Re: Assassin's Creed Unity Ain't Sounding Especially Slick on PS4

Weskerb

@MoleZandor LOL. It's funny isn't it? How about trying to improve the combat, making the side missions more meaningful, creating new main mission designs, or setting up more elaborate assassination missions like they used to try and do? Nah! More NPCs, more pixels + co-op. That'll do the trick!

Re: DriveClub Developer to Roll Out New Game Update to Improve Online Issues

Weskerb

How could they let this happen? This is embarrassing for everyone. I remember a couple of devs from Evolution being interviewed at E3 2013 being asked if the game would be ready for launch. They just smiled and said their projects always come together in the last stretch of development. They released the game almost a year later, and I can't buy it because it's broken. Bad developers? Bad working culture? Bad corporate culture? Sony seems to be riddled with incompetent people. Just look at the EU PlayStation blog for further proof. What's worse is that all these incompetent Sony employees seem to be based in England!

Re: Feature: No Games November - PS4's Lineup Is Starting to Look Silly

Weskerb

Far Cry 4. But I hope Assassins will be great. I'm skeptical though because the gameplay is getting boring and I don't think co-op is going to fix that. Conceptually though, I still am very interested in Ass Cree. Also the Crew, but probably going to get DriveClub, so The Crew and Projects cars can wait. Not really interested in the rest, unless they really did change COD, and in a good way.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 36

Weskerb

I'm playing Fez on the Vita. Man they get the presentation right in that game. I'm not usually interested in games that look like they could be run on a 16 bit console, like we had a shortage of good 16 bit games... But when the little dude is collecting what he needs to collect, or opening up a chest or whatever, boy does the game pop.

Re: Review: Road Not Taken (PlayStation 4)

Weskerb

@Shellybird27 I'll help you understand if you like. Some boys and girls don't have much disposable income. But they have Plus and internet connections. They also got Saints Row, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Burnout, Infamous and many other AAA games just for being a member of Plus. Now they're getting indie games, sports titles and flops like Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3. You must be able to deduce something from that.

Re: Review: Watch Dogs (PlayStation 4)

Weskerb

@kingandaval I know. I've had a great time with that. Except when one guy disconnected when I was at like 99%. That peeved me a fair bit though that kind of stuff happens in all online games.

Re: Review: Watch Dogs (PlayStation 4)

Weskerb

@adf86 It has the same problem as GTA games. On the one hand you're tasked with doing something very important and emotionally compelling, while on the other, you're being handed a myriad of more trivial distractions that you're being encouraged to engage with, side missions etc. The world doesn't really provide the cohesive gaming experience you might want, but I think the main missions by themselves offer a strong story-line.

Re: Review: Watch Dogs (PlayStation 4)

Weskerb

@adf86 The story isn't weak. The biggest problem with Watch Dogs is over familiarity. But the more you play the better it gets, because of the story and because of the sheer amount, quality and variety in the content.

Re: Feature: Five Ways PS4 Can Keep the Lead in the Next-Gen Console Clash

Weskerb

@Tsuzura Yes you can. Sony has to pay attention to the backlash from Plus. It seems like people were expecting more. They also need to speed up with the firmware updates. The console still doesn't really resemble what they pitched. They also need Naughty Dog on that stage again with whatever they're working on (not TLOU remaster).

Re: Talking Point: Why Sony's Right to Retain the Franchises It Funds

Weskerb

Though I think Sony is right, for this particular game I would have preferred a 3rd party publisher to step in and let it be multi-platform as Fuse was. But I guess EA wasn't interested after Fuse turned out the way it did.

Insomniac obviously didn't approve of the management of Ratchet and Resistance, but they also have to look at themselves. It's not like either of those franchises were pulling up trees on PS3 and Sony has to make the most of their investments.

Re: March NPD: PS4 Overcomes Titanfall to Top Hardware Charts Again

Weskerb

This is definitely big news. I thought the hype and marketing for Titanfall was excellent, but in the end it wasn't enough to topple the PS4. FPS is the most popular genre of game, EA were publishing, it was made by the creators of COD and they were giving it away for free with the Xbone. If that didn't put the Xbone ahead of PS4 in the sales chart then nothing can. Unless Microsoft can get Minecraft 2 or GTA 6 as exclusives lol that's really all there could be bigger than Titanfall.
