Im sure its a great game, but Ive soured on new games overall. Ive got a huge backlog on series x and ps5 pro, but ive dove back into the premium physical retro gaming market again since I know those games arent going anywhere. (Currently playing through bonk 1 on tg16 and lufia 2 on snes, actual cart/card)

After 2 decades of all digital im finding I enjoy games more when its limited to one or two at a time and it just feels better to plug in that cart.

I have the ps5 disc add on, so Im sure ill be back to that eventually, but for now, simplicity wins. (And affordability, though lufia 2 was $$$)

@TheApe Id disagree with your opinions on these. I loved andromeda and veilguard, and inquisition was exceptional.

Got my pro day 1, sold my day 1 regular at that time. Glad I know what my used pspro is worth, probably even more considering it has a disc drive, edge controllers, and a 4tb ssd.

Just sold my series s for more than I paid for it at launch. Wondering if I should dump the series x and pa5pro to go fully retro. No real interest in much upcoming.(ie gta6 doesnt really appeal to me)

I bought a few of these during that window, would be nice to get some free money.

@RoomWithaMoose While Id love to see the actual investigative elements, I dont have time to do all that work for a video game.

I personally like the waypoints and icons telling me exactly where to go because it lwts me get to the story. I also like the linear set pieces because again, they are shorter and highly focused.

I think a happy middle ground would be the ability to turn them all off but have the structure in place to allow users to find things out.

I loved gta 5, and was always planning on getting this one. However its not a day 1 for me, Its more of "just another game" that happens to be shinier.

Pretty sure Ill hold out until the pc release as well, though if I clear the core of my ps5 backlog first that may change. (Or my series x backlog)

Given how I only recently(as in this week) touched my ps5 pro for the first time in 5 months, Id say the pc release is more likely.

As for the leaning into life sim, not a fan at all. If I wanted the sims with guns Id buy the sims and pretend it had guns.

Looks amazing, but the idea of micromanaging fuel and diet kinda ruins it for me. San andreas was my least favorite, and this has some of that vibe in it.

Ill probably wait for the pc release so I can play it on my xbox ally x. Nothing shown makes it a day 1 must for me.

That said, even as a long time all digital gamer, I support this movement. Ive actually started going physical again after almost 20 years of all digital.

The leaker probably could have gotten away with it had he hit n run. Doubling down is one thing, but he/she decided to offer up ad spots for 165k+ on his leaks.

Regardless of where they are, thats a line that probably shouldnt have been crossed and I imagine the fbi is now working with the eu to find and arrest this person.

Then again, with kash running the fbi they are probably just drinking vodka and laughing it off while bragging about teleportation.

Personally, Ive already given up on console gaming next gen due to the cost to value ratio being poor for me. (Ie I have other priorities that rank higher for my time and money) I still have my ps5 pro and portal; and until november Ill still have ps+ premium. The constantly increasing prices wont increase how much I buy, but it wont limit it either. Reality is ill just get less for the same amount of money until the gen dies. Xbox is in its own executive collapse, so my series x/s are in the situation. Only nintendo seems oblivious to the nonsense right now.

Ive had a portal(which I love) since its launch and an xbox ally x (which I also love) since its launch. Been looking for a way to remote play with an easier setup so i can sell off my portal. Ive got ps premium for another few months but I just dont really play much cloud streaming.

So does this app fully support regular remote play streams and is it easy to add as an app in the xbox os on the ally x? (Yes, Im trying to play ps5 and series x and pc games all on the same device)

I dont really get why everyone is so fearful of gta6. This is an indie game, and sales are far less likely to be impacted.

My 10 year old daughter was just asking me for this yesterday, as she loves the first one.

Ive no intent on buying or playing gta vi for a while, despite loving the last gta(and generally the series).

I know its silly to make assessments based on personal context, but I really think these companies are screwing up in moving everything regardless of target audience due to a single game. Its just going to create issues in September resulting in lower sales than if they had launched in october.

I have 0 faith in the saudi fund or private equity owning a large business via leveraged buyout.(or in general really)

They will do what all pe firms do, slice up ea, maximize profits, and eventually shut it down. Toys r us was a good example of this.

I know im done buying ea games and I buy a lot of them. (Annual madden buyer)

Either way, hopefully the devs all land on their feet.

I wouldnt expect it to. Most people dont buy games every month, and if they do, will it be only on sony?

I also expect the vast majority of people not to care about loss of physical.

That said, I have not bought a sony game since the show 26, probably wont for a while either. Not buying gives me the chance to play my backlog. (And anything that comes up on premium until it expires in november)

I havnt read into this deal much but it sounds like they are trying to toys r us EA by buying them with what amounts to EAs own money.

I've always been a multiplatform gamer, owning all consoles and pc. The value has constantly been lowering and its hard to justify even now.

With Sony going 1k+ and sharma at Xbox going for quick bucks, I am likely down to 2 platforms next Gen. PC and Nintendo. I have an Xbox ally x which is easily my go to, being easy to use and powerful enough to enjoy. That said, PCs are still not ideal for the living room tvs. They use kb + mouse and no hdmi-cec. Additionally, consoles were always meant to be affordable, they are not anymore.

So no coders at a game developer? Awesome! The future is here, AI will code the remaining ID games and we will all love them. (Just incase it wasn't clear, /s)

I was already out the next round, The costs are making it harder to justify a multi console home and Sony was always #3 for me of the big 3.

Helix is also on the chopping block for me at this point since I expect that to be $1300-$1500, which again, for me, is getting out of a value for the 3-5 hours a week I now have to play games.

