Re: Push Scare: Why You Should Brave Outlast on PS4 This Hallowe'en

fluggy

Great games! Outlast 2 defo on my top 3 Most Wanted list. Not sure what direction the series is going after playing the demo - hopefully it elaborates on the original story. Would love them to have a surprise VR mode ready for its release. Would be super scary in VR. Played the original again yesterday and its pretty scary in PSVR cinematic mode.

Re: Review: Wayward Sky (PS4)

fluggy

Really enjoyed Wayward Sky. Bit repetitive and if it was just a 2D experience doubt I would have enjoyed it all that much. You really do feel like youve entered a new world though. Graphics are pretty without being highly detailed. Gameplay was mainly 1 type of rope puzzle over and over and did get a tad repetitive after a while. The last part climbing to the top of the tower on the robot really feels epic. (Really wish there was a Kratos VR sequence climbing Mount Olympus on Gaia)! Theres also a weird "mini game" (its no fun at all) where you have to put windchime pieces onto a dangling thing. Really dont see the point and added nothing to game. Overall a great experience - the visuals and the back story animations are all incredibly charming and touching.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 141

fluggy

Batman VR .... everyday - not bored of it yet!!! Just finished Wayward Sky ... gorgeous visuals and story - puzzles are a tad repetative though. End scene on top of the robot is about as epic as games gets!! Then Emily Wants To Play .... if im brave enough. Playing it with the VR headset really ups the scariness! Had to yank it off a few times!

Re: Talking Point: How's Your PlayStation VR Hype Holding Out?

fluggy

..... just went to Batcomputer and selected Killer Croc profile, put the third "action" cartridge (where he roars down on you) in the console and pressed pause.... Then called my 7 year old boy over n told him I wanted to show him something . Lol. Jumped out his skin when I unpaused. He wont be hastling me for another shot of "daddys blue torch glasses" anytime soon.

Re: Talking Point: How's Your PlayStation VR Hype Holding Out?

fluggy

I took a punt and loved it instantly. Hard to explain to someone who hasnt tried it but it really is amazing ... when it works. I can turn it on one minute and its smooth as silk ... turn it on half hour later without changing anything, and the controllers are twitching like crazy, vision drifts all over the place. Really is frustrating. Sometimes I try and rectify it for an hour, then rip the headset off in a rage as nothing seems to fix it - lighting, camera position, recalibrating seem to have zero effect. I wonder if the processor box can overheat as I always have best results in the morning after its been turned off overnight. Still, exceptional when it works ... just hope firmware updates can fix these issues.

Re: Review: The Playroom VR (PS4)

fluggy

Best part was watching my son spend all the earned coins on the ball machine and kitting out the playroom with all the monsters, characters, vehicles etc. The whole package is a tad limited but considering its free its a more than worthwhile intro to VR. Theres potentially a whole new world of asymmetrical gameplay if devs can just work out how to utilize it better than Ninty could with Wii U.

Re: PlayStation VR Has Sold Out on Amazon in UK and US

fluggy

I walked into Game yesterday n bought one. No probs with stock! ... what really must piss people off is CEX selling second hand base packages for £410. 2nd hand Move controllers used to be £5 in CEX .... £60 each now. I bought my PS4 camera two years ago on ebay for £5 .... 48.95 for 2nd hand one from CEX. Amazing that Moves have been resurrected and the price has shot right up for what was undersupported/obsolete peripherals.I was lucky I already had all the hardware requirements ... otherwise I wouldve probably thought twice about investing.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Switch Knocks the Final Nail in PS Vita's Coffin

fluggy

Dont agree at all. My fave Vita/3DS games are all full console experiences. Never enjoyed watered down mobile gaming on phones or tablets. The Vita was rendered DOA by Sony on its release due to some very cynical design choices. Extortionate Memory cards and lack of a full suite of buttons effectively killed it off. Sony couldve easily resurrected it when they released the revised edition by really promoting PS4 remote play adding l2/l3 r2/r3 and using micro sd. Most PS4 owners wouldve jumped at the chance for a perfect remote play experience. Unfortunately they never listened to the public's criticism first time round and continued with those shady, greedy practices with the Vita V2.0. Shame .... Vita had such potential.

Re: Store Update: 11th October 2016 (Europe)

fluggy

VR would be a definite for me if watching movies and off-TV play for standard PS4 games was up to scratch. Apparently its pretty pants. . . Buying what is essentially a new system for a dozen or so demo-esque VR experiences is hard to justify at this point.

Re: Hands On: Playing Non-VR PS4 Games on PlayStation VR

fluggy

That was maybe the biggest draw for me ... playing horror games like Outlast and P.T. and watching movies in media player. Thought it would be great to replace Remote Play on the ill-conceived Vita with a PSVR and dual shock 4. Wish they had managed to make it possible without that sizeable drop in resolution.

Re: Hardware Review: PlayStation VR - The Future of Play

fluggy

Dang... I was really looking forward to playing terrifying PS4 games like Outlast and P.T. again with the headset to see if the sense of immersion is increased... but given the drop in resolution, I might not bother picking up VR just yet. Also, was hoping some horror games would have you constantly looking over your shoulder to see if something was following you ... alas.. no! Was also hoping this would be my new preffered remote play device... Bit disappointed.

Re: Review: Resident Evil 4 (PS4)

fluggy

10/10 ... maybe at one time .... this was HD on PS3 ... i'm guessing not much has changed in the way it looks/plays. Wish they actually gave it the remastering it deserves, ie, new textures/models ect!!!! Really is a wasted opportunity!!! Wish I had a reason to purchase it again!!

