I just hope the industry figures out how to resolve scalping, once and for all. I get Sony is trying but they almost make it so hard for a non-scalper too. I'm not suggesting I have the answer but with a ll the technological advances in the era of AI, you would think this one would be easier than it is.
And you thought the vanilla PS5 Pro was too expensive? Don't even know what a limited run of 12k systems will fetch. If you were complaining about $700, good luck getting this anywhere near that once scalpers get their hands on it. Sony took the hate from the previous announcement, and said hold my beer.
I feel like, and I'm not speaking for anyone, just my stupid take, that the people not liking this game are more fans of soulslike games. I could be wrong, got to try it for myself, but it's not like the combat of notable masterpieces, like Zelda LttP, were that engaging, or hard, either. Maybe I'm just misreading their take. Plan on picking it up to see what the fuss is, either way.
If it sells like hotcakes, won't matter what I think. To me the most off putting, more than price, is to have to worry about buying two other parts to make it work like I'd want it to. (Disc drives are already selling it, which should be a clue how well this will sell) Only hope of getting it cheaper is for it to not sell well, which would just be bad for games, too. I don't think that will happen when people barely scoff at $1300 phones, these days. It's gonna be fine. We'll all be fine. Most depressing part is with Xbox eating sh-t, don't expect this scenario to get better. You Sony fanbois all wanted that to happen, so here we are.
Great timing on pic to this post, I'm actually playing Trails into Daybreak 2 Crimson Sin with translation mod. Great game, includes mini games that were sorely lacking in Daybreak 1. Seems more like a (albeit big) DLC to 1, story-wise though. Very addictive gameplay, at least to me. I contemplated waiting for English version next year, but gave in.
@IntrepidWombat I literally got that same game from EB and had no disc in it. Thankfully, I was still at the mall and was eating lunch. Back before malls became the cesspools they are today. Couldn't pay me to step into one.
I'd say a very difficult franchise to spoil. Although, even some established ones are hard to. Like telling someone Gandolf is the BIG BAD in the next Zelda game
No. The last few weeks have been a juxtaposition of games made in the east vs games made in the west. Results speak for themselves. Western games are becoming close to unplayable due to entertainment being the very least of their priorities.
6? Wow, I'm shocked, but not really. Minute I heard Ubisoft was making this game. My expectations dropped. This is so much a western hemisphere game in 2024 with all it's literal ugly warts.
Don't really care. The fact it's on PC and PS5 should be enough. The fact most Xbox games are also on PC, makes me really question the value of an Xbox. I'm no Sony fanboi, either. I've owned some version of the game console they made, at some point. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Atari, Sega, etc. I tried to even convince myself I needed the latest version of the Microsoft console, and couldn't do it. Having said that, I'm all for gamers/consumers having MORE choices, not less. I have no qualms about exclusivity, against or for it, other than knowing more choices are almost always more consumer friendly than less.
Given the influences involved in this, kind of not holding out a lot of hope. Will this be The Acolyte of Star Wars games? 77 on Metacritic right now, with no user scores, for obvious reasons.
Don't watch? I mean, I know that's hard when this is what you do for a living., but for the rest of us, it really isn't that hard. Unless you keep posting the crap you are complaining we shouldn't see.
Don't really care. Whole reason I never got an Xbox this generation because there wasn't a single game I felt like I was missing out on as a PC/PS5/Switch owner.
@Flaming_Kaiser Really absolutely no reason at all to buy a game early these days. Bonuses aren't even worth it, and 9 out of 10 times are mostly cosmetic. I'm gonna wait until enough people have beta tested it out in the wild before I plunk down 6 to 7 bills.
Wow, who saw that coming? I mean, besides absolutely anyone remotely involved in gaming in the last decade or so? Who did everyone think they were competing with buying preorders?

Man, came prepared to view it and cringe but damn looks good.
Re: Fairgame$ May Be Sony's Most Tone Deaf PS5, PC Title to Date
@Jaz007 Well, we have to be offended by something, even if we have to stretch to find it.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Is F**cked and PS5's New Firmware Is to Blame
Not a technical genius on how PS5's work but completely sounds like some type of shader caching issue.
Re: Preview: Unknown 9 Awakening Plays Like a Long Lost PS3 Remaster on PS5, PS4
WTF even is that? 2024, go home, you're drunk...
Re: Yoshi-P Pleads for Modder Restraint Ahead of Final Fantasy 16 PC Launch
Think that was some reverse Jedi mind trickery that he really, really didn't mean. At least that's what all the modders will think.

@Leeg What would you consider a good social media account? It's supposed to be lame.
Re: Lack of Competition from Xbox Partly Why PS5 Pro Is $700, Says Analyst
Sony fan bois: Xbox sux, good riddance.
Also Sony fan bois: Why is Sony charge an arm and a leg?
Analysts: Because they can.

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?
@themightyant There's also no reason TO think the PS6 would be any cheaper. Honestly, that would shock me more. It would make zero sense.
Re: PS5 Pro Announced, Costs $700 and Out in November
I wasn't going to buy it but after reading all the salty comments, I think I might. Still gonna sell out and still gonna be scalped.
Re: Star Wars Outlaws' Instant Fail Stealth Sections Will Be Reworked in Upcoming PS5 Patch
Don't bother. The whole game is an instant fail.

Re: Soapbox: Astro's Playroom PS5 Did Live Service and You Didn't Even Notice
Anything done in a minamilsitic way is fine by me. Just beating you over the head with something is a different tune.

More westernized garbage.
Re: NBA 2K25 Guide: How to Conquer the Basketball Court
I jabe nothing...
Re: Astro Bot (PS5) - One of the Greatest PlayStation Platformers of All Time
"Playstation platformer." Bit of an oxymoron. Not a lot of games to compete with in that field, but I'm sure it's great.
Re: Minecraft's Weird Live Action Movie Is Going to Be Massive, Isn't It?
Garbage Man sounds oddly foreshadowing of what I believe will suffer a similar fate of Borderlands. There be garbage here, man.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Star Wars Outlaws?
Western developers just worry about everything but gameplay.
Re: PlayStation Fans Think Hideo Kojima's Teasing PS5 Pro, But It's One Hell of a Reach

Sucks getting old, my brain is thinking "what bots?" Even though I played the hell out of that game.

@LifeGirl Have you just realized there's a instant gratification, or else, generation? Actually, think there are at least two since the 90s.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024?
It's very clear a lot of Western gaming companies took a left turn in Albuquerque. How do people keep funding this crap?
Re: Round Up: What Was Announced During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024?
Looks like all the companies have just decided that they'd rather pursue one interest over entertainment. Wake me when it's over.
