Is Itzaland a new world, or is it a new region somewhere in Miraland? I really hope it's the latter. I'm not really interested in any of the disconnected dimensions etc they add. I just want to see and explore a new area at least tangentially connected to Miraland
I think everything in Yotei is better except for the story, which might end up being the most important factor to many people.
Jin is more likeable and his story is far more rich in a thematic sense. I don't mind Atsu, but she doesn't compare to such a great character. Both are great games, however.
People in this comments section seem completely disconnected from the reality of what most consumers want. If they don't create dlc, there will likely be major pushback from its fan base, like what happened to Spider-Man
@Exerion76 Tekken 8 released with 32 characters (minus 1 if you don't count Panda) at launch. That is definitely enough to be considered a complete game, especially when taking into account the characters' enormous move sets. A character like this would simply not have existed in the base game without dlc
It's absolutely insane that we still get comments of people saying that a game will automatically succeed if it's good. You can't have this opinion if you're not either intentionally sticking your fingers in your ears, or just being plain stupid.
There have been countless examples of good games, or other products, failing due to release timing.
I'm absolutely overjoyed that a local studio did well with a creative new setting and IP. Especially one that I'm enjoying so far. They could've easily just never made any non Sniper Elite game forever if they really wanted to. This gives me some hope, even if much of this is Game Pass.
FF16 is my GOTY for 2023. It's only shallow if you choose not to engage with its mechanics. That's kind of the only major issue I had with the game. It was easy enough that most people seemingly didn't need to play it 'properly' and thus never mastered combat
I normally don't like gacha games, but have played this for 50 hours and think it's excellent...without spending a single pence. At this point I want to buy something in the shop just because this game deserves some money for how good it's been.
@Kraven as I said, Naughty Dog has made some of my favourite games, but that doesn't mean I'll excuse what, in my opinion, was an incredibly poor trailer which has received a polarising response online. It seems that most, but not all, people providing positive reactions are saying it's because this is a studio they like. This is a highly imprudent viewpoint, in my opinion.
@Sondheimist I'll wait for the gameplay reveal before fully judging it, yeah. My point is basically just that when using a 'veil of ignorance' approach, I don't think this cuts the mustard, unfortunately.
@EchoRange that's my issue. They've made some of my favourite games ever, but I want to judge this based on its own merit, not what they did in the past, because I'm not a zealot. I'm not giving them a free pass because they're ND.
I honestly don't understand how anyone could be excited by this trailer, apart from the Naughty Dog label. I think people should try and be more objective and think about whether they would've liked the same reveal if it were a different studio.
This is actually insane. It looks good, sounds good, plays well (far more technical than I expected) and is oozing with content. I think they also got some goodwill from fans by delivering more characters than they initially promised.
Now, if only I actually got my pre-order code that was never sent...
@Yagami TIL 2-4 (within 1 calendar year thus far) = 0. I'd like to go study wherever you learnt maths, maybe I'll learn something.
Expecting more exclusives than that per year, timed or not, is absolutely ludicrous. Development times and budgets for current generation games are far too large for that. How many of these games do you expect per year?
@Yagami Is not wanting to wait a year+ for games like Astro Bot, Final Fantasy, Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin not a reason? Maybe you don't like these games, but plenty of us do.
I tried Valorant once a few years ago on pc. It was some of the least fun I've ever had with a multiplayer game. And the other players were somehow more toxic than Overwatch.
I likely would have gotten it, but multiplatform games releasing straight onto Game Pass devalue themselves too much in my eyes. It makes me feel like I'd waste my money by paying full price, but I don't want to really play it on Game Pass, because I prefer playing on Playstation when I have the option to. I'll get it when it's cheaper, at some point
Great to see you like it. I've been really enjoying the series, so I would've bought it anyway, as long as it wasn't atrociously bad. Seeing that it's good (it currently has a metascore above 70) is a bonus

Re: Poll: What Are Your First Impressions of Ghost of Yotei on PS5?
It's excellent. I'm normally not a sub superiority guy, but the Japanese actress is galaxies better than the English dub person.

I thought this looks neat. If it can capture the feeling of just existing in The Shire, it should be a very comfy game.
