If you want to put the PS5 Pro's new PSSR upgrade through its paces when you've got the firmware update downloaded, then it sounds like Silent Hill F should be what you boot up first.
A technical analysis from Digital Foundry covering the PSSR patch calls the Konami effort a "transformed game" after it struggled with the original implementation of the feature at release.
The outlet calls the original attempt "one of the worst examples" of PSSR, but following today's enhancement, all of the graphical issues and Unreal Engine 5 flaws are fixed. "The pulsing RTGI is gone, vegetation and foliage rendering is crisp and consistent, while texture detail and characters and environments looks improved without sharpening artefacts. The noisy PSSR film grain-like artefacts are gone, with the kind of temporal consistency you get from the best upscalers."

Digital Foundry concludes: "It transforms Silent Hill F from a demonstration of PSSR's failures into a showcase for what the upgraded version can do."
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is another game that supposedly utilises the improved PSSR features well. Any graphical noise has been cleaned up and is now supported by "crisper edges, reduced aliasing in motion and in rest, with improved foliage". You now get 60 frames-per-second with even better image quality on PS5 Pro following the firmware update.
As for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, its improvements aren't nearly as noticeable, but you can still look forward to reduced noise and enhanced foliage. Meanwhile, in Monster Hunter Wilds, look out for better anti-aliasing and more stable screen-space reflections.

It's no secret I love Silent Hill f, I actually can't wait to replay it again with the 2.0 update but currently playing Fatal Frame 2 at moment, where you play as a teenage girl in a creepy Japanese rural village, wait a minute....
@Oram77 does the F is fun like SH2 remake? I adored SH2 remake. And does it scary?
I saw far, far, far more complaints about PSSR for the Silent Hill 2 Remake than I ever did for f. Not sure why a lot of sites are putting the PSSR 2.0 focus on f instead.
@amatmulisha F plays a lot different to SH2R as it's melee focused rather then guns. but honestly once you get the hang of the combat it's a good time, also the story is truly amazing, right up there with SH2 imo.
I enjoyed my first playthrough of F (that was some thoroughly twisted stuff) so maybe now is the time for a second.
Eager to see the Alan Wake 2/Control coverage. AW2 was astonishingly good, and the poor PSSR was a letdown. Fingers crossed the new update makes the raytracing mode viable.
Was this 2.0 patch the game’s itself or the general toggle?
@SystemAddict I'm not sure if anyone knows for sure yet. The new FW hasn't been pushed yet and there have been no updates to the games in question.
@Almost_Ghostly youll probably see more videos of silent hill 2 after tommorrow, I want to see if rise of the ronin is improved because it looked like a ps4 game
@Almost_Ghostly the toggle surely 😬 please just let it be the toggle, I see some mild resolution bump and shimmer gone. Probs lending to the overall more striking better contrast appearance…
@SystemAddict the official playstation website says if it has pssr the toggle will automatically make it pssr 2 , games need to have it originally hence the ac shadows and cyberpunk imminent upgrades.
@lazarus11 yeh so why not shadows and cyberpunk 2.0’d with the toggle update same time. This is getting confusing, I suppose only a few hours to wait and see what’s going on……..
Just seen the video. Looks like pisser2.0 is working a treat ❤️
@SystemAddict ac shadows uses pssr , cyberpunk doesnt so will need a patch , ive no clue either seems a lot of mixed messages.
Considering the general derision being shown to Nvidia's DLSS 5 showcase I sincerely hope later iterations of PSSR do not veer down that god awful route
@lazarus11 PSSR isn't magic. If the game looked like a PS3 game fundamentally, then a bump in textures and resolution isn't going to change that if the models and lighting is outdated.
That being said I quite like ROTR and thought it was a good looking game.
@Brundleflies21 Almost spit out my drink seeing how Grace looked. Wow that presentation was awful.
