Re: Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Shows Its Hand on PS5, PS4

djdizzy

Test Drive, man that’s some nostalgic throwback. I didn’t know they still made this series and I got to say, I’m intrigued. I can’t wait to see gameplay and read reviews to see how the cars feel. I don’t know about “life simulator” though as I’m unfamiliar with the Unlimited series.

In fact I haven’t played a Test Drive game since Test Drive 5 (PS1, 1998), it was an awesome standout racer for the time. I grew up playing Test Drive II: The Duel (Amstrad, 1989) which was very rough but somewhat impressive in a way for the time.

Re: Days Gone Lead Designer Thanks Fans for Playing the Game No Matter How Much Money They Spent

djdizzy

@Flaming_Kaiser “ People want more but dont want to pay its that easy and some cant thats a thing to.”

This is very true about everything. I have to deal with that constantly in my industry as well. It’s no excuse for the director getting saucy at the game’s target audience.

Personally I enjoyed Days Gone on PS5 but if I had bought it at full price on PS4 then I likely would’ve been frustrated by the game’s many problems pre-patch. And the thing is, it may no longer be full price by the time it’s fully patched up.

Sony should be the target of his frustration, not a portion of the gamers. It’s not like they bootlegged it, some people show more support than others which is another universal fact just like people demanding more for less. Welcome to normal life, director.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 372

djdizzy

@zekepliskin Yeah this is my first playthrough. Thanks for the tips! I’m still at the beginning, the Griffin’s killed me a couple times but I didn’t do any side quests. So I just have the beginning equipment. I’ll do some side quests first and keep an eye out for equipment upgrades before I give the Griffon another shot.

Ratchet & Clank on PS5 with the 60fps update.

I think I’m close to the end of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and also Control.

I played the RE Village demo for 30 mins last night. Such a tease!

I’ve also just begun Witcher 3 and will start Nier Automata once I finish FF7 Remake.

I’m drowning in amazing first playthroughs over here 👍

Re: Rumour: Multiple Parties Interested in Square Enix Buyout

djdizzy

Come on Sony, do it. Put all those Walkman profits to good use and make them an offer they can’t refuse.

In all seriousness, Sony needs good Japanese Dev talent but I’d rather SE stay independent. And the idea of Microsoft buying SE is like nightmare fuel to me.

Re: New Returnal PS5 Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Some Creepy Enemies and Bosses

djdizzy

I’m really feeling this game but told myself it’ll wait b/c RE Village is on the way. But now I’m getting more hyped about Returnal.

Like others said, I really hope it’s not like Dark Souls in space (it’s be more like Bloodborne from the looks of the fast action). It will definitely be fast but I want it to be more fun than serious difficulty. Hopefully it’ll be more arcade-y which seems to be Housemarque’s shtick 👍

Re: Poll: Do You Use These Two Forgotten PS5 Features?

djdizzy

I never heard of Accolades. I don’t play online outside of matchmaking because I don’t have any PSN friends :/

I don’t even know how you’re supposed to make PSN friends. But whenever I randomly meet someone online in DMC5 I always give them a S Rank.

Re: Reaction: Days Gone Was PS4's Black Sheep, But a Darn Good Open World Game

djdizzy

@OmegaStriver his name being Deacon and calling his wife “old lady” are odd things to complain about in a game. I’ve known bikers that call their wife “old lady” so it seemed very authentic to me. He had his “colors” on at all times, he walked the part, talked the part.

Personally I dug Days Gone and enjoy zombie games but am ok with it not having a sequel. Not a big fan of TLoU’s gameplay, maybe I’ll like the remake but I’ve yet to play a Naughty Dog game to completion b/c their gameplay is always so bad imo.

Re: Resident Evil Re:Verse Beta Pulled Offline Just Hours After Launch

djdizzy

The problem I have with this, even as a free game, is the same problem I had with Resistance. It’s garage and its resources could’ve gone into the main game. In RE3’s case, it needed it bc it potentially could’ve been fantastic with more content.

If Capcom wants a successful co-op RE, scroll to the posts above which is what people want.

Re: Days Gone 2 Not Given the Greenlight, Sony Bend Working on Something New

djdizzy

@Medic_Alert True story. Sony is going with critical reception and sales. While sales pays the bills, it’s not reflective of a franchise headed in a good direction.

Look at RE6 which sold like gangbusters but Capcom knew they had a problem and had to go back to the drawing board. Would a massive corporation like Sony be able to do the same? Doubtful. It’d end badly with lots of studio closures and layoffs.

Re: Feature: What 25 Years of Resident Evil Means to Game Developers

djdizzy

@LiamCroft thanks for this fantastic article from a fellow RE fan 👍

Joss Herraez’ story was my favorite because it was so relatable. I kept nodding my head while reading it.

The original Resi 1 is my favorite. I remember playing it on my Saturn and the infamous “zombie dog jumps through the window” scene happened. It’s the first time a video game made me jump and it left a lasting impression. As everyone here knows, the atmosphere of the entire game was phenomenal. I’ve been hooked since and have been very happy about RE’s return to form in recent years.

Re: Upcoming PS5, PS4 Games for April and May 2021

djdizzy

More solid games than I have time for. This is a good problem to have. The must-buys for me are:

Resi Village (a friend preordered this for me as a bday gift)
Returnal (going to finish Control first)
Biomutant (going to finish DMC5 SE first)
Nier Replicant (going to pickup Automata first though)

Re: Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition (PS5) - The Definitive Version of a Truly Exceptional Action Game

djdizzy

I just picked it up for PS5 and I’ve been playing 10/10 games lately, some tough acts to follow. But I gotta say, this game has some of the most fun moments I’ve had playing a game... in a very long time. And I’m not even very far into the game yet.

I just got to the part where you start playing as V. At first I was disappointed to not play as Nero anymore. But man, V is a blast to play with! Especially V’s first boss battle, it’s just so good. This game gets better and better. And I haven’t even gotten to play with Dante or Vergel yet.

Re: Poll: Have You Been Experiencing Drift on Your DualSense PS5 Controller?

djdizzy

I’ve been using my DualSense controller heavily since Nov. I read the article about the PS5 drift lawsuit on PlayStation Lifestyle. I got drift from my dual analogs just hours later. In Ghost of Tsushima my horse banked hard to the right, I took my thumbs off the sticks and it was still drifting.

It hasn’t happened since but my DualSense is cursed now and I blame the article.

Re: NBA 2K21 (PS5) - An Ambitious Effort That Excels on the Court

djdizzy

I grew up playing NBA Jam & NBA Live 95. The most recent NBA game I’ve played were on Dreamcast. I’m really considering this one on PS5 but the Metacritic reviews are awful. But I wonder if it’s legit a bad game or low ratings b/c it’s no different from NBA 2k2. Would you recommend this game to me who doesn’t have the previous entries or is it a legit bad/broken game?

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Sells 104,687 Copies At Launch in Japan

djdizzy

@Col_McCafferty You’re right. I don’t understand adults who would prefer Nintendo’s library of games (any Nintendo generation).

We can’t forget the magnitude that mobile gaming have replaced console gaming. That’s another thing I really don’t understand. I get the convenience but the quality of the games and lack of setup (tv or monitor for screen size and controller). I don’t get it.

Re: Resident Evil: Director's Cut - Iconic Survival Horror

djdizzy

I loved RE in the day. I’ve only played Resident Evil 1 (PS1 & Saturn), Resident Evil 2 (PS1) and spent 30 mins with Resident Evil (GameCube 2002). I just ordered RE2 remake (PS4), not having played a RE game in eons. I have no idea what I’m in for but am looking forward to RE2 remake arriving!
