Yeah, this was on my maybe list for the 2026 game budget and I've just removed it. More time for all the other games who don't use AI coming out in 2026, plus my 2025 backlog
The pandemic had a huge effect on the launch of the PS5, no doubt about it, but I blame Jim Ryan and the live service push as well as the closure of Japan Studios for why the library has been so poor. I’ve loved the ps4 backwards compatibility so that I can continue to play last gen games, but I think the ps5 would have been a hug failure without it. I hope to see a greater commitment to single player games, which is their forte, and not trying to squirm their way into the live service market hoping to win the Fortnite lottery
Definitely not worth waking up at 3:50am for but Keighley did at least try to manage our expectations going into it. Would have liked a little surprise after the ratchet and clank demo to end on an exciting note
Nothing in this presentation made me say "Wow, now I need to get an XBOX". Lots of Console Launch Exclusives which is very vague in terms of where it will be coming to. After the PS5 event, I was ecstatic and couldn't wait for next gen Resident Evil, Spiderman and Deathloop. There was nothing about the Xbox Event that made me excited for Next Gen. I'm hoping that Gamescom will fill in some of the gaps in the launch year calendar. Fingers crossed for the Hogwarts game to finally be officially revealed
I kind've hope this isn't true simply because it'd be too out of nowhere. I want to be prepared for this kind of event, not have it sprung on me 2 days before so I don't have time to clear my schedule
I have bought way more games this generation than any other so this is incredibly comforting for me. It also means I won’t have a console where there is almost nothing to play on it for months. If i’m going to upgrade, i’d prefer not to have to switch to my ps4 every time I want to play kingdom hearts 3
It feels weird that we've had almost nothing from Sony since last e3. I'm glad they're deciding to go with a Nintendo Direct style model for this year at least
@JJ2 And as I said, it's about how you read the tone. I read "Come on Insomniac, you said you were listening" as whiney, angry and rude, whereas you read it as politely asking for more content.
I got to play the demo at PAX AU last weekend. Twice at the Square Enix booth which was like an hour long queue and then for over half an hour because there were 3 unattended stations at the XBOX booth. I just waltzed up, asked if there was a line, which there wasn't, and then played through the Toy Story demo for as long as I wanted. It feels like a finished game, much like the RE2 demo I played, and I'm very much looking forward to sinking my teeth in this January
Oh maaaaan, I was really looking forward to smashing this out before going back to uni in March. Now i’ll probably have to wait til June to get some big sessions in
It was a really fun trophy to get. It felt like they were rewarding you for exploring the world. I still haven't gotten the Uncharted 4 platinum because I'm stuck in the second last chapter on crushing difficulty with low ammo.
I'm kind've glad this got pushed to the first half of 2018. There's alot of good stuff coming out right now, so it stands more of a chance releasing in Feb, except for Anthem and Metro releasing on the same day
I’d like it if they skip Paris games week so there’s more packed into the PSX keynote. I definitely felt it last year. It seemed like they’d put everything into Paris games week and the game awards so there was nothing left for psx. I live in Australia so the location doesn’t really matter to me. I just love having the game awards and psx packed in together
I really enjoyed the opening ceremony, but that xbox briefing was such as waste of time. I fell asleep halfway through and skipped through the rest of it in the morning. Just bundles after bundles and alot of unnecessary talk
I always love watching this. I've watched it alongside the Easy Allies stream for the past 2 years and they make it extra fun since their gaming choices skew a bit more Japanese
I'm really glad it had a successful launch week. I played it over the weekend after handing in my final assignment for the semester and loved it. I'll be jumping back in to fix up some late game mistakes in the next week and I can't wait
I'm hoping that the PS5 is very similar to the PS4 from a development standpoint so that the first party teams are able to adapt and make game without having to overcome that initial hardware hurdle. Having played God of War and Detroit in the past month, I'm really excited to see more games at this level of quality.
I've always played the campaigns of COD and haven't played multiplayer since Modern Warfare 2. I was super excited to see what they did since all of the Black Ops instalments have had great campaigns. Sad to say Black Ops IIII just isn't for me. I'll be stuck in RDR2 for months anyway so I'm not majorly disappointed.
I've been sold since the first concept art. I trust Rockstar to make a solid game and each trailer makes the game look even better. I was a little disappointed with Trailer #3 because there was no lack of gameplay but I suppose that's just me being greedy. We'll be getting it the same day as PAX AUS down under which was the same release date as AC: Origins, Wolfenstein 2 and Mario Odyssey last year. Seems like that date is going to be a consistently good day for games
I voted Ghost of Tsushima since TLOU2 is already confirmed to appear and I feel like sucker punch have way more to prove with this new IP. That gameplay snippet that was shown at the end of the reveal trailer had me super hyped and i’d love to see some extended gameplay to really get a sense of how ghost of Tsushima plays
I loved Alan wake and enjoyed Quantuk Break but have always felt that their type of game would find a better audience with PlayStation and their single player focused titles
I think it's important to say that although devkits have gone out, it is just SemiAccurate's speculation that it'll be released in 2018. Those dev kits could be for companies like Guerilla Games who are planning on releasing the next Horizon on the PS5 and have only just begun development for a PS5 launch year release
Wow, this actually looks really good (minus the generic skybox). I was quite turned off by the original fig campaign footage but i would absolutely play it if it looked like this
The Last of Us 2 Gameplay is all I need. Ghost of Tsushima getting an on stage demo similar to Spiderman last year would be awesome. I've also just become really excited for what Naughty Dog do after TLOU2. They've closed the book on Uncharted for at least 5 years (not an actual number just my guesstimate) so what do they bring next? Uncharted in space would be awesome but i'm sure whatever they do it will knock our socks off
Kingdom Hearts 3 Red Dead Redemption 2 God of War Detroit: Become Human Spiderman Days Gone Wolf Among Us: Season 2 Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Shadow of the Colossus Those are my confirmed must-buys for the year and we don't even know half the games coming out in the second half of 2018
Really surprised this hasn't received a release date yet considering it's slated for an early 2018 release. They've run out of big events to reveal the release date at in that case so maybe they end their game informer campaign with a trailer and release date?
I wonder if they’ll actually show anything fir death stranding or if keighly is just calling in all of his celebrity favours to get as many viewers as possible
“Domestic violence isn’t a game and this simply trivialises it”. I wholeheartedly disagree. I don’t believe this politician really did their research. As someone living in Australia where we only recently got an R18+ rating, it pains me to see this. This game is not about child abuse, it’s a very unique narrative driven “adventure” game that happens to contain child abuse if you fail to intervene. Also, why would children be harmed by this? What part of the game allows you to abuse children? Also Weren’t beyond two souls and heavy rain MA and R18? I assume Detroit will be as well and that should do more than enough to protect those likely to be offended. The ratings are there for a reason. Don’t force artists to censor their work because you’re not a responsible enough parent to stop your child playing a game rated well above their age range

What are you doing Japan!? My poor wallet!
Re: Square Enix Bringing Big Guns to Gamescom 2018
That's such a good lineup. I'm hoping they at least bring KH3 to PAXAU this year. They brought the 0.2 demo two years ago so surely they will

Kingdom Hearts 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
God of War
Detroit: Become Human
Spiderman
Days Gone
Wolf Among Us: Season 2
Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom
Shadow of the Colossus
Those are my confirmed must-buys for the year and we don't even know half the games coming out in the second half of 2018