Re: Review: Inside (PS4)

fluggy

Loved Inside. Right on par with Limbo, ie ... Fantastic! The whole game is like some tense, vivid, horrific nightmare. From eerie beginning to a "Bodysnatchers-esque" ending, it's never anything less than thrilling. Wish I hadn't played it so I could do it again for 1st time.

Re: A New PS Vita Is on the Way? Don't Believe Everything You Read

fluggy

Sony already had a chance to completely overhaul the Vita and give us what we want.... ie, No propriety memory cards and extra buttons for remote play!! Did we get it ... no... and now its doomed!! Those 2 little changes wouldve seen the Vita 2000 flying of the shelves as a must have for every PS4 owner! I still love my Vita (after the extra expense; 64GB Card and L2/R2 attachment - money I should never have had to pay if it was designed for the consumer and not to line Sony pockets)! Remote play couldve been so much better if it had the same controls as PS4 - a real missed opportunity! Having to buy extra buttons for a games console to make games playable in 2016 isnt acceptable!!!

Re: Feature: Three Reasons Why Sonic Mania on PS4 Will Be Rad

fluggy

Sonic should've been killed off a long time ago. Think he was overrated to begin with. The originals haven't really aged that well and the modern games have been below average to rotten. I get bored after playing Sonic for 5 mins. Not like Mario World, which I still revisit often.

Re: Review: Headlander (PS4)

fluggy

Really liked this game but it started to wear thin by the end. Problem is the power ups are largely ignorable. Once you can tug a robots head off theres little need to use the blaster power ups, bomb, thrust etc. I found everything and fully levelled up BUT I didn't feel at all more powerful towards the end. Since the way you progress is through colours of identical droids, the power ups play a less important role. Its not like metroid where you get a cool new tool/weapon to progress. You just change from one robot to another. Good game, maybe an 8 for me!

Re: Review: Chambara (PS4)

fluggy

This would be brilliant on Wii U where u cant see the other guys screen.... Or remote play where Vita could be one screen while the other is on the tele.

Re: Battleborn Flopped Incredibly Hard, But Take-Two Hasn't Lost Hope

fluggy

Hardly surprising given the justifiably poor reception. They also had the disadvantage that Overwatch released to great reviews. Still, these devs must know they're games are substandard when they release them. Think they should've sold it at £20 initially to try n boost sales in at least get it into as many homes as possible. Really does highlight the importance of playtesting/quality control. It's an awful lot of effort, time and money to waste on a poor product. Pretty Pointless!

Re: Review: Headlander (PS4)

fluggy

Loving this!!! Like a cross between Super Metroid and Steamworld Heist!! Played for 3 hours THEN - a damn gamebreaking bug!!!! When ur turning off the 3 coloured lift shields, if you stop playing without completing the task, u end up in a closed off section under a lift that can only be controlled by your head ... ie you cant get to it because its connected to the platform above!! Don't know why the lift went back up to that floor. think I mustve activated it then boosted the head off and flew underneath while it was going up!! Nightmare though!! Started again, still loving it!!!

Re: People Really Aren't Happy with August's PlayStation Plus Games

fluggy

..... all they have to do is give us GOOD GAMES!! Not 5/10 or 6/10 games. Anything that gets an average of 85% plus on Metacritic would do fine for me (yes, Metacritic is a decent way to decide if a game is for you or not!!) Its game after game of below average, bargain bin crap we seem to be getting. Theres 100s of PSP classics for Vita if your ever short of quality, PS3 obviously has its bases covered and PS4 has tons of good smaller games too!! Each month should be a no-brainer!!

Re: System Shock Hacks into the PS4 Following Fan Demand

fluggy

Few days ago I typed in "Top 20 scariest PC games" in to google. S Shock came up so downloaded it. Played it yesterday .... It's an ugly, unplayable, pixelated relic!!! Gamepad mapping is a no-no with these controls but, even with the mouse, the controls are awful. Couldn't even turn to thump the first robot that attacked me. I'll buy the PS4 remake as I'm definitely still curious bout it.

Re: God of War PS4 Axes Multiplayer

fluggy

Great!!! Ascension was my biggest gaming disappointment (along with Resi 6 and Dead Space 3). All campaigns in those games were compromised by spending time and resources to create needless (in my opinion) multiplayers. Never enjoyed any of these games in multiplayer.... Glad its gone!

Re: The Maligned Mighty No. 9 Is 'Better Than Nothing', Says Creator

fluggy

"Better than nothing!!????" Unfortunately for this appalling game, nothing is NOT an option. There's thousands of other far superior action platformers to invest in. What a crappy attitude. It's like paying £1000s for a nose job .. only to find out a binman is carrying out the op... "oh well, better than nothing!!!"

Re: Could There Be a Secret Ending to Resident Evil 7's Demo?

fluggy

Rubbish, boring demo!! Downloaded it and looked forward to the evening - setting"an hour" aside to play it!! 4 mins later ... the end!! Wasn't impressed at all. PT was very realistic ... This just looked like any old video game!!! PT was terrifying .... this is cheesy, not-scary rubbish!!

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS4 Game at E3 2016?

fluggy

Has to be God of War!! Playing all of them again chronologically just now. Finished Ascension and Chains of Olympus, now on GoW HD BUT hit a gamebreaking bug at the Atlas statue!!! Hope new one keeps a similar combo system. . . some people say its a stale formula but don't think i'll ever get bored of it!!!

Re: Resident Evil 5 Punches Rocks on PS4 from 28th June

fluggy

Loved Resi 5. Very hard to fault. Liked the African setting and baddies... (Which doesn't make it racist-was it racist that everyone in Resi 4 was white? ((well, apart from that bad ass mini-gun mutha))! The co-op A.I. was decent too. I'll prob snap this one up again for PS4.
