We all know Cyberpunk 2077 is going to give you a lot of freedom when it comes to completing missions, but can you beat the game without actually killing anyone? Apparently so, according to fresh info coming out of E3 2019. As PC Gamer reports, CD Projekt Red has taken fan feedback to heart after last year's demo, and has added loads of nonlethal options to the game.
"Right now, every weapon and every cyberware has a nonlethal option," says quest designer Pawel Sasko. Sasko then clarifies a bit: "I think I can say everything. There's one thing: only weapons that are lethal by definition, so let's say you shoot someone with a bazooka in his face. You shoot his head off. That's typically lethal." Makes sense to us.
So although it sounds like there'll be times where you simply can't avoid combat, you'll still be able to take down you enemies in a nonlethal manner. Whether sparing the lives of cannon fodder will go on to impact the outcome of certain quests or storylines, we don't know. Cool to have the option, though.

No thanks, I spend all day not killing people.
I usually try to stealth at the begining but then lose my patience and start killin' enemies midway through.lol
What's the betting there's a pacifist playthrough trophy? Great they include the option anyway, nice to have such different ways of playing.
I'm about as stealthy as an elephant surrounded by mice. I'll try to be stealthy then end up killing everyone including people I am not supposed to kill.
I don’t think I it’s meant to be played that way. I think I’d you should someone in the leg it might not kill them like how with AC you don’t always kill someone with a sword, especially if you don’t do a finisher animation. I think it will be very hard. Unpractically so.

I wanna be able to visit a hospital for anyone I shoot in the leg, keep tabs on them to keep my guilt in check. Bring 'em some grapes, the whole thing.
I'll be playing this both stealthily and blastin' limbs off a good numerous times each.
With those blade arms in the game? I don't think so!

I want to pick the non lethal option but that hand blade in the trailer is cool, I think that depend on the enemy.
@playstation1995 Yea son, Dishonored is currently the king of stealth. Nothing like possessing a security guard and waltzing right through a wall of light.

Interestingly, I've started to dislike how much "guns" are around us. Kids play with guns, games have guns, you must kill people... I used to enjoy all that also, but... Yesterday I watched a video of Sniper Elite VR, and it has this kill cam that shows how the bullet goes through your target's head... not very confortable for me. I think I'm just getting older.

Since there's a pacifist option, is there also a genocide option where you kill absolutely everyone?
My favorite part of this is when he describes a bazooka to the head as "typically lethal." Typically. As in not always?

My favourite part in Metal Gear gameplay is the non lethal option. I may try it in this game too.
If you use a stun gun how do you know they don't have a heart condition and it kills them anyway?
I couldn't care less for non lethal. They are not real so does it matter if they are knocked out or dead? It's not like they will get up and go back to their family.
I only care about stealthy kills vs loud bang bang kills and I love stealth kills in games.
