It's fantasy land not Europe. You can have any accent you please. That being said the dubbing for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is atrocious and if that's similar to what FF 16 will sound like I'm even more pleased that we get Japanese language options. Always nice to be able to turn off the janitors.

Where is everyone getting this notion that VRR means developers slack off? You guys know it works at higher than 60 fps right?

@rpg2000 it's really being blown out of proportion. Nintendo does this all the time with Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, Koei Tecmo, Platinum, etc.

Game looks fun and interesting. I'm hoping the final product runs better and has a 60fps mode. The performance looked a bit rough and it's not even a visually impressive game. Hopefully you can tone down the in battle quipping too...

Its too bad these are the dumbed down Sigma versions. Looks like backwards compatible Xbox versions are still the way to go.

@thefourfoldroot I guess that's where we differ. I love playing older 3D games with a boost in performance. It's like buying a newer video card for you PC and seeing how your older favorites run. To each their own of course.

@thefourfoldroot They do! Microsoft's is just more comprehensive and fully featured so it has me more excited than PS5 backwards compatibility at the moment.

I mean it's got 2 great exclusives at launch but its not an overwhelming avalanche of great software that Sony seems to be implying. Sackboy will probably be good but not a game changer and Astro is a vehicle to display the controller, albeit a cute one. All that said in still excited but realistic.

Meanwhile XSX has nothing mindblowing but solid backwards compatibility.

Definitely not important but it looks like Sony is using the same cheap looking packaging as always. Of course the system is what's important.

Shouldn't it be locked 60fps on PS5 and not variable? This isn't a next gen game.

Until the mid-gen update can do raytracing and 60fps please give me the option to turn off raytracing for better framerates.

This could be fun. l love the Tales games. Just need to decide XSX or PS5. I think Bandai Namco put more effort performance wise in PS versions of their games rather than Xbox such as Code Vein. Overall looking forward to it.

@thefourfoldroot You make valid points and to be clear I intend on buying it. It's just the convoluted messaging, lack of easy upgrade, and not true price of 20 dollars (you have to buy Miles first) is all annoying compared to the ease of other offerings. Control is in the same boat but with even more holes in it.

@WizzNL They haven't clarified the updates for those games besides higher resolution and framerates, no. But Spiderman isn't getting anything more than that. New facial models? Yay? Those were probably already in the Miles part of the game. And running the ps4 version on your ps5 only gives you more stability. No other improvements.

@thefourfoldroot I know. But it's also essentially a framerate and resolution bump which Xbox has been doing for free for years, along with a few other companies. And its not just 20 dollars because you can't buy it separately. Again, whatever. But they need to be honest with this convoluted mess.

@thefourfoldroot I was responding to the person's statement saying it was only launch window games getting the upgrade. Nothing more. Companies can do what they want. They just need to not pretend like it's more than it is with this remaster. It's not a full on remake like Demon's Souls.

@WizzNL Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Witcher 3... that's 3 examples of games outside the launch window getting free upgrades. I'm sure there's more I missed.

Pretty sure all they did was pop the older code into the upgraded engine which already had the newer models, higher resolution, etc. I feel like they are projecting that it took more effort than it actually did. And when lots of other companies are offering essentially the same thing for free it looks even worse.

@TheNewButler you make good points. But at least knowing when to get in line will help me get an Xbox. My life is too hectic to be randomly checking shops all the time.

@Kefka2589 I see what you're saying but that hasn't been an issue with Microsoft. What did they do to maintain control that Sony didn't? I can't fully blame Sony, you're correct. But I feel because Sony was so wishy-washy with information it caused this avalanche. And I assume you got one and that's why you don't care? Lucky if so.

@HMazzy111 Yeah. After promising advance notice would be given and then saying preorders would start the following day but they didn't. It wasn't well organized. I'll live but the handling of it was disappointing.

Who gives a crap if your average non-bot can't buy one with ease? This preorder is a train wreck sadly.

Your argument about why he is in UA 3 just doesn't hold water. Even if Sony's view on the Switch is true Spiderman games appeared on direct competitors systems until their most recent PS4 game. 3DS/DS was direct competition for Vita and PSP yet Spiderman games appeared on it. Xbox, Gamecube, etc. I think this is just a situation where Sony threw lots of money at the developer.

@CavemanNo12 Sony does not own Spiderman.... why do people think this? Because of movies and one exclusive game? See Ultimate Alliance 3 on Switch and all the Spiderman based games on other consoles.

@sabaki08 This is just not true. Spiderman is in Ultimate Alliance 3 for Switch and in mobile games. Not sure why people think Sony owns Spiderman. They do not.

It needs to be 4k 60fps minimum or what's the point? This generation will be quite the disappointment if 30fps is still common in games.

@WebHead basically what I was going to say. I'm excited they are finally upping the graphics. It looks beautiful. Detailed but still very anime. I'm excited.

If people program correctly for the X it should consistently be a superior visual experience to the Pro so no surprise that Rockstar pulled it off. PS3 was worse for multiplatform in general. I'm glad they cleaned up their architecture for this generation. Good to know all versions look and play great overall!

2 excellent games, especially Rondo of Blood. Hopefully there is a filter free graphics option because I can't stand smoothing.

@RustyBullet haha, I have been on here a while and I do laugh at the intensity of the PS4 centric view. It makes sense as its a PS4 site but its even more intense than Nintendo Life about Nintendo. The title of this article just pushed it up a notch for me, lol.

I just like how the title says Tomb Raider PS4 reviews instead of just Tomb Raider reviews. As if it doesn't apply to the other versions of the game or they don't exist. Lol.

I'm happy to see that flyer has a Switch version mentioned! That's where I prefer to buy my indies.

Considering Tomb Raider is multiplatform its hard to compare. Spidey may outsell it on PS4 but Xbox and PC will fill the gap. I'm personally waiting on Spidey but going day 1 on my X for Tomb Raider simply because Tomb Raider looks more interesting to me. Both will be purchased over time though.

Remember when Sony tried to have their own Smash Bros. and no one cared? Good times. Its good they stick to non Nintendo experiences. Sony is good with their own style.
