@LieutenantFatman I can't really argue with anything you said, we just have different criteria for voting. Which is what makes its whole tournament fun.
@LieutenantFatman This seems exactly wrong. This whole round is 20 somethings vs 30 and 40 somethings. If you've been with Sony since the beginning you are going to vote for the "kid" characters. If you started in the PS3/4 Era you are going to vote for the "adult" characters here.
Spyro better win. When a character's first 2 games don't even appear on PS consoles and has only been in 1 game on said systems they should never beat a character who has probably been in a dozen PS games. The Witcher 3 is great, greater than any Spyro game, but Spyro is the greater PS character. That being said Yen beats Sonic because Sonic has been dead as long as there have been PS systems for him to appear on.
Come on everyone, Neo Cortex has been a PS icon for more than 2 decades. Ellie was in one game a few years ago. Playstation maybe never even gets off the ground without Crash and Neo. The voting should at least be close and instead he is getting routed. Pushsquare readers hate the early days of Playstation is what these polls are teaching me.
I'm telling you guys, this is just going to be the return of Skylanders. It is a much more recent series of games, that took last year off, has a current Netflix show and featured BOTH of these iconic PS characters. The Spyro remaster would be nice, but Skylanders 2018 seems far more likely.
Bayonetta shouldn't be nearly as close to Neo Cortex. One 9 the 2 is a Playstation icon, and the other was most recently seen in a Nintendo exclusive. Boobs! are a powerful thing.
This would only seem like a slow month if you don't have PSVR. As someone who has PSVR this month is fantastic. I have (Moss) or want to get all 4 of these games and that is a rare month. In fact, I am about to start Moss right now.
It would be nice if they ported all the old games to PS4. It is silly you can play the original Sonic the Hedgehog on PS3 and not on PS4. It'd be even better to make them available on Vita, but that seems highly unlikely.
@themcnoisy I definitely think a lot of the reviews of both the hardware and software seem overly negative. IGN has also been pretty dismissive of the hardware and largely ignores the software. As someone who owns PSVR that attitude really misses the mark. It offers a new video game experience that other consoles can't offer. Games like Invisible Hours, Skyrim VR and Resident Evil 7 are incredible, and I quite enjoyed Dino Frontier and Time Machine VR as well. This feels like obviously the future of gaming and to dismiss it seems quite short sighted.
Sony definitely needs to start working with the various sports leagues to bring broadcasts to VR. This is a potentially large market that could bring in a lot of nongamers who are just looking for the best sports experience. I already have PSVR, but I would be hooked for life if I could watch the Mets in VR.
It seems to me that any match up that pits a PS exclusive character against a multiplatform character should pretty much default to the exclusive character, or else we aren't choosing the best PS characer.
@KirbyTheVampire I don't really get this opinion. The Switch is a pretty nice piece of hardware, but doesn't really provide a gaming experience dramatically different from what is already out there. The PSVR is a very unique experience that can't be had on any home console, and is only available with a much more expensive PC set up. 6 months ago I was faced with this same decision and it was rather easy to choose the PSVR over a Switch.
I am late to this party, but received Dragon's Dogma Saturday and that has been my go to this weekend. Looks a lot better on PS4, as the graphics were really pretty terrible on the PS3. Really enjoying it so far and looking forward to it going online to be able to start using other people's pawns.
All of you who haven't played and are glad you waited don't know what you are talking about. I got the Plat on ps3, I am close on ps4 and I have every intention of platting this in VR as well.
This is a Dinosaur/Western/City management game? As a recent convert to vr I am not sure I could be more excited for this. As a side note, vr seems to really love dinosaurs.
None of these seem too great to me. Fighting games are me (to me at least) and the rest just don't sound like my kind of games. Rime is a game I might eventually play. Maybe my vote should be $0.99 PS4 game Deliriant. The game was horrible but at least you can 100% it in less than 5 minutes.
I think the idea that these indie games aren't system sellers needs at least some push back. Individually none of these would make someone choose Sony over MS, but collectively they absolutely do. They make Sony stand apart from MS and their big online multiplayer focus. While Sony's AAA exclusives still have a pretty clear advantage over MS, these excellent indie titles help to fill out the PS experience and I wish for that not to go away.
@NathanUC The answer is up there. 1 2 Switch, Dragon Quest Heroes and Tetris all made the list. Still surprised that only about 60% of Switch owners also bought Zelda.
I do think it is nearly impossible for the top 2 PS4 games to actually be PS3 games. It doesn't seem like remasters should be the very best games at this point in the PS4's life cycle, and if they truly are we should have serious questions about the long term health of the industry.
It seems like Oblivion or especially Morrowind would be the more appropriate games to remaster as they both graphically look worse, could use some more modern gaming tweaks and also found a smaller original audience meaning more people would he plating them for the first time. Morrowind especially seems like a game they could make an absolute killing on if they modernized it
I think that the biggest problem is the state that games are released now. The first month or 2 of a games release today is practically beta testing that you pay full price for. By the time that games are actually completed and playable the price has dropped leaving early adopters of games having payed more for less. There are numerous games that are like this, obviously No Man's Sky being the most prominent example last year.
It just seems like an obvious choice for consumers to wait, pay less and have a better experience. Publishers need to respond to this by not releasing unplayable garbage just to meet arbitrary release dates and instead release finished products that won't leave early purchasers feeling cheated.
@Hellbringer1975 And you crash through life never giving a damn what anyone thinks or listening to advice more informed people might give you? Because that would seem to be the other side of that coin.
The unexplored, discovered systems could also just be people going for that trophy. I know I probably didn't look at most of the systems I discovered. I just followed the path to center and jumped a bunch of times. Several of my "discovered" planets were just pit stops to refuel. Don't get me wrong, loved this game and the exploration aspects of it but I wanted the plat and at the end just needed a bunch of jumps.

How did they come up with the stadiums? A top 3 list of MLB stadiums certainly wouldn't include those 3. And why not all of them?
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Top 16 - Matches 105-108
@AFCC Kratos is the one I liked last week that adcanced. I value longevity more than most of the people voting. Probably because I'm 38.
Re: Poll: Ultimate PlayStation Character Tournament: Top 16 - Matches 105-108
@AFCC I'd argue that last week only one of the deserving winners advanced.

The only reason Joel is winning is recency bias. No way 1 game makes him more of a PS icon than Lara's several.
