@kailun actually, I'm a legal migrant living in the UK. So I'm quite the opposite, as I'm paying into the system that provides benefits to others. Benefits that I can't access. Additionally, I've both visited China, done work for a Chinese institution and worked extensively with Chinese citizens. I'm well aware of the restrictions faced both there and in the UK. Kindly direct your childish insults elsewhere, as I won't stoop to your (seemingly uneducated) level

I would prefer it if they kept these projects limited to collaborations with other studios, like with Marvel Tokon. I don't want any of Sony's top tier first party studios wasted on cancelled projects for the better part of a decade again

FF16 is my favourite game of 2023. Worth it for anyone who isn't burdened with a short attention span

@For-Kier potentially yes, but I would like to see the data behind this, since we've seen how a poor initial reception can hamstring a newly announced game. I know it's not possible to quantify, but I'm curious about the tradeoff in economic value with this. The potential hype around a strong announcement might provide substantial financial upside that is lost through leaks, significantly more than a small console games market. Though it could also go the other way, of course, where something like this could actually build some additional hype in the run up to the launch

Knowing this, is it even worth most console-oriented games releasing there? I'm surprised that some publishers haven't just pulled their games from there, since their market for console games seemingly isn't that big to begin with

I almost never play new game plus. EXCEPT for Insomniac games. I think their experience with Ratchet and Clank's weapons made them excel at providing good second runs

Great news. Now just waiting for the release date. Also, the demo is seemingly 90 minutes, which is pretty hefty for a game like this. They must be very confident in it

I had faith. If it's anywhere near as good as Blood and Wine or Hearts of Stone, it'll blow any recent DLC out of the water

@DeadRush Yeah, I specifically mean older millennials and gen x, where many I think prefer 3d platformers to stay traditional, like Jak & Daxter. Middle and younger Millennials and old gen z (like myself) are of course the main fan demographic for the games (I would imagine, at least)

This article and comment section feel like absolute bizarro world. I guess that's because this site is mostly filled with older millennials. Generally amongst Jak & Daxter fans, Jak 2 is the most revered, as it should be. It's an excellent step up from Jak & Daxter in almost every way. It's a 9.5/10 for its time and still holds up excellently.

Hopefully he'll be making another 3D fighter. It might even release before the new Virtua Fighter at the rate they're going

Great news. I like Mortal Kombat, but Injustice is what really drew me to their games in the first place. Easily my favourite 2D fighting game series, followed by Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ

Bond songs have been utterly horrendous since 2012, so this had a low bar to clear. At least it's not more pop slop

@meteors77 No need to be condescending. Why would I rob myself of a core pillar of experiencing a game? It's on the developers to make sure it's an enjoyable experience, not me to pick and choose which parts I'll replace myself

I tried Need For Speed Unbound a few years ago because of the visuals looking interesting. I couldn't stomach the music though and stopped after an hour. Utterly wretched stuff

I think everything in Yotei is better except for the story, which might end up being the most important factor to many people.

Jin is more likeable and his story is far more rich in a thematic sense. I don't mind Atsu, but she doesn't compare to such a great character. Both are great games, however.

People in this comments section seem completely disconnected from the reality of what most consumers want. If they don't create dlc, there will likely be major pushback from its fan base, like what happened to Spider-Man

@Exerion76 Tekken 8 released with 32 characters (minus 1 if you don't count Panda) at launch. That is definitely enough to be considered a complete game, especially when taking into account the characters' enormous move sets. A character like this would simply not have existed in the base game without dlc

It's excellent. I'm normally not a sub superiority guy, but the Japanese actress is galaxies better than the English dub person.

I think the visuals in the first area are quite charming. Looking forward to the full release. Just a pity it's coming in a stacked month

It's absolutely insane that we still get comments of people saying that a game will automatically succeed if it's good. You can't have this opinion if you're not either intentionally sticking your fingers in your ears, or just being plain stupid.

There have been countless examples of good games, or other products, failing due to release timing.

I'm absolutely overjoyed that a local studio did well with a creative new setting and IP. Especially one that I'm enjoying so far. They could've easily just never made any non Sniper Elite game forever if they really wanted to. This gives me some hope, even if much of this is Game Pass.

FF16 is my GOTY for 2023. It's only shallow if you choose not to engage with its mechanics. That's kind of the only major issue I had with the game. It was easy enough that most people seemingly didn't need to play it 'properly' and thus never mastered combat

I'm absolutely shocked you didn't give it to Naughty Dog just for existing.

I normally don't like gacha games, but have played this for 50 hours and think it's excellent...without spending a single pence. At this point I want to buy something in the shop just because this game deserves some money for how good it's been.

Very excited for this. I hope it releases before 2030.
