Profits are lower. Costs are higher. And there's a hiring freeze that's been on since summer.
Anything they put out these days is gonna be priced high. Whether it'll be worth it is another matter.

Well at the PS Showcase just over 2 years ago, they told us 2021 (which nobody believed).

However, since communicating a specific date in July, they've stuck to it. So fair play to them.

Too many unanswered questions, some of which could make this a non-issue.
For example, if this is free for those who own the game, or even if it charges £10 (like Uncharted did) then cool.
So no point getting worked up about this now.

For people screaming about this being a 'waste of resources' I say, mind the business that pays you. They are not your resources to waste. At least, that's how I console myself whenever studios release unnecessary games.

Man, I would really rather not know about what else they've got planned until they are ready to tell us.
It's all well and good them giving us a showcase now to get ahead of it, but if the games are 2 years away then who gives af right now?

This industry needs to do better when it comes to leaks.

That's a crazy number.
Their share price is the highest its been in a few months too. If they nail the Witcher upgrade and this DLC, they might just be on the comeback trail.

Had this debate with some friends recently. I think it comes down to internet setup and how many games you play simultaneously.

Mine is rapid and via ethernet, I can download 100gb games in 20mins or so. I play one/two games at a time so don't care about storage space.

But for others, that can take 1hr+. They also might play multiple games simultaneously so it's more of a big deal

God of War 2018 was around 45gb on PS4.
This is twice the size, therefore confirms it'll be twice as good.

Same here. Watching the trailer was a mistake, but one I don't regret because it is so good.

Not all games are supposed to cater to everyone.

I haven't played it either but I'd rather they stuck to the principles of the game, than bend those principles after launch for a few extra sales.

I'm gonna try and avoid this news.

Cool! I don't remember seeing a game go gold two months before release.

As someone who's completed the Arkham games over 15 times combined (including multiple completions of Riddler trophies), I really, REALLY want this to be good. Let's hope.

2023 is when we should really start to see the death of cross gen game releases. PS5 supply is improving so its time to kick this generation on.

From my experience, buying a PS5 is much easier these days.

It's funny that nobody has an issue with the fact that the characters speak English, or that some of them have an American accent for a game with a Norse setting.
It's even OK that Mimir has a Scottish accent but god forbid they allow a person with brown skin in the game!

I think we're comparing apples with oranges here.

E3 2016 was a long time ago, and as you say there were so many ways to watch it 6 years ago, including in person.

Also, the E3 2016 video is almost 2 hours long!
The Resident Evil 4 trailer alone has more views than the SoP. I could not use that to draw conclusions about RE4s popularity compared to everything shown in the SoP broadcast, for example.
