Surprise! Hotline Miami Collection has just dropped onto the PS Store, making both titles natively available on PS5. It launches a week before Halloween, letting you don the mask of a mass murderer in a sort-of reverse horror experience.

If you're unaware, Hotline Miami and its sequel, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, are intensely violent, fast-paced, top-down action games. The original is sensational, with tightly designed stages, collectable masks that give you a unique perk, and a vast array of ranged and melee weapons enabling your frenetic murder spree. It's intoxicating and addictive thanks to how tough and speedy it gets. The sequel retains a lot of the first game's qualities, but is less cohesive — still enjoyably breakneck, but it loses some of the purity of the arcade-like original.

As a duo, it's tough to beat, and now you can enjoy them natively on PS5. It's worth noting: if you already own the games, you'll be entitled to a free upgrade to the PS5 versions, which is always nice. We're not aware of any upgrades or changes to the games — it seems to be a straightforward port — but it's as good an excuse as any to revisit these cracking titles.
