Re: Feature: 11 Games We Want to Play with PS4's Virtual Reality Headset

Weskerb

@Splat I'm definitely not sure about it. I'm honestly not sure that I'd ever wear a VR headset while someone else is around. It's creepy and if they wanted to speak to me, they'd probably tap me on the shoulder, which would be scary. Even on my own, I still need to be able up pick up my phone, which I'm not going to switch off. So many problems with VR, unfortunately.

Re: Talking Point: How Important Is Game Length?

Weskerb

@Azikira I agree. I keep playing a game until I get bored of it. For example, I played through Infamous Second Son twice, which is longer than my one playthrough of Watch_Dogs. If it's a good game I really don't mind playing it again. If it's boring and repetitive of course I'm not going to play it again...

Re: Talking Point: Do Review Scores Have a Future?

Weskerb

@Jaz007 I agree completely. How conceited and self-serious does a reviewer have to be to not want to put a score at the end? In case the reader doesn't want to bother to read your article. I have to be honest, and say many reviews are trash anyway. You get some nincompoop telling you why open-world games need to be revolutionized somehow, instead of giving the reader any information about the actual game. That number is the only useful thing in half these reviews, and now they want to get rid of it...

Re: Soapbox: Why We Need More Grounded Games

Weskerb

Fantasy settings allow for more interesting gameplay. One doesn't do much shooting, racing, fighting, platforming, flying in the real world. Unless you give gamers a fun action to do, it becomes less of a game and more of a 'choose your own adventure', or visual novel experience, which is not something most gamers are in the market for, IMO.

Re: Talking Point: Are Bigger Open Worlds Really Better?

Weskerb

I'm getting bored of open world games. Batman Arkham Asylum should have been a lesson to other devs. Sometimes less is more. Rocksteady didn't even follow that when they made Arkham City, and the new one is probably going to be even worse because they have to give you a reason to drive around in the Batmobile. Overall, more games like Arkham Asylum please.

Re: Talking Point: Is This Gaming's Most Disappointing Ever Year?

Weskerb

@get2sammyb Yeah maybe Watch Dogs, Destiny, Driveclub and AC Unity all had their individual disappointment articles. I don't know, but it seems like Pushsquare is trying to get into the whole group-think internet hispster market. I suppose it's normal as many other sites are like that too.
