It's a pity about the release timing. I like the look of the game so much that I 100% would have bought this if it released at any other time this year.

@PenguinLtd I enjoyed what I played immensely (I think about half way through) when it released. But the bugs were just too much to handle, including losing about 10 hrs on my save, so I traded it in. If the game is fixed (I think that the frame rates have mostly been remedied), then it should be fantastic.

I feel like this comment section won't be satisfied until GTA 6, Elder Scrolls VI, Half Life 3 and Jak 4 release in the same month.

How on earth can you downplay this release schedule and act like this isn't incredibly out of the ordinary for January/February? Just new Yakuza, Tekken and Final Fantasy games alone would've made this a way bigger start than most years.

@Mauzuri You think that Sony's lineup has been lacklustre the last few years? That's funny, because I feel the opposite way. Just in 2021 and 2022 we had Returnal, Ratchet & Clank, Gran Turismo, Horizon, God of War. I play on all 3 console platforms and honestly, I haven't enjoyed any game from Xbox or Nintendo in that same time frame as much as any one of those games I just mentioned. Especially not Pokémon, as one of the examples you mentioned.

@Brydontk Well, apart from a 2d fighting game, there's really not anything else that one can use to adapt JJK into video game form. There are too many 3d fighters for properties that shouldn't have them, of course, but that's because they sell the best. But just because other games that shouldn't be 3d (or 2d) fighters are, doesn't mean that it's this game's fault for being what it is.

My point is basically just that it's unfair to lump this game in with other games from vastly inferior development teams. I don't think any of the other teams in the genre compare to CC2 or Byking.

We've almost certainly not seen the combat system before 'dozens of times'. That's like saying every fps game is the same. Byking games tend to be quite unique. The My Hero One's Justice games don't quite feel like anything else.

This is a nice bonus, but I'm still waiting for them to integrate Crunchyroll into the subscription

I think moving the release date up will end up doing wonders for this game. Myself and I think plenty of others see this as a nice warmup before Spider-Man (or Lords of the Fallen)

I'm interested to see where AC Mirage will end up next week. I suppose beating FC 24 will be out of the question, so a 2nd place result should be good enough.

It seems to have just moved from one bad release date to another. I wonder why December or maybe the start of January wasn't possible.

So, I think we now have all of the new characters from Tekken 5 returning, apart from Devil Jin

@NinjaNicky Well, I don't think that it'll fail, but the problem is that there are just too many games in October that I do actually want. I'm definitely getting Spider-Man and Mario, but I do want this, Lords of the Fallen and AC: Mirage as well. It's just impossible to buy or play all of those games in such a short time frame, though.

I really really can't fathom why they'd choose a release date like that. I think it should still be fine, due to the quality of the original, but why release it in the most packed month in years? Why not wait a month or two?

Red Dead 1 is one of my favourite games ever...but there's just no way I'm paying that much. Out of principle, if nothing else.

Man, I wish they would bring Tekken 5 to modern consoles. Both Dark Resurrection and the OG, so that we can get the T1-3 arcade games as well.

Ultimate Ninja Storm, One's Justice and Hinokami Chronicles are all great. Just because One Punch Man and Jump Force are bad, doesn't mean that this will be.

It's far less generic than the vast majority of multiplayer shooters. Reductionism at its finest.

I'd give it a nine. Incredible highs with some annoying issues. One of them being the canonical size of Valisthea. The supposed size of the region in the story is treated quite inconsistently between separate main missions, side missions, as well as gameplay. It breaks the immersion for me.

It sounds like the game has about the same quality of storytelling as AEW itself...

@Titntin Yeah, agreed. I also just feel like RDR1 just has so much soul that's lacking in the sequel. Its atmosphere in particular was exquisite.

I would take any version of RDR1, even just a port. I massively prefer it to the sequel, even if the sequel is obviously also great

I'm still somewhat interested in this, but it just went from having a pretty decent release date to an absolute death sentence.

I've been a fan of Horizon ever since that initial trailer and I'd say that this is a good expansion.

Yet, I was still left somewhat disappointed. This is mostly due to my personal preferences, but in my opinion, I prefer the environments in Horizon in a more natural setting, particularly the cold and forested regions of the games.

The entire map being centred around LA just doesn't do it for me. It did provide some nice verticality, however.
