Re: Stilt Swaps Hands for Big Springs on PSVR2

@CaptD haha no problem on my end. I know there are limited hours in the day but I wish this site covered VR better. A lot of things slip through the cracks so there aren't official places to discuss games not covered (besides the forums I guess). I feel like PushSquare is super reliable on regular PS5 news.

On topic so I'm not just talking about a different game on this article, I think Stilt definitely looks interesting but is much lower on my priority list (bottom third) and would have to be a deep sale imo.

@Amnesiac for what it's worth, wasn't trying to be negative, more along the lines of trying to defend the developer. I guess the biggest issue seen was with a HOTAS controller not responding correctly. He said it's a known issue and is in the day one patch.

I've never played this type of game in VR outside of the Star Wars flight demo, definitely interested in learning more about it

Re: Rock Band 4 to Get Final DLC Pack Almost a Decade After Launch

ztpayne7

@Grumblevolcano ok good to know. Thanks!

@somnambulance I don't expect them to do it, especially with DLC winding down. Epic probably wants them to focus on Fortnite Festival. I would make the suggestion to Epic and nor Harmonix because they won't have any control over it.

@WolfyTn I guess it depends on what you're used to. I remember having a third party controller that was a lot more clicky in the strum bar. I have mostly the main stratocasters. I just did a strum test and my unofficial opinion is that the new one made for Rock Band 4 is a little less clickier than the one I have for Rock Band 2. But apparently both Mad Catz and PDP made guitars for Rock Band 4 per the comment above, I have the Mad Catz one

Re: Rock Band 4 to Get Final DLC Pack Almost a Decade After Launch

@somnambulance If they released a PS5 version of the game, it would just be an outcry for more instruments. if you didn't know, their instrument manufacturer for RB4 went out of business and people won't shut up about it on their channels. Every comment is talking about more instruments when they've explained that it's not possible in the foreseeable future.

If they are getting more in the future, it's because Epic decided to take care of it. Hard to believe but they're an indie company that sold themselves to keep making games but eventually bought back their independence. Now they belong to Epic.

Re: Fallout: New Vegas Vibes Front New Fallout 76 Content

ztpayne7

@Mad001 I definitely couldn’t get into Elder Scrolls Online, just felt too far from the real thing. Played Fallout 76 in 2022 for a bit and got into it but still just wasn’t as good as the regular Fallout. Couldn’t get my friends into it so I mostly played solo for a while. Would have definitely preferred just a new fallout or elder scrolls game, so I’m with you on that point.

Re: Preview: Arizona Sunshine 2 Could Be the Next PSVR2 Must-Buy

@Mikey856 Keep your eye out for Vertigo 2. It's supposed to be around Half Life Alyx quality and coming out in 2 weeks or so. I don't feel like Push Square has really brought this one up but it seems like one of the biggest vr games coming this holiday.

Compared to other should have been great but the ports were let downs until we get graphic updates like Green Hell and Hellsweeper, this one seems really promising for a good launch. Obviously check reviews but it really should be one to watch for.

@Tecinthebrain "imagine that there were no first party Sony studios not making games for the PS5"

But isn't that true? We don't know about anything past Spiderman except Helldivers which I believe is being published by Sony. I don't believe for a second that Sony is sitting on their butts doing nothing, I think we just don't know about their upcoming plans - and I believe that includes PS5 and PSVR2. I think this is less of a gotcha than you think and more of a "Sony is keeping their cards extremely close to their chest" situation.

Re: Mini Review: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (PS5) - A Bare Bones Asymmetrical Multiplayer Experience

ztpayne7

My friend got this game (on pc) and he's having a lot of fun with it. He's a pretty experienced player for DBD and also played Friday the 13th. I was worried matches would be too similar but it seems in the early stages he's having a lot of fun.

While I'm not personally interested in buying this because I have DBD and also a TON of games to buy this year, I figured I'd put that input out there.

Re: No Man's Sky's PSVR2 Visuals Take a Massive Leap with Foveated Rendering

ztpayne7

@Trousersnake to be fair, I only played like 20 minutes of the intro, so I didn't get to see settlements, or any of that stuff. Maybe it looks better in more confined spaces. I got started on a snow planet this time which was new. Again, I do feel it was massively improved. With all the hype I saw on reddit I went in believing it was going to be like Red Matter 2 and to me it just wasn't unfortunately. It's still a great upgrade!

And it isn't all on my expectations. I played Kayak VR for the first time, expecting it to look great, and it does! Not perfect but great. I also tried Synth Riders for the first time and it was way better than I expected. But again, both of those games don't have the same scope as something like NMS, which might be one of the most ambitious games on the platform with how vast and procedurally generated it is.

Re: No Man's Sky's PSVR2 Visuals Take a Massive Leap with Foveated Rendering

ztpayne7

@thefourfoldroot1 Yeah, I would have loved for it to look that good, but to my eye it just doesn't. But it makes sense with how big and open NMS is vs how corridor like Red Matter 2 is. I think it's like if it was the worst looking PSVR2 game there was (which is what a lot of people said), it's now around mid tier instead of top tier

Re: No Man's Sky's PSVR2 Visuals Take a Massive Leap with Foveated Rendering

ztpayne7

@Trousersnake @thefourfoldroot1 I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, but I loaded it up last night and it in no way matches Red Matter 2 for me in graphical fidelity. It's definitely a step up from where it was and makes it a lot more playable but I can name several games with much better graphical fidelity.

It's still awesome that they updated the graphics, I just need to be honest.

Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Final Fantasy 16 Can't Stop Diablo 4 from June Number One

ztpayne7

@WallyWest 16 is a WAY better Final Fantasy game than 12 or 15. Story, gameplay, music, world etc. Combat is great and more varied than you think. Two of my best friends are playing and since I’m ahead of them, I’ve watched them play and we all use different abilities and approach combat differently. I’m saying all this as someone who also loves turn based, one of my top two games this year is turn based.

You’re obviously the one with bias based on your comments here. You’re coming off as really abrasive. It’s ok to have different opinions but maybe don’t speak for everyone.

Re: Rogue Legacy 2 (PS5) - A Worthy Heir to the Rogue-Lite Throne

ztpayne7

I love this! I had been waiting for 3 years and it’s met all my expectations. My runs tend to be long though because I almost always go through all biomes I’ve done so far to a) accumulate gold, b) continue to learn layouts and enemy types and c) get xp for that class. I think it’s gonna help in the NG+ runs. Just made it to the sixth biome.
