Here he is, then – Jean-Claude Van Damme as Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 1. Despite the Belgian actor famously playing Guile in the live action Street Fighter movie, Cage has always been inspired by the Hollywood star, and he’ll finally feature as the character in the reboot’s Premium Edition, which includes access to the first Kombat Pack.

As is always the case with NetherRealm Studios, it’s not cut any corners here. You can hear the character has unique voice lines for every entrance, and there’s even a new Fatality that we haven’t seen before. @NinjaNicky Concur. Maybe they found some pic of him before he hit puberty to model it on, so it really does look like him in his early teens, but we all know him as a 30 year old. He was born in 1960 and his biggest movies I'd argue are from '88 to '95 when he was 28 - 35 years old.

Big fan of jcvd. Would have been nice to see the brilliant split kick move from jcvd. It should be in the game shouldn’t it really.

I'm not it doesn't even slightly look like him, why didn't they put the same amount of detail they put for Arnold and Stallone? Those looked exactly like them down to the pimples and scars

@Juanalf I think because this is just a skin for Johnny Cage, whereas Arnold and Stallone were full on DLC characters.

I remember that the original Mortal Kombat was based around ol' VanDam, but his manager at the time convinced him that staring in a videogame was childish, how things have changed.

It doesn't really look like him but oh well. I appreciate the classic Johnny Cage look he is sporting. It looks so out of place with the rest of the cast!
