@2cents "everyone knows it’s not meant to be a console game, especially last gen consoles"
This is an absurd thing to say. It released on consoles, specifically the PS4 and XB1, so it is obviously supposed to be a console game. And the ONLY consoles it released on are last gen consoles. I get that this hasn't worked out, but if they especially aren't supposed to be last gen games this games wouldn't exist and a PS5 version would.
I think it almost has to be $400. I don't think $500 goes over very well with the general public. The niche success of the Pro and One X seem mostly irrelevant to this question. Sony is looking to sell far more of the PS5 than the PS4 Pro.
You all doubt that a Fallout 3 remaster would cost $60? Does no one remember that not just Skyrim remaster but Skyrim VR as well started at $60? Skyrim VR should have been a $5 add on to the $30 original game but instead it cost $120 to get both day one.
All of you criticizing the marriage don't get it. I am a gamer, and I have a family, and I game a lot less than I used to. It just isn't as important as time with the wife when you both work. It isn't as important as being there for your kids. Marriage is about compromise and middle ground.
What would be the harm of releasing a bad follow up to Folklore or Jak? Sure it would damage the IP, but as those franchises have been dormant for a decade and Sony seems to not be interested in expanding on them, who cares? I'll take the roll of those dice.
@Tasuki Making a Fallout game that Fallout fans didn't want is a totally legit complaint though. Why alienate the fans that way? An extreme example would be what if the next Call of Duty was announced and it ended up being MLB The Show only visually made to look CoD themed? The Show is the best baseball game and this game would be as well, but it would legitimately enrage the fans because it is not what the fans wanted. Making an engrossing single player experience like the Fallout games into an online only multiplayer cash cow is pretty much the same.
This isn't quite the least surprising game announcement of 2019, especially since the LEGO Batman movie didn't get a game. The least surprising game is one of Madden, FIFA, COD or The Show.
At this point isn't one better off just buying a used PS3 or even a PSTV and just getting the games they want? Plus pretty much everyone of these early 3d games look terrible. I don't understand the market for this product.
A small user base is well within the developers control, and seems like a legit complaint, and one that absolutely should be mentioned in reviews. When a developer makes an online, muliplayer VR game it is very predictable that there won't be a lot of people playing it.
It'd be better if all 12 characters were from TMNT. Also this title could easily have a whole lot more characters generally. Pretty sure each one of those shows could have about 10 characters without getting too obscure. I'm assuming there are plans to add a lot of them as DLC?
They absolutely should have done something similar with TES. Didn't have to give VI to another studio, but how about a story set somewhere else that takes place during the events of Skyrim? Or even more simply an Oblivion remaster?
Metal Gear Solid on PS1 is one of my fondest gaming memories. Found it at a Goodwill for $5 a week after release and played through that game so many times. 5 or 6 times at least. Snake's long history with PS puts him over the top for me.
Lifeless Planet, Deadpool, Skyrim VR and Fallout Shelter. It's a backlog weekend.
May also try to get more into Gravity Rush Remastered. Played a little and it didn't quite seem like my kind of game, but I do want to give it more of a chance.
I don't get the argument here. So if paying Fortnite the thought is "I leveled up/bought stuff on some other sevice, it should carry over to my PS4!" Am I understanding that right? How is that different than "I bought Insert Full AAA Game Here on PS4 I should be able to play on my other consoles!" Doesn't make sense that it would work that way.
@Antonio7vlel Right, but we are voting on the "Ultimate" Playstation character. And regardless of one's own personal feelings about these 2 characters, only Kratos has a claim on the Ultimate label between them. What percentage of PS gamers know who Kat is? Less than 10%? Maybe even less than 5%? What percentage know who Kratos is? 50%? More? This is far more relevant in deciding an "Ultimate" character than how one feels about them personally.
Kat winning makes this whole tournament a joke though, right? If she gets past Kratos there is probably no stopping her. She is a great character, and whatever. But she is not the greatest PS character and everyone knows it.
Style seems to carry too much weight in these ratings. Sony's games were great, while the format was terrible. That feels like a B/B+, not a C. Substance matters more.
@Cornaboyzzz I'm 38 and voted Aloy. Cloud hasn't been truly featured in a game in 25 years, and while the game was great he is a very nondescript character. Aloy was a great character in a great game that came out much more recently, and that we will definitely see again. It isn't about age, it is about how Aloy is a better PS character at this point.
I just don't understand how, with the success of Skyrim, we are going to end up waiting 10 years for another Elder Scrolls game. You would think that they would have been looking to cash in on it's success sooner than that.
As the question is worded I don't understand how "Yes" is winning. How have we ever needed E3? Games would get developed, announced and released pretty much the same with or without E3. There just wouldn't be the big spectacle of the huge conference. Now maybe you like E3 and maybe you don't, but there is almost no case to be made that it was ever needed.
We already had a PS Switch. It was the PS Vita/TV. Didn't go over very well and Sony was super quick to drop them. I still like them better than the Nintendo Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Expectations for PSVR 2 on PS5?
My expectations are Kinect 2 for Xbox 1. I hope I am wrong because I really enjoyed PSVR on PS4, but it's recent trajectory doesn't seem great.
