I know if all my friends were being murdered in the woods that I'd be relaxing in a hot tub, too...
seriously though, I'm looking forward to playing through this game a few times and seeing what it has to offer. The B movie-ness does not bother me in the least.
The shooting in that first trailer reminds me of Mass Effect 3, which to me is not a bad thing at all. Personally I can't wait for this game. The gameplay might be standard issue, but not every game out there has to be a revolution. Great graphics, cool setting, and solid third-person shooter mechanics?? I'd be just fine with that
Interesting. I'm not one who gets bent out of shape when third-party games skip the Wii U, but the fact that this game is coming to the Vita of all things (which I happily own) seems weird to me.
I'm aware that it's not a simple matter, but people have been asking for this to properly be remade since the PS2-era. Why not actually please the fans for a change?
Now why couldn't the Ready at Dawn folks have gone all out like this?? I'm still looking forward to The Order more than this title, but if I cared about the Uncharted series this would certainly get me excited.
In an era when everything gets remade or updated or re-released under a "definitive" or "game of the year" label, why would they not do the same for Final Fantasy VII and actually have the thing look modern?
Who cares? This one won't work when it's launched either.
Frig this annoys me. Unity shipped as a buggy, unfinished mess, and already all Ubisoft is concerned about is getting another AC game out the door next November. It too will be unpolished, but yet people will buy it again, and on and on the cycle will go.
Great read, but I'm still going to wait until 2015. Until Dawn and The Order are the two titles that I've had my eye on for a long time now. Until then I'll happily stick with my Wii U and PS3.
As somebody who just isn't an online gamer, the core single player racing experience is what I was most looking forward to in this title. Now that those collusion penalties have been addressed my initial excitement about the game is starting to return. I'll likely get a PS4 sometime in 2015, so hopefully I'll get this game in the end.
Great job, Robert. Hopefully this is the type of wake-up call that Ubisoft so badly needs. Polish - no wait, finish your damn games before you release them. There is no excuse for a game that has supposedly been in development for 3 years to run so poorly on the PS4.
But yet I'm sure within a couple of months AC V will be announced for a November 2015 release. The cycle continues. Like taxes, Christmas, and bad Sonic games - Ubisoft releasing a new AC title every year is something you can count on.
Personally I wouldn't buy an Xbox One even if it were free. I'm a Sony and Nintendo gamer and no temporary price drop is going to change that over night. Microsoft can lower the price all they want. Microsoft's exclusive titles have never appealed to me and besides those IPs pretty much everything comes to both Microsoft and Sony consoles anyways. Yes, DriveClub has been an absolute disaster, but I know in the long run that the PS4 is going to have the gaming library that I actually care about and want to play. All the Xbox fanboys can enjoy Halo 5, 6, and 7 this generation, along with their Call of Duty maps a week early. Whoopty doo.
I thought it was just Nintendo fanboys who hated Pachter...
How dare the man do his job and make predictions about the video game industry. Why these predictions or opinions bother everybody is beyond me. Just enjoy the games and consoles that you enjoy and if you don't like what he has to say then just disregard it. How about you just play your games instead of complaining about him on message boards??
Competition is the best thing for the video game industry. It's what leads to better games, meaning that we all win in the end. Look at the Genesis and the SNES. So many classics on both systems, and that's because Sega and Nintendo were going toe-to-toe in the early to mid 90s. That's what we need Sony and Microsoft to do... and Nintendo can just do their own thing in the corner.
That was truly a great read. This is about what I expected. I always knew that I'd buy a PS4 a good two or more years into its life cycle. I didn't buy a PS3 until July of 2013, so you can imagine the wonderful backlog of titles that I had at my disposal by that time.
I already have a feeling that The Order is going to get middle of the road reviews, just like DriveClub, but The Order is the one PS4 title that I have been looking forward to since it was first announced. I'll be getting that game regardless of how many average scores it gets.
I own two Vita games. Tearaway - which was a fantastic experience but not really something that I envision playing again anytime soon. And Lumines: Electronic Symphony. Lumines I play almost everyday and have played for over 100 hours since I bought my Vita. Seeing as Lumines is really the only game I ever play on the system, and I like to play when I'm sitting in front of the TV during a baseball or basketball game, PS TV doesn't appeal to me in the least.
Pretty sure this is a non-issue. We all know PS4 software is going to look outstanding for years to come. If there's thing Sony has proved time and time again it's that their consoles have serious legs.
Earlier in the week I started my third playthrough of Mass Effect 3 on my Wii U, so I'll probably finish that up this weekend. I'll probably also spend some time with Forza 4 as well.
What's this? Another high profile PS4 game being delayed (potentially anyways)?? This is getting discouraging.
Remember when Drive Club was supposed to come out at launch? And then sometime in Q1? Considering that Drive Club and The Order are the two games that I'm holding out for all these delays aren't really giving me that much confidence here.
Even Sony's surprised at how well the PS4 is selling? Imagine how it'll sell once its games actually come out.
Why the hell would you pick the game up and never actually play it? If you think the first one sucked then how about not wasting your money on the sequel...
I remember I was a Nintendo-only gamer until the Wii U came out. After realizing that the Wii U was never going to get decent third-party support and that the third-party games that it does have simply don't work all that well (every third-party game I've ever played on the system has crashed multiple times on me) I finally said "the hell with this!" I bought a PS3 and never looked back.
The Wii U is great if you just want things with Mario in the title. I do, but I also want other stuff, too. I love my PS3 and will be buying a PS4 next year. Way to push away a life-time loyal customer, Nintendo...

Three Final Fantasy 13 games?? Enough said...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 48
Tomb Raider (2013) on PS3, and Smash Bros. on Wii U.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 47
Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8, and Call of Duty Ghosts.

Re: Review: Tales of Hearts R (PlayStation Vita)

Cool man. Thanks for the reply. I've enjoyed the other three games in the series that I've played so I'm sure I'll pick this up at some point in 2015.
Re: Review: Tales of Hearts R (PlayStation Vita)
@get2sammyb
Thanks man. It's a minor point for me, just curious. As somebody who still plays plenty of Nintendo games I'm used to having to read everything
Re: Review: Tales of Hearts R (PlayStation Vita)
Nice review. If I pick this up it'll be my 4th Tales game, and now that I think about it I would have played all of them on a different system.
Anyways one question; is English voice acting included or is the only option to go with the Japanese voice track?
Re: Round Up: Far Cry 4 PS4 Reviews Scale the Highest Mountains

Re: Feature: Four of Assassin's Creed Unity's Most Gloriously Ghastly PS4 Glitches
When I was a kid developers actually finished their games before releasing them.
This is absolute garbage. The game is not finished. Plain and simple.
Re: Assassin's Creed Unity Ain't Sounding Especially Slick on PS4
Maybe if Ubisoft actually polished their games as opposed to rushing them out the door each and every November things like this wouldn't happen.
III, Black Flag, and now Rogue and Unity... all within 3 years. It's no wonder these games are a buggy mess.

Bayonetta 2 demo, mainly.
Re: Evolution Studios: We're As Frustrated About DriveClub Issues As You Are

Wow look at all those comments. What is this? A Nintendo Life article with the word 'Ubisoft' in the title?
Re: Wait, Metal Gear Solid V and Silent Hills Are Set in the Same Universe?

Finished my second new game plus of Mass Effect 3 on Wii U, and lots of Mario Kart 8 with the girlfriend.
Re: Grand Theft Auto V PS4 Hijacks the Next-Gen on 18th November
I think I'll hold out for the Wii U version. I can only imagine how the Wii U GamePad could make the experience even better.