Ill probably be down to just the xbox ally x I have now and whatever nintendo does next for my kids.

None that I know of, but pulling movies right before this announcement creates doubt in the security of your purchases. Whether its occurred or not is irrelevant as long as people think it could occur.

I know that decision impacted my trust in sony to maintain access to games ive bought digitally through them.

Ive been all digital for a very long time, but always liked the option of both.

My primary concern here is that Sony just set the bar by deleting movies that people owned. I personally am impacted by that deletion choice.

Whats to keep that limited to games with Sony? MSFT and nintendo have delisted things, but ive never really lost access to something I had already bought before.

With this in mind, along with the exponential increases in the hobby and the sameness of so many titles, I think the ps5 pro will be my last sony console. (I was already considering this, but this just piles more reasons to avois sony)

I thought the series x version was great, and I played 20 or so hours of the pc version on the xbox ally x with no issues at all.

Not really sure what all the issues are on the ps5 version, but it cant really be that bad.

@chatbot There is a difference between the two though, despite the convergence.

You can easily put a gaming pc in a living room with a tv, but hdmi-cec doesnt really work. Additionally, PC rigs are still much larger and unsightly to many of us. Then you have the need to configure the controller, or sometimes use a mouse and keyboard, things I never do in my living room.

To make the experience the same its have to be a true no setup, no desktop, small form factor, hdmi-cec compatible, controller only experience.

(I have a gaming pc I dont use along with an xbox ally x, series x, series s, ps5 pro, switch 1&2. I love my ally x, but never play even that on the big screen despite it being connected and having very nice rog mouse/keyboard for it)

I always expected 30 and as someone who isnt frame sensitive its a non issue. (Ie I cant tell the difference between 30 and 60)

@NerdyPaul I think the best bet for gamers in the future is some kind of hardware diversification away from AI.

Separate supply chains, though honestly I don't really see that happening. Apple and msft will likely create their own chip plants in 5-10 years, but that wouldnt be for gaming which just isnt as profitable.

At the core, stripping away everything, the real issue is a drive for profit over all. As long as companies choose money over other factors gaming as a hobby will essentially be left behind.

I don't even disagree with the concept of preordering, you can preorder the week prior and still get all the benefits. As well as that extra few dollars in interest. Might be trivial in Terms of amount, but it adds up over time.

You're giving them $80-$100 for a digital copy of the game in the future. There is no scarcity involved, anyone who wants to buy it will get it. So your basically just handing them money to collect interest off of or invest in another way that you could be doing the same with.

If it was a limited resource Id get it, but with the disc being a code in the box, everything is essentially digital.

I tried to like DOA 6 the first time it came out, and the core mechanics are still fun. However, it feels like one of those mobile games asking for money when you run out of whatever energy token they offer. It was garbage.

Reading this review makes me think they didnt change anything which leaves me at "meh" and gives me no hope for DOA 7.

@GenX79 Itll play best on pspro until the pc version comes out. Ill still get mine for my series x though over my ps5 pro since I never use my ps5 pro. The xbox ally x has essentially usurped any ps portal or ps pro use and its ease of stream to the series x just makes it a no brainer. Only thing that annoys me is that gtavi is not play anywhere.

Not surprised. Given the $3k 8tb ssd that was launched Im guessing that they are losing a lot per console even at the new price.

Im a big proponent of AI in the workplace, but as a consumer and gamer, Im not happy at all with the knockdown effects its having on prices.

I wish we had more integrated supply chains for the console manufacturers, or some level of differentiation in the components which made them use different components so as to keep prices more stable.

I have this feeling we'll see a base price of 99.99 for this game. They know they can get it. I cant see another reason for not announcing the price yet.

The rapidly increasing prices on hardware has surely also emboldened them.

Mana is my favorite game ever, and I love classics like illusion of gaia and landstalker, but dont have the patience for challenging titles anymore.

Im in the US so this doesnt impact me, but as a parent of an adult and a 10 year old, this kind of approach is annoying.

My 10 year old uses her tablet, plays games, does vr, listens to music, etc.. while also playing 3 sports, piano, getting all a's and is almost fully bilingual.

I dont allow her to have a phone or social media, but I dont want or need the govt to make the decision as to when she should be allowed to use them. She may need it for sports at 12 or 13 years old, I dont know, and the govt certainly doesnt know.

Most parents I know here are the same. No social media until they feel their kids are ready.

This entire age thing just seems like a boundary issue. If they really want to solve a problem, make it a crime for the parents if their children do something illegal while on social media.

I only play games on the easiest setting, so I was fine with the difficulty presentation.

Itll be nice for those who like a challenge to if they have a harder setting, so long as it doesnt take away from the overall experience.

Remember fable is a light hearted rpg aimed at a wide range of people. The series has always been on the easier side, with a focus on what you do as opposed to how hard it is to do.

I bought 2 of these and yotei was not one of them. After Tsushima I was burnt out on the entire genre. Its too samey for me now.

Even DS2, which I bought the collectors edition for, has seen under 2 hours of playtime and I loved the first one.

Mlb was samey too, though I did cave and buy it.

We need something more unique, lots of genres are fatigued. No idea what, but Im craving something special.

Easy solution is to just do what the publishers used to do for most of gaming history, delay the game in a region, in this case, south korea.

Submit it after you announce for approval and release it once its approved or rated.

Too much banter here. I subbed to gamepass from launch until the last price increase, its a great service if you use it. Ive subbed to ps+ for about the same period, its a good service if you use it.(ill be a premium member till november)

As a consumer, I will evaluate my options as they are available, and not bother thinking about the business logic behind it. I do enough of that at work.
