Re: Soapbox: The Problem with ANTHEM Is That the Storm Javelin Is Way, Way More Fun than the Other Suits

alphadrago5

While I'll admit that Storm beats the other javelins in coolness, it also tends to be the first one to die in every team fight.
Now I'm not saying that the Interceptor is superior per se, though it totally is, but it can kill a pack of Scars, and then be taking down a turret and snipers before you're even done with your combo, assuming your "shield" even let you survive that long. :>

Re: ANTHEM VIP Demo Still a Mess for Many Thanks to Endless Load Screens and Frequent Disconnects

alphadrago5

The loading screen issues are awful. I've had to close and reopen the application dozens of times at this point, the worst being six times in a row, due to not being able to load past 95% before or after a mission.
Despite that though, I'm in love with the gameplay, and have had a super fun time playing the interceptor with an SMG and an explosive sniper rifle. There's a bunch of different weapons and abilities to choose from, and finding the ones that suit you best while experimenting in freeplay or missions is really enjoyable.

Most of all, the flying and movement abilities feel fantastic, in combat and exploring. Trying to master everything the javelins have to offer while in the hard mode stronghold is something I've easily been able to spend hours and hours on, and look forward to spending more time on in the following public demo and official release.

Re: Get Discounts on The Game Awards Nominees in US PlayStation Store Sale

alphadrago5

Highly recommend Dead Cells to anyone that hasn't tried it yet. The game at it's original price is already a steal and well worth it's value in replay-ability, variety, and challenge. There's so many different possible, viable play styles and due to the nature of the game, it's easy to either play for just a few minutes and beat the game in one sitting, or play for hours and hours, mixing and matching gear, and playing at your own pace.

Please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe.
FFXIV too.
I don't care about Fortnite, but for some games this is absolutely huge and a big deal. Also I'm looking forward to hearing how developers handle the "I have cosmetics on both ps4 and pc" issue.

Re: The Last of Us: Part II Is About Hate, Naughty Dog Reiterates

alphadrago5

@smelly_jr Seeing as revenge and discrimination are both closely tied to hate, we'll probably see them both fairly often in the game. I imagine that coming to terms with whether or not that hate is justified will also be a large part in Ellie's development as a character, and maybe the story as a whole.

Re: Moody Action RPG Vampyr Goes Gold Ahead of Release Next Month

alphadrago5

Very much looking forward to Vampyr. My expectations for the gameplay are low, but i'll be pleasantly surprised if it's even half as fluid as Infamous or Soulsborne. Most of all I want the morality system to be meaningful to the character development. The protagonist is a doctor with generally good intentions, so I want to see both the subtle and the not-so-subtle distinctions between the goody two-shoes, morally ambiguous, and Count Douche-ula viewpoints, side characters and all.

Dontnod dontdisappoint.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think About Remasters?

alphadrago5

I'd love to see the Dead Space trilogy and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on PS4.
Also Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 please. The second Tales of Xillia came so late in the ps3 lifespan that I didn't even finish the game before totally moving on to the PS4.

Re: Dark Souls Remastered Network Test Coming to PS4

alphadrago5

@Matroska I had no idea. Definitely gonna keep an eye out now. I was already planning to get it eventually, but I may get it day one.

Props to FromSoftware for putting in effort to make even remakes of old games higher quality..
DS1 has always been my favorite in the series, I'm happy to see it being ported properly.

Re: Ex-Mass Effect and ANTHEM Writer Leaves BioWare for Second Time

alphadrago5

The writing was actually the only thing I was looking forward to in Anthem. I figured, "If Drew Karpyshyn is working on Anthem, it has to be good!"
Not that we know enough about it to say it will do bad, but I personally have lost interest in the game, and the fact that it's a Bioware game has no where near the same effect today as it did a decade ago.

Re: A New Webseries Will Shed Some Light on DONTNOD's Vampyr

alphadrago5

Can't wait for this one. I love games that explore the morality and consequences of the player's decisions and actions.
Bioware was the king of these types of character driven games with Mass Effect, KoTOR, and Dragon Age, but I personally feel their writing had dropped in quality ever since Drew Karpyshyn left after ME2. Though apparently, he's writing for Anthem, so maybe the king isn't dead yet.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 201

alphadrago5

Been playing Nier: Automata the past week. Loving the soundtrack and gameplay, though I'm having some trouble getting invested into the characters, which is usually a big thing for me.
I'm excited to see more of the game, and hopefully I'll be done with it before Monster Hunter World comes out.

Re: Guide: Upcoming PS4 Games in 2018

alphadrago5

Most looking forward to Monster Hunter World, Detroit: Become Human, and Vampyr.
Tennis World Tour is looking really tempting though, considering the last tennis games I played were Virtua Tennis 4 and Top Spin 4.

Re: Game of the Year 2017: #1 - Persona 5

alphadrago5

@get2sammyb I appreciate your honesty about P5. It's easily my GOTY and in my top 5 of all time, and I loved everything about it, but I can't bring myself to agree with your opinion of it.
On a different note, I've never been interested in the Yakuza series before, and seeing your comment about its writing makes it seem like a game I would absolutely love. So, thanks in advance for that! I'll pick it up ASAP.
