Given its anime style, Peni Parker always felt like a lock for upcoming PS5 and PC brawler Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
And here’s confirmation of her inclusion as part of the Amazing Guardians, which features previously announced characters Spider-Man, Ms Marvel, and Star Lord.

The trailer introduces the all-new heroine and her Tachikoma-style walker robot, which fills up a large chunk of the screen. She looks mobile and powerful, so should be a ton of fun to get to grips with.
Writing on the PS Blog, producer Takeshi Yamanaka said of the addition:
"One of the newly announced characters is Peni Parker. A Japanese-American student, Peni is a brilliant (and maybe a little eccentric) young scientist. She pilots SP//dr, a powerful mech suit created by her father, and fights as the spider hero of a parallel universe. In Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Peni brings SP//dr into battle, using a wide range of gadgets and unique tools to improvise strategies on the fly."
Also confirmed is a new stage, Middle of Knowhere, taken from the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Peni and the new stage will both be playable as part of a new build being brought to EVO Japan in early May, so we won’t have to wait too long to see more of her gameplay.
The beginning of the trailer has an anime-style cutscene, which perhaps gives us a glimpse of what we can expect from the release’s campaign mode when it launches later this year, on 6th August.
According to Yamanaka, the character glimpsed in this cutscene is an intergalactic MC known as the Promoter, or Xirena Awhina.
“The Promoter invites our heroes to a high-stakes tournament that will determine the fate of planet Earth,” he explained.
“How will our heroes, and villains, rise to the challenge? And is the Promoter acting alone? Stay tuned, more will be revealed soon.”
