It still feels weird to be writing articles about Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition -- like, holy crap, it actually exists, and here's the latest trailer to prove it.
The video's got a decent amount of gameplay in it, and it goes over some of the stuff that you can expect from this enhanced remaster. The game doesn't have a confirmed release date yet, but Bandai Namco assures that it's launching this Winter.

Glad we're getting the enhanced version of Tales of Vesperia. I played the original version on Xbox 360 and liked it, but it was missing some content like playable Flynn Scifo. So I hope to get this game for the PS4 soon.
Interesting you can replay a game that was only on Xbox 360 in the West. I mean if this site's affiliation is to be believed, that makes this your first go?
I keep hearing this is the best Tales of game, alongside Symphonia. Honestly with the JRPG madness I'm currently in and this likely releasing a little too close to Pokemon (Even if I end up despising that game, which is likely), I'll be very JRPG'd out.
@Knuckles-Fajita Believe it or not, we actually had lives before Push Square.
@ShogunRok Speak for yourself!
Did I see a Klonoa costume in the video was that in the original game? Would love a new Klonoa game or at least Klonoa 2 re-released as a PS2 classic. Did Sony give up on them?
@ShogunRok The thought of you playing on an Xbox360 circa 2008 is a weird one to conjur.
I mean it could happen given the console popularity and your noted enjoyment of more western titles, the 360s strong point to a fault, but you dont strike me as a Tales guy.
Then again I believe everyone has some more niche game they love in their back pocket.
@get2sammyb i laughed lol
Never tried a Tales game before, so I'm looking forward to making this remaster my first. Hopefully I'll be done with Ys VIII and Valkyria Chronicles 4 by the time it launches.
Great game! Looking forward to it. I just need to decide what system to snag it on.
@Ralizah I'll be playing VC4 since day1 so we can exchange impressions ^_^ will pick this up eventually too!
@Feena Totally! I imagine I'll be talking about and playing this game exclusively for quite a while after it releases.
Played the remaster of the original on Steam earlier in the year and was really blown away by it. Granted, there was some jank and weird design oversights, but it was still one of the most memorable strategy RPG's I've ever played.
My favourite tales game, the story is good, the characters (especially the protag) is great, and the gameplay is great too (not too button smashy like berseria).
I remember hating the demo of this at first, thinking the combat system was awful and the voice overs were cringey. Thankfully I found it a bit more appealing when I tried it another time and when I did eventually buy the game I ended up loving it.
The moral of this tale is, buy the game, you'll love It!
i for one can't wait, i had the original on the 360 and i was right near the end of the game when my 360 died too so i have never been able to finish it which makes this and Zestiria the only Tales games i have played that i have not finished
also i was so peeved when i found out it was on PS3 in Japan as well and we never got it
I never played, now itโs my chance. The game looks great.
@Ralizah my favorite ps3 game!
@Ralizah VC finally a real New console release i loved the first one Alicia was so awsome.
@Feena Alicia was so awsome i loved the story. ๐
@Knuckles-Fajita I don't think the staff is banned from touching non-Sony consoles or anything.
I've been longing for this game and now it's soon here. Pretty crazy how much time has passed since its first release.
Give me a tales of the abyss remaster.....my favorite from the series
@PS_Nation Same here, I'm excited! I bought the 360 version last year but kept stalling from playing, glad I did.
