Sammy, are there any player animations after sinking the putt? In the first game, the players looked dully ahead and unemotional after their shots which put me off it.
Wipeout 2097....it had the best handling and atmosphere of the series. The way the back of the ship would swing out around the corners. That, and Burnout Takedown, pure arcade goodness
Check out Ballistic NG being made by a guy on the Wipeout zone.com website. He's made incredible progress in one year and its made in the style of Wipeout 3.
You can drift by upgrading your wheels (spend coins). You can even buy wheels that can make you bounce to collect coins that are out of reach. The drifting doesn't feel as natural as Micromachines V3 for example (in my opinion the best 3d top down miniature racer) but still fun. I really like the ice powerup that causes the car to freeze into an ice cube, and slide off the table, a nice touch. What this game needs is couch co-op.

Are the sprite sizes the same? It looks more detailed. Perhaps more colours than what the Genesis used.
