@KidRisky There were too many cases of drift for relatively new controllers. I don't think everyone suddenly decided to hammer their controllers or to just outright lie. I've been through drift and fixed it with cleaning, so I believe that's the actual reason: some dusty residue from manufacturing process left inside.

Just clean the contacts with non-conducting contact cleaner. I had drift in my original dual sense I got with the console on the release, cleaned it thoroughly and the drift is gone. Never drifted again, still use it.

@BacklogBrad Most likely Apple already approached them directly about that possibility.

@ShogunRok I'd say the projects need quite a lot of time in development still. But the studio is running out of money, hence the attempt to reduce the spending in hopes that reorganisation will compensate for the loss.

@Styledvinny79 The difference is sound quality. Planar magnetic drives make sound very detailed, as they do not suffer from the distortion inherent to any dynamic drives.

Planar magnetic headphones and buds for that price? With lossless support?! I mean, I do own a couple of Audeze headsets for gaming, but I think of getting those too just because It's too good to be true 😊

Hmmm the visual style seems off to me compared to the first two games. I'll wait and see.

@tselliot If a game makes you grind to have fun then the money you paid for it are already wasted. It should've been free to play.

@djlard Integrated batteries won't go away. The batteries need to be "easily replaceable by the user" which expanded as not glued to the body and not requiring special tools to replace.

I don't know if I would purchase it. This is indeed my type of game. However, some time ago knowing that this is a Microsoft exclusive I watched several YouTube videos about the story, different phases of the game, etc. Obviously, all spoiler heavy.

Now I doubt there's a reason to play a game which is light on gameplay and heavy on the story arc, when you know the story already.

@Ken_Kaniff If it's not free then there will be no reason playing it. Fans of that kind of games expect their games be free to play.

@4kgk2 It's not about every game. There are very few decent single player shooters on PlayStation. It could have been another one, but now it won't. It's a missed opportunity.

@Synthatron_Prime Sorry, I spoke too soon! Later in the game I saw pretty significant drops, with fire in the castle. So yeah, those drops are quite noticeable, and I hope they will be fixed.

@KundaliniRising333 It's so weird. I haven't noticed any motion blur, or ghosting. I also haven't noticed any frame drops, but maybe VRR helps or I haven't travel far enough in the demo.

@Ocat They will not get Xbox once the news that Starfield only supports 30 FPS on Microsoft's consoles reach them. They will keep their PS5s and get a gaming PC.

I voted "it's not for me" but it's not the exact answer. I would like to play the game, but I'm boycotting Blizzard since their behaviour towards a player who demonstrated his support for Hong Kong freedom movement. Then Blizzard put forth several lies, explaining how they ban all political content and how it wasn't big of a deal.

Until the company comes clean in that regard I won't pay a single cent to them.

From the store owner perspective streaming games from your hardware is much less profitable than selling or renting out games to players to run on their own hardware. Because of that I predict it will remain a niche forever.

Whatever they are doing for the sake of sanity and common sense I hope they will not make employee bonuses dependent on Metacritic score.

@thefourfoldroot1 Corporations have no morals. They are money making machines that differ in their mode of operation.

I would call Microsoft's mode "ruthless". Microsoft is not very suited to operating outside of monopoly bounds, and as such they try to establish one at all cost.

I for one would love episodic games, where content is designed with such care. I still believe episodic games can work; a publisher has to find the right price / hours of fun balance.

Never played a Yakuza game, but want to get into action. I don't feel like I want to go through all of them, but I don't want to miss good ones either, so which one should I start with, and which ones should I pick next?

@LiamCroft Fair play. But nothing will. When the game came out me and my clan were eager to have fun, as we had in Destiny 1. You can guess what happened next.

I gave this game every chance I could. Played for almost a year when everyone left it. Returned when they "fixed everything" and the game was in a "best" state ever according to some gullible gamers. No. The broken game design, destroyed game mechanics, and clear consequences of movement into "free to play" territory killed the franchise.

They can release the best trailer in the world. But D2 still won't hold candle to D1 year 1.

@StylesT It is good for consumers in the short term. In the long term the games will degrade to remain profitable on subscription.

@Widey85 I think they are rising price because that ensures console sales profitability. When you can reliably make consoles for profit, you loosen dependency on game sales.

Technically, Returnal is very hard to port to Windows. Taken as is the requirements for configuration will be pretty high. So they will need to create a lower tier mode for the game to be comfortably playable on lower end machines. A lot of new code will have to be written just for that.

There are videos on YouTube going deep into technical aspects of the game. Making it run on Steam's average gaming rig and not looking ugly will be a real challenge.

@Goober1 I've been a PC gamer my whole life, until I bought a PS4 for no good reason. Never looked back. Finally I felt myself free from the necessity of micromanaging every tiny aspect of setting up games, only to repeat it some time later when I see a frame rate drop. Now I just enjoy the games.

That's why you can't review games on technicalities. Charm adds a lot. Novelty too.

The game is simple. maybe it's not great but it's good. It's adorable. It gives good time to player

@MKD88 @JudgeDredd @OrtadragoonX @RobN Clean it with a contact cleaner. There's no way the stick assembly which is the same as on PS4 dual shock could have worn out in that period of time.

I fixed the drift by opening the casing and spraying the contact cleaner into the stick assembly. That's it. No drift for more than a year since then.

@JJ2 It very well may be that the next generation PlayStation will have an Arm chip.

Let's put the separating line here: No Man's Sky is a live service game, while what's listed there is either "pay to skip the grind" or subscription-based games.
