@Svark How similar is it in regards to it's predecessor? Hades is one of my favourite games of all time so I've been eagerly awaiting the switch exclusivity deal to end for it to land on PS5.
I'm surprised to see people having issues. It seems players are either crashing loads or having a smooth experience. Mine has fortunately been the latter. Experienced 0 crashes so far but I'm on fidelity so that might explain it. I'm very surprised they decided to add an uncapped framerate option. It sounds like a recipe for disaster.
@Psnfanboy79 I enjoy him. I made a roundabout build with him and went full ranged combat. Both musket and arrows mainly. Made him a lot more fun. Also tried to sneak around with him which was an added challenge since he's actively built to fail at stealth (ropes snap, his stealth kills are slow, etc)
Playing him as intended was just as fun, but only because I played him equally as much as Naoe. Switching up between stealthy agile assassin to brutal headstrong samurai made for a good dynamic and kept the gameplay fresh.
Say what you will about Ubi but they've really been showing love to AC in recent years. Great continued post-launch support and the free 60fps patches to their older titles is commendable.
@Max_the_German Personally I'm not engaging in anything Bungie related after how they handled D2 but I hope they turn their anti-consumer practices around with Marathon and make it last.
Half of this comment section can be dumbed down to the "stop having fun!" Meme. Hilarious how in the big 26 we still can't comprehend people liking and disliking different things.
Juggling a few games but primarily working my way through Resident evil 5 for the first time. Pleasantly surprised by how many similarities it shares to RE4 combat; I'm not sure why I've never played it! Guaranteed, the AI partner is absolutely awful and the story so far is very minimal. You can tell capcom wanted to nail the co-op feature and I'm sure it's quite fun playing with a friend. Punching zombies as Chris has yet to get old. After that, I'll move on to RE6 and see if I can push through it knowing all the criticism it has.
@lazarus11 Skyrim mods on PS5 have been using external assets for over a year now since modders found a trick to get them in. You can get whole new followers with scripts and external voice acting. I think Bethesda have kept quiet about it.
Nobody wants you to hate Starfield more than the people that haven't played Starfield.
Without taking into account we're on a Playstation Blog, the hate for divisive games is always much louder than the positive feedback.
Starfield has an 82 on Metacritic. It's a good game by critics standards, and a mixed game by user reviews (sitting at a 6.8)
Crimson Desert is a great comparison to this. The reviews have been middling, but the overblown criticism you'll see won't be from Media Outlets, it'll be from a large margin of people who have been told by their favourite youtuber to hate the game.
I'd like to highlight a specific quote in this article "It was only a matter of days before people were tearing it apart on YouTube — and it wasn't just the usual hate parade from no-name channels pumping out hyperbolic crap. I remember a number of content creators I had a real respect for calling it out as a huge disappointment."
We live in an age where influencers are intentionally profiting from covering controversy and as you said "festering hate"
I won't start a manhunt but just to name one such creator: Asmongold used to play games. Now he covers politics because his channel blew up from the controversy of it all. When he does cover games or media it's often controversial. He would not have such a following if he didn't place himself in this bubble.
Furthermore I think there's something to be said about media influencing our decisions and setting expectations, high or low, before we've even tried a product. So much weight is put on waiting for day one reviews and waiting for their favourite youtuber to form an opinion for the individual. I miss the days of playing games by yourself, for yourself, and creating your own opinion without the incessant, innate need to fit in to the majority opinion.
@Dalamar Do you enjoy doing the same copy and paste Castle camp 50 times in a row? Do you like some of the most inconsistent voice acting of all time? Do you want to change history by romancing Nobunaga's sister? If you answered yes to all three, then this is the game for you.
@SuntannedDuck2 Increased focus on supporting and publishing indie games would be great. Feels like that would greatly help balance out their first party studios that take a decade to make a game.
@Almost_Ghostly Pardon? It wasn't an insult, I'm saying what it was. Your comment was unnecessary and clearly there to invoke toxic discourse. Art is a creative medium, so different strokes for different folks. Heard a lot of people dunk on Starfield, and I've also heard a lot of people praise it as a good game. I just want a new Bethesda RPG. You don't need to yuck other people's yum, just keep the negativity to yourself next time brother. Have a good day. 👍
Countless layoffs and failed projects. Millions of dollars wasted on trying to capitalise on live service and reaching beyond their influence with mobile gaming. Sony needs a change in leadership.
@somnambulance Was never likely to play it and don't want to waste my time on a demo if the game isn't worth it, but it's a shame nevertheless to see unique indies like this miss the mark. Hopefully they're able to learn from the experience and come back stronger.
@Xodan Yeah seemed like good goofy fun. Haven't played as an octopus since octodad and that game was incredible. The co-op mode may have given me grey hairs though
My backlog isn't getting any better. 20 hours into a Persona 3 playthrough, and slowly working my way through all the resident evil games. With Starfield releasing in just over a week I don't have enough free time to balance all this lol
@JDINCINERATOR it's funny to me that hardline has more identity than the likes of 2042. Probably something to do with the weird operator approach they did with 2042 to make it akin to cod.
@wildcat_kickz It's worrying that I actually thought it was a serious take. It just shows how many crazy takes there are online lol, I've become accustomed to seeing statements like this
@Czar_Khastik What? CDPR are infamous for their buggy launches ever since TW1. TW3 launched laden with bugs, some of them game breaking. It had some massive post launch patches. I'm not sure if this is the best comparison lol
@lazarus11 PSSR isn't magic. If the game looked like a PS3 game fundamentally, then a bump in textures and resolution isn't going to change that if the models and lighting is outdated.
That being said I quite like ROTR and thought it was a good looking game.
@Balaam_ That's sort of the whole point of a horde shooter. It's an incredible full package. There's a short but satisfying campaign that can be done with two mates and a PVE multiplayer mode which they've been adding new missions to for the better part of a year. If you don't like Warhammer then fair enough but if you've never delved in then at least give it a go; the world is incredibly deep and provocative beyond just the "endless war" stuff
I think this is subjectively my GOTY due to recency bias and how short and sweet it felt BUT It would be Expedition 33 if not. What an incredible year of games. AdHoc cooked so hard with this game. I don't doubt that there will be a S2. I'm far too invested in this world and characters for the new IP to be left to die!
Not sure if it's the day one patch that caused it but the game is full of bugs on the PS5. So far I've experienced Audio stuttering, frame drops, graphical issues and most importantly 2 hard crashes that turned my PS5 off immediately. Before you ask, yes I do clean it regularly. I tried both fidelity and performance, didn't seem to make a difference.
