Assassins Creed Unity Arno

In yet another bid to try and improve Assassin's Creed Unity after the game's somewhat shoddy launch, Ubisoft has released a patch today that removes the need to fiddle about with the title's companion app and Initiates website.

Throughout the game's virtual Paris, you'll find chests that can only be opened through use of the abovementioned software and site, and in all honesty, it was just an unnecessarily intrusive way to get players to download the app and spend time with the lacklustre Initiates program. Not only that, but many users struggled to even get either service to properly sync up with the game.

Fortunately, you're no longer forced to use them, as the chests will be unlocked once you've installed the latest update. The patch also fixes a handful of remaining issues, which include matchmaking errors, crashes, and bugged equipment unlocks.

Are you still hopping around the rooftops of Paris? Cast away your companion app and join the revolution in the comments section below.
