I'm still rocking a 60hz 4k tv (Samsung KS7000). I need to upgrade my TV first before even thinking about getting a PS5 Pro. However, if the PS VR2 will also benefit significantly from a PS5 Pro, I might get one after all.
That's why I practically buy all my games and movies on physical disc. Too many examples of paid digital content being erased or replaced with a censored version "suitable for modern audiences". I only buy digital games for PS VR2, because changing discs while wearing a VR-headset is cumbersome or when the price is cheap enough that I wouldn't care if I lost the digital item. In the latter, those most consist of games that I wasn't intended to play anyway (at least not for the recommended price).
Wait, you mean to tell me we can get a official new Rock Band controller?
This might make me want to buy Rock Band 4!
Edit:
Rock Band 4 + Rivals Expansion bundle is currently just €9,99 on PSN!
I bought it and now I only need to get my hands on this guitar, lol!
@Deityjester I'm not talking about game lenght or production value, but about brand recognition. Marvel's Blade is an more recognizable IP than the other titles you mentioned. Starfield is as far as I know just one single game and I honestly dont even know what Redfail is. The character Blade has been around for decades anf appeared in dozens of comics, cartoon series, multiple live action movies and games. That brand recognition is what is going to drive sales right of the bat.
I dont think Marvel will limited a game of this caliber to the least bought current gen console. There are literally 2 PS5s sold for every XBOX that is being sold, meaning Marvel would limit themselves to only 33% of the potential buyers when going exclusive with XBOX.
I'm still debating getting the physical Deluxe Edition, or the Digital Ultimate Edition which includes the season pass. I love physical games, but the Digtal Ultimate edition is the better deal. The game is only 4 Gb in size. So I'm in doubt...
@ROTTIEMAN16 I don't know man. But this is what the offical FAQ states in regards to ray tracing:
Q; Can I turn off ray tracing to get better performance? A: No. Teardown does not use a conventional renderer since there are no polygons. Ray tracing is part of the core voxel renderer and cannot be disabled.
@Pranwell No worries! On PS5 in Performance Mode, the game manages to average around 120 FPS at 1080p. Quality mode takes the resolution a step even further, kicking it up to 1620p and averaging 60 FPS. The game looks incredibly gorgeous, as it utilizes the power of the gameplay’s physics system’ with the added benefit of the lighting system and ray tracing.
I need to know how they work with PS VR2. Regular Bluetooth headsets (except Sony's own Pulse 3D) will have too much audio delay when using in VR. However, I believe that is no longer the issue with these Pulse Explore Earbuds. I would like to have confirmation how they work with PS VR2 before making a final decision. Would be nice to be able to use good sounding small earbuds instead of the 3D Pulse, which can be a bit cumbersome to use in combination with PS VR2 because you need to place those over the PS VR2 headset.
People complain about paid seasonal fatailities. WB respone: We're going to release a whole bundle of Paid Seasonal Fatalities next week, you get 2 for free!
This is not a solution and only panders to the people who were stupid enough to buy this overpriced content to begin with.
That's the same logic as giving vegetarians more steaks, after you accidentally served them steak, instead of lettuce.
I bet that stat also includes digital only game. I would like to see the percantages for games that have both a physical and digital release only. I'm convinced that number will me much greater than 4%
@MrMagic
Yes, but the difference is that in there all characters are black. That's more in the vein of the movie Ghost Dog with Forrest Whitaker.
As I understand in AC: Red, you're playing the only black guy, a ex-slave to be precise, in a in feudal Japan in which I assume everyone else is asian. That's probably not what most players had in mind, who have been waiting for a AC game in a Feudal Japan setting for years now.
I'm not against it, just don't be surprised if this game will catch some heat because of that choice.
It's just as weird as playing Assassins Creed Freedom Cry as a white slave in the lead, which existed in that period as well.
@STOBO
Good point, but that movie was released in pre-woke era. Before people were getting fed up with gender/race swapping.
If The Last Samurai was released today, I'll think it will be received different than how the people in 2003 reacted to it.
But even then there was controversy about The Last Samurai attracting negative press for perceived racial insensitivity for casting Tom Cruise as a samurai.
If this is true, it's funny that out of the entire samurai history, they managed to find the single black african samurai to play the lead.
Even though it's based on real history, I'm curious to see how asia will react to this decision, for a African to represent their samurai culture.
Has anyone any information about the specs of these new Blu-Ray disc drives? Are they identical to the ones in the current PS5s? If not, does anyone know if they support 3D Blu-Ray out of the box, which could lead to 3D Blu-Ray support returning to PS VR2?

Switchback & Firewall Ultra were inexcusable since those were console exclusives. The others could be the result of lazy ports.
Maybe when the Quest 3 is released we might see a slight bump in visual quality for the multiplatform games.
Other than games we expected to be good to turn out terrible, there are also some games that we expected to be bad but turn out to be good. Unfortunately they do not get as much attention as they deserve.
Zombieland Headshot Fever Reloaded 2 is one of those titles which had a massive visual overhaul for PS VR2. Moss and Vacation Simulator are some others that pleasantly surprised me.
It's an indy game made by one person. I assume it was too much work to convert the entire game to PS VR2 and they settled to make 6 mission for PS VR2 specifically and include the flat screen version of the game.
!!!CAUTION!!! Just to be clear, only the 6 new missions are playable on PS VR2! All other missions and game modes can only be played in "flat screen mode". Neither the game's description, trailers or the PlayStation Blog article are clear in communicating that to the costumer.
@DennisReynolds I agree! If I'm not mistaken, Ghostface is just a normal dude who dresses up like that. Although I haven't seen SCREAM movies after part 2 or 3, so maybe that changed.
All the other characters are supernatural beings, which fit more into the game if you ask me.
Although, Jigsaw is also just a dude. The famous puppet we see is just his avatar he uses to scare people and not an actual being.
Those who already own the game for the PS4 for the original PlayStation VR will be presented with an $9.99 upgrade option. Otherwise Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs will be available for purchase for $19.99.
Also unique to Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs PS VR2 is the online level builder which expands the amount of content exponentially, depending on the community. Sharing user generated content online was a feature not available as part of the original PS VR1 version.
Absolutley! The first one was such a underrated game! I mean it got good reviews (88 on Metacritic), but nobody was talking about it. A must play game if you like puzzle games like Portal, only with a much more mature story based on philosophy and the meaning of life.
I love fighting games but suck at competing online. Therefore, Mortal Kombat 1 is a godsend for me with tho focus on singleplayer content an a story mode with over 4 hours of amazing cutscenes (on top of each individual tower ending sequence)!
As a singleplayer gamer, this is easily a 9/10 and must buy fighting game for me!!!

@redd214
And a third console. The PlayStation Portal alone won't solve that problem
Edit, Unless you meant that one player uses the Series S. Then it would work. But even then it's maybe better to just buy another proper sized monitor, if you're already in the same room anyway.
