If it was more like No mans sky updates then I wouldn't mind this approach with some games. Especially as sequels for games tend to take longer to make these days.
But the Ubisoft approach of trying to get you to buy booster packs for full priced games for me is a big no no.

Just need yakuza 6 to be made 60fps.

I think if it's a great game that people love having in their collection it's not too bad.
But I can definitely see annual sports titles like FIFA being a waste of plastic as once the new one comes out they just just get either thrown away or sent to charity shops.

Perhaps it might be useful if you use the ps5 as a media player.
Like say you watch a lot of netflix and it cuts it's power consumption from say 80w to 40w.

What annoys me is that this is all because of lazy parents who don't care about what their kids do online until it's too late. Most modern gadgets that have access to the internet have parental controls these days. And I would bet most young parents would know where to find them in the settings. Or failing that, look it up on Youtube on how to implement it.

I think it would be interesting to see a statistic from Sony that shows how people play games Digital Vs Disc on a daily average.
Because overtime, the amount of people that have played a specific game from a disc would increase due to 2nd hand sales.
I am just curious because people interpret the statistics as "only 10% played this game on disc nowadays". When that's not strictly true in the long term.

Makes buying the game a bit cheaper.

My biggest gripe with the series is the AI. Like when a staff member goes on break, instead of fulfilling their needs they would instead waste their break just sitting down etc or going across the map to a less close toilet. Even though I built one right next to the staff room.

So hopefully this one improves that.

I would probably enjoy playing it. Although, I don't know how the Unreal engine would work with a Bethesda game of this type.
Since as much as the Creation Engine is a old buggy mess. It is also what gives the Fallout/Elder Scrolls games their uniqueness. Compared to other RPG's.

I don't think the price is the main problem. It's the lack of games that are exclusive to this generation of consoles.
Many people wont upgrade when they can still play new games on the older hardware.

My biggest reason not upping to Extra is due to the limited time many games stay on the service. And when they go, you are left with little time to finish them, especially if they are a lengthy title.

I like RPG's but couldn't get into the first game as I just found it very clunky to play. Not just when playing as the character but also the menu's.

But I am glad that a smaller studio is making a new series. As the bigger AAA studios certainly ain't.

Think this will be my last console generation. Will probably start using GOG more since at least you can download your purchased content without DRM and do what you want with it.

Seems a better idea building from scratch with good developers, than spending the amount they did with Bungie.

They could probably expand on the Ezio story if they wanted too. I remember in AC2 there were 5-10 year jumps in the story at some points where it wasn't explained in the game what he did in that time. But looking on the Wikia pages he went off to Spain etc.

It's alright for indies, they get more exposure to their new games, as well as a nice bit of money to go with it.
AAA games on the other hand isn't sustainable.

Hopefully it's successful, since Sony hasn't been too kind to their British studios over the past couple of years.

If they didn't keep cancelling games that were years in development then maybe they would be a bit more profitable.

Think it makes sense to return to the office provided that rockstar wants no more leaks about the game to get out.

Theoretically, if done right. They could make the series last for many years. There are plenty of factions & creatures that they can use lore wise to keep things fresh.
Then if things do start to become stale. They can release a spin-off that starts in a different vault & a new location.

I reckon they will release Xbox games on PS5 for those that want to play them (at full price), while Microsoft will use their own device as a subscription device.
It could still tempt consumers to get a Xbox as they think that the game pass subscription will pay for itself. As opposed to buying each game outright.

I said before, if you can make a Vita 2 that has very similar hardware to the home console (PS4) that allows it to either run the game natively, or makes it very easy to port to. I don't see why it couldn't be possible.
Something similar to how the steam deck runs pc games.

Been playing it the past few months since the 60fps patch for PS5. And I have been enjoying it. If you like building camps etc then it can be restrictive at first as you need "blueprints" to build practically everything. But once you can enough caps you can buy them from other players shops so you don't need to purchase everything from the atom shop etc.

I think Sony has made some terrible decisions with their studios the past few years.
They made Naughty dog waste years on a game that's now not even coming out.
Allowed media molecule to spend so much time on a failed product instead of something new.
Sony Bend has been scrapping game ideas over and over.
And now they have bungie.

Guessing it will just be a upgrade to allow Ray tracing & 60fps at the same time.

Perhaps took inspiration from Assassin's creed Valhalla's free dlc that was rougelite with story bits chucked in.

Such a waste of money buying that studio.

Being playing it the past few months and have been enjoying it. I think if you like fallout 4 then you should like this.
Also I don't feel "forced" to buy anything from the atomic shop. Most of the stuff on there is just "show off" items for your camp.
If you do the daily/weekly objectives then you can even earn the currency.

Interesting, I was going to wait to play dead space when the price goes down. (Currently £38 in Cex) but if I can play it for £1, then I will do that instead and cancel afterwards.

Done probably about 80% of the main story so far and most of collectables. And for me so far, it looks great, but literally all of the characters in the game are just uninteresting. There is no humour with anyone it's just all serious talk.
And although I know the game is meant to be shorter but the beginning section just feels rather rushed.
So about a 6.5/10 for me

It's just like the Amazon sales. Who would pay full price for a Amazon device when they are literally on sale 6 times a year.

Why didn't they just have 1 new model. And bundle the disc drive with the consoles for people that want one?

I think they can satisfy both audiences going forward if they keep the main storyline at 20-30 hours. And leave the rest as explorable side content.
Valhalla's main story could of been cut in half tbh (and actually been more interesting)

Think home 2 would be pretty cool. With ps5 hardware they could do a lot more with the spaces than they did back then.

As others have said, the battery will probably drain quick. But it's definitely Impressive seeing modern console games being ported to such small devices.
Reminds me of how impressive I thought the PSP was back in the day, being able to run GTA etc.

Tried Campus twice and just can't get into it. But enjoyed hospital.

Stupid of Sony not to put dreams on Plus years ago.

If I were the EU. I would make sure companies don't implement a chip built into the batteries, to prevent consumers from buying batteries from 3rd party suppliers.
Bit like what printer companies do with their ink cartridges etc.

To me this is no different to Sony making PSP/Vita games, except it is not tied to specific hardware.

@antdickens I found out what it was, it's because I use the Vivaldi web browser on both desktop & mobile and it doesn't show up. But when I just tried it on Chrome it showed up.
