@Juanalf I'm not who you're replying to but it feels like this is a game where a subset of the population has their minds set on an opinion based on how the launch went and it's near impossible to change that stance no matter how the game improves.

Yeah, it was launched as a broken product by some scummy folks, we all know this. But since then the team in charge has rolled out some meaningful improvements that make it a genuinely enjoyable game, both to play and look at. It's not perfect but it's still better than a large number of games that launched in perfect condition. Both can be true, that it was once a disaster but has now become something very good. People should be open to change.

Playing it for the first time, in act 2 and loving it. It's not perfect but it's engrossing and looks great.

Genuinely can't understand the people ripping this score as if the warts of the launch version haven't been accounted for and addressed by the people still working on the game. Maybe the idea of going back and correcting their mistakes with reviewers acknowledging these improvements is too big a concept to grasp. Either way it's, at worst, a very good game now.

I liked this game but to me it screams of a launching off point for a better sequel that builds on what we saw in the first one.

Meanwhile us fans of Bubsy II wait another day for our adaptation announcement.

@nessisonett Oh please believe that I'm quivering with anticipation for that too but something about V2's now antiquated visual style and systems will always be closer to my heart than Paradox's new direction they've gone.

Happy for those looking forward to this but I feel really bad for having absolutely zero interest in the game and feeling like I'm missing out on something. I guess I just don't see the beauty in it at all or the appeal of another Souls-type of gameplay experience, I really wish I could see what so many others seem to.

@lolwhatno I've been on the internet long enough to know that when such a label is used it's used looking down upon the person(s) it's assigned to. I just don't think that's fair but whatever, it is what it is.

@Amusei I guess I just don't get the implicit disdain for casual gaming. I play those games, but I also play the major time sinks like HZD, GoW, RDR2, FF7, etc. but I don't consider myself as playing then anything more than casually, I guess I'm not even sure how to play then as anything more unless you mean professionally. I'm probably just being pedantic here.

@vapidwolf I don't even want to be that harsh, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that's fine but given the current circumstances of the industry and what was presented yesterday from both the high-profile titles as well as the smaller ones, I just don't know how someone could be disappointed to such a degree.

@NEStalgia All they've said is that they're looking to the future with innovation in mind. Respectfully, I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion you did from such a short statement above.

I'm certainly willing to be open to whatever they release but if there was any one series that I have no problems with sticking to the tried and true, it's DQ. More of the same would be just fine with me.
