"Brothers, we have a problem"

Assassin’s Creed Unity is now officially out in North America, meaning that many people are already sprinting across the Parisian skyline on the PlayStation 4. Well, they’re trying to at least. Reports surfacing all over the web suggest that the title is a bit of a buggy mess – and don’t worry, this appears to apply to all formats rather than just Sony's super machine.

We only received our review copies today – and can’t comment on them anyway, as we’re under embargo still – but reports on both Reddit and Dealspwn suggest that the title is suffering from some serious issues, including pop-in, geometry glitches, and framerate plunges way, way below the intended 30 frames-per-second. Not exactly promising, huh?

We’ll try to provide you with some early hands-on impressions as and when the embargo lifts later today, but if you’re planning to purchase the game, you may want to exercise a little caution before handing over your hard earned cash. We've got our fingers crossed that this is all a bit of a storm in a fine French teacup, though.
