Here's hoping for a Wipeout 2097 HD remake with the original physics and backwards compatibility of all Playstation generations - just pop in a disc and it will work
@Speedy-R it's not, look at the 5 and compare it with the officially announced logo. Push Square in this article has used a mock-up logo that was prepared before the official logo on a black background was released by Sony.
They need to drop the open world and polish their previous style of game to perfection. After all, a lot of people prefer Burnout Takedown to the later open world games like Paradise City. And that's already available on PS4 as a re-master.
The PS2 has weird interlaced flickering, even in emulators. For that reason, it is my least favorite. My favourite is the PSX, which looks great upscaled in Retroarch and with the wobbling vertices corrected.
That PS5 logo does not look right - the 5 has sharp edges whereas the rest of the logo has rounded edges. Also look at the PS4 logo and you will see the 4 has rounded edges.
Tekken 7 is great. I wish however that the Tekken logo went back to the non-italicised version that was used in Tekken 2 and 3 and stop using the phrase 'Get ready for the next battle' that was introduced in Tekken 5
If they can re-make CTR, I would love to see a re-make of Wipeout 2097 with its physics and ship handling in all its glory. While Ballistic NG kind of approaches it, the physics just aren't there.
This sounds like the same thing that happened to Evolution Studios...everyone just wanted a simple sequel to Motorstorm but they had to go and make a game with a unique twist. Here everyone wants a Transformed sequel, but Sumo has to go and make a game with a unique team twist. Having said that, the article seems to suggest that the team racing is engaging, so looking forward to this one.
At least Bungie has survived this marriage. Other developers haven't. Remember Bizarre Creations? They went from Project Gotham Racing, to Blur, to not existing.
Bet you there will be no Wipeout 2097 due to Red Bull licensing issues. Same reason why it never appeared on the PS Store. Despite being one of the games which defined the PSX.
Great article. I used to go to Eurogamer for these articles, but Push Square is quickly becoming the better site (and more frequent articles too). Please do an interview with Ian Hetherington, he must have a wealth of knowledge and experience!
Hopefully they will include player animations after a successful putt or shot to make things more lively. Links 2004 (xbox) is still my go-to golf game.
I bought it on Switch, first impressions are that the gameplay is like Generations but the music, voices and cut scenes are much better. Enjoying it in small bursts on the Switch.
I like your site and read it daily but don't understand the campaign of negativity against Sonic Forces. Generations was well received and as I understand it Forces uses a similar, updated engine. Is it going a bit too far to call it 'bad' before you have played the finished game? Looking forward to your review of the game.
The problem with EA games is that they have too many menus. You just want to pick up and play the game. Look at rocket league - loads up and you join a match, easy.

It's coming....but not with that logo. Have a look at the 5. Time to start using pictures of the correct logo in your articles.

You guys keep using pictures of logos that aren't the real PS5 logo

That PS5 logo picture you are using for the article does not look like the announced one - the 5 is too square

Is it 60 fps? Sonic Generations was a little bit choppy in parts.
