We've found out a ton of juicy details about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt thanks to GameSpot's brilliant ongoing video series. According to the publication, the upcoming PlayStation 4 role-playing game runs smoothly on Sony's newest home console, and this is made all the more impressive by the fact that the title reportedly features almost no loading screens.
The release's giant open world is split into three main areas: the first is a large, open location that acts as your adventure's starting point, and when you're done there, you'll be thrown into the game's main map, which makes the prologue area seem relatively tiny in comparison. The final location is the Skellige archipelago, a set of islands off the coast of the map. On top of all this, there's the huge city of Novigrad, which is understandably the title's busiest location.
To give some idea of how big the open world is, GameSpot mentions that on horseback, it took around 20 minutes to ride straight from the centre of the map to the northern Witcher fortress. That sounds pretty big to us.
Are you excited for the Witcher 3? What's the first thing that you'll be doing in the RPG's open world? Ride as fast as you can into the comments section below.

Release date cant arrive soon enough!
Can't wait! I would love to see some actual PS4 gameplay.
I'm playing the hell out of this game when i can get it.
I'm going to wait and see on this one. I think they've been prioritizing the Xbox version because of their relationship with Microsoft, but we'll see how it turns out. If it's a similar situation like with AC:Unity I won't be buying it at launch.
I only hope I can finish Bloodborne by the time this releases. Still annoyed that I missed the special edition.
Dat hype doe!
I won't be preordering this or anything but, given no worrying news on the run up/release day itself, I'll almost certainly give in and pick it up on or very soon after release
I think I'll be heading straight to the city as soon as possible and just wonder round drunk and abusive.
Just hoping with this "massive" map there will be plenty to do!! I hate games with "big" open worlds that have F-A to really do!!, I'm still open to this game so will keep reading more and see how things go?
I'm headed to my local game store this weekend to pre-order this and Elder Scrolls Online. I cannot wait for this game.
This will be my first pre-order this gen... I can't wait!
Whys everyone pre ordering? Buy it on the day. Regardless of how "respected" or "loved" the developer is pre ordering just encourages unfinished games. I'm not saying this game wont be great but have some self control people.
@themcnoisy in no doubt it will in most large cities be sold out on day one, just like bloodborne
Good Bye Real Life
Definitely buying this(enjoyed witcher 2 on 360 and everything about the witcher is great)...just got a very slight feeling that's saying "possible performance issues"...not going to put me off buying the game at all though
@WARDIE They've showed it off a while back already Here you go
I would love to get my hands on this and borderlands, just need to find someone to rob.
Define "well" please.
I don't usually preorder these days, but grabbed this and Batman (steelbook edition) from tescos with the 2 for £70 offer... Cannot wait to play Witcher III, everything i've read and seen looks so good.
@themcnoisy I generally pre-order games because most of the time I don't have $60+ lying around to drop on a game so I either pay for it while I do have the extra money or take the opportunity to be able to make multiple smaller payments. So in a nutshell my motivation for pre-ordering is financial, not a lack of restraint.
@sabbat7001 or you can save in an Isa and get the interest and then buy on the day. My motivations for writing the above post is that games have extra editions, pre order bonus, definitive versions etc, why cant we all just get the one game anymore? I'm feeling really old right now
@themcnoisy
CD projekt will not release an UNfinished game. They polish their games. I played both witcher and witcher 2 and both were flawless and magnificent. I expect nothing less of the witcher 3. I pre ordered mine months ago for 47.99 . 15 cheaper why wouldnt I want to save money on a game I already know will be amazing
@Hawkmoon Well and that in a nut shell is why this pre ordering non sense is insanity and clearly you didn't read my post properly. So CD projekt wont launch an unfinished game? Do you personally know everyone in the boardroom? You spent £47.99 months ago? To save money. That makes no sense at all. You spent £47.99 on nothing more than a wet fart. When its out you will be able to pick it up for under £45 anyway. Well done for supporting the industry - but I don't know another industry were we are expected to pay months in advance for an unfinished product. Its mad.
