Re: Babylon's Fall Still Going Ahead with Second Season of Content

I might be in the minority but this is kind of sad. These folks are still putting in work for a truly unbelievable low amount of players, in a way it's admirable even if their game isn't very good. Hopefully the updates are decent a few more folks pick it up just to make the work feel worthwhile.

Re: PS5, PS4 Harry Potter Game Hogwarts Legacy Has Official ASMR Now

I haven't been into HP since I was a child some 20 years ago and I have very strong feelings about... things... but I can't help but be incredibly excited about this game. Something about the idea of exploring that school is just so appealing and especially if it's a nicely drawn-out journey.

Re: Here's Your First Look at Netflix's Resident Evil

@Would_you_kindly It's fiction based off of a videogame about zombie mutant creatures. That folks get offended, or just shocked, that something as inoffensive as race gets changed is absolutely hilarious given the nature of the source material.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Reassures Fans That Expansions Are in the Works

I feel like a lot of the present day criticism about the game being unfinished is coming from folks who were burned at launch and haven't bothered to give it a second chance since.

It's in a really pleasant state right now. It's not perfect but it's a good game at this point and it's nice to see that it's still getting attention from the people that made it. It's hardly a disastrous experience.

Re: Best Open World Games on PS5

For me it's Spider-Man by a mile. It's the only game that I've fully completed and still play just to travel around the world for 10-15 minutes of relaxation.

Re: Best Sports Games on PS5

Really, really disappointed by the offering of sports games on this console. Not saying everything needs to be like FM or OOTP but the lack of any type of meaty franchise modes from most, if not all, of the big brand names makes me want to ignore them completely. F1 probably my favorite out of all of these despite that complaint.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Gran Turismo 7?

bozz

@mucc People can't act disappointed when a game that has been in development for years by a major team launches with a flawed experience with a truly catastrophic patch soon after?

So when would it be okay to fairly evaluate this game, after how many years? What are we even doing here if we can't expect a better product at launch and have to wait for years for it to be in a state which we'd like it to be?

@Kairu I'm a Ferrari guy so I'm not taking sides but I think your last statement is how I see it. It took Max being incredible and Lewis having a down year by his standards just for Max to be level with him going into the last race. A smidge in either direction and yeah, I see Hamilton being champ yet again (that's not to speak of the last race fiasco).

Re: Elden Ring Easy Mode Isn't Happening on PS5, PS4

bozz

@dschons lol what consequences? It's just a difficulty setting, you're completely free to ignore it if it's not your kind of thing. These are made-up consequences, you don't see other difficult games with difficulty settings suffer because of them (look at Cuphead for example). Again, if the entire perception of a game is tied to its extreme difficulty then that speaks pretty poorly of the rest of the game's traits.

Re: Elden Ring Easy Mode Isn't Happening on PS5, PS4

bozz

@dschons It'd be the same game for you, only more people would be able to enjoy it now. Absolutely no one would force you to play on a lower difficulty so no, it wouldn't get trashed because the option for such a difficulty would still be there. If your entire perception of a game's worth or quality is tied to its extreme difficulty gating people out then maybe the game isn't so great to begin with, and for the record I do think these are great games but not at all due to their difficulty. Be sensible about this.

"Just git gud!" they yell, as if all of us have the ability to fight through frustration and become good enough through repetition over time that we may or may not have in our personal lives.

If you love these games, that's genuinely fantastic, but treating them as if they're some holy untouchable thing that would be defiled with difficulty settings is something I've always found a bit laughable.

Re: Elden Ring (PS5) - Likely Another FromSoftware Great

bozz

@ArcadeHeroes I'm not who you're replying to but count me as someone who is turned off by the visual look of these games. I like the settings, ambiance and lore of the Souls fans but the endless shades of brown and gray in endlessly dark corridors just isn't for me. Not saying it needs to be Mario-levels bright at all, and I'm glad you dig it, but I also don't think it's absurd to not enjoy this style either.

Re: Elden Ring (PS5) - Likely Another FromSoftware Great

bozz

I'm definitely in the minority that sees this as another brown and gray Souls platter of frustration but I'm happy for those who can't wait to get playing, hope it meets expectations as I'm sure it was very competently-made if past games are anything to go by.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

bozz

@stinkyx Except it's not at all what it was a couple years ago? Like, all the changes are spelled out for anyone to see. I don't think anyone is expecting this to be a masterpiece anymore the way it was marketed but a very good game though? Yeah, that's actually the current state of it. It really has come leaps and bounds.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

bozz

@JohnGrey They've addressed a number of fundamental problems, this has been documented at more outlets than just PushSquare. It's up to you to both brush up on this and accept it while also noting that outlets like this one are still saying that it's not a perfect game. Or just be as you were and glass half empty, it's your call.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

bozz

@Juanalf I'm not who you're replying to but it feels like this is a game where a subset of the population has their minds set on an opinion based on how the launch went and it's near impossible to change that stance no matter how the game improves.

Yeah, it was launched as a broken product by some scummy folks, we all know this. But since then the team in charge has rolled out some meaningful improvements that make it a genuinely enjoyable game, both to play and look at. It's not perfect but it's still better than a large number of games that launched in perfect condition. Both can be true, that it was once a disaster but has now become something very good. People should be open to change.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

bozz

Playing it for the first time, in act 2 and loving it. It's not perfect but it's engrossing and looks great.

Genuinely can't understand the people ripping this score as if the warts of the launch version haven't been accounted for and addressed by the people still working on the game. Maybe the idea of going back and correcting their mistakes with reviewers acknowledging these improvements is too big a concept to grasp. Either way it's, at worst, a very good game now.
