Re: PS5 Extraction Shooter Arc Raiders Is Looking Like a Hit as Servers Immediately Struggle

Nye1779

So after a few issues to get on at the start, once on it was a very smooth experience with quick matchmaking. Anyone worried about the pvp- it is there if you want to seek it out of but I played about 12 rounds solo and only downed twice by other players and extracted with strangers three times after using the emote 'dont shoot'. A few rounds I didn't see any other players even though I heard shooting, just love the world and exploring. The maps are great, particularly the sand map with building half submerged in the sand and paths through the ruined buildings. I'm not a PvP player normally but liked the world building so gave this a shot and am very glad I did, love it

@Stale-Bread Loved NBA street!! Ahhh takes me back to a simpler time....😂
It has four selected phrases on the d-pad: Good job, we got this, thanks, and sorry!!! It's quite basic, but does the job and you can click R3 to call for a pass.
I turned the mic and speaker off at the start, and only had two instances of people disconnecting when we went 2-0 down, but it's an automatic loss at 4-0 so you don't get smashed by people playing early from premium edition!
I couldn't get into rocket league so can't comment on that, but so far just playing with randoms it seems fine, but im sure that could change quickly!
I would be happy to play with anyone from here as I imagine it's a lot better if you can play with the same people on a team and just chat to them.
I'm not in it to climb the ranks, just thought it looked like a bit of fun and certainly get a great feeling from setting up or scoring a quality goal

Re: Mini Review: Rematch (PS5) - Fun, Fresh Football Game Holds Huge Potential

Nye1779

@Jrs1 I meant it bought back memories of playing fifa street for me. It does not have the levels of tricks, but that is a good thing otherwise no one would ever pass the ball!! From my few hours experience earlier, the best results came when the players trust each other and pass, can create some awesome goals. I understand it is not at the trick level of FIFA street, but I could see with playing time put in it could be great

Re: Mini Review: Rematch (PS5) - Fun, Fresh Football Game Holds Huge Potential

Nye1779

This is very fifa street for any fans of that. I had no latency issues all afternoon playing today- twice the ball seemed to stick to the pitch for five seconds or so, but rather than being annoying this was hilarious as everyone stood around trying to 'free' the ball! I was getting into matches within 30 seconds, had two people being very greedy but other than that seemed like everyone is learning. I don't normally play online games but this has been a pleasant surprise and nice to get in early. If they iron out the minor issues this could be a favorite for a while

Re: Mini Review: Rematch (PS5) - Fun, Fresh Football Game Holds Huge Potential

Nye1779

@ThomasHL Whenever a goal is scored and kick off is taken, the game switches who is keeper. You don't have to stick to it though, and if you have all gone up the pitch, first player back in the area magically gains the gloves and can dive and pick up the ball. Sweeper keeper is one of the selling points and having played for three or so hours today, it works really well

After the trailers for Silent Hill f and RE9, I have a real need to play a survival horror game!! Now just have to decide between Silent Hill 2 remake, Dead space remake or RE 4 or 8. Played both RE games before, so maybe one of the others for a new experience! Have a great weekend everyone

I'm about 8 hours into Clair Obscure and it is incredible. The options and depth you can see opening up for the combat is very exciting. Can't wait to play more. I was 70% of the way through last of us 2, and had played four hours of the metaphor demo as it is on sale but can't see either of those getting a look in before I finish Expedition 33!!! Glad I picked this over Oblivion- find it amusing this is getting a pass from people for being 'expectedly buggy' people get aggro at any game having small bugs in, yet Oblivion its to be expected so thats fine 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 565

Nye1779

I started playing F.I.S.T as it was on ps plus, and really enjoyed the few hours I played. Unfortunately Ender Magnolia then came out and that has taken over!! Didn't play Ender Lilies, but Magnolia is excellent so far. Recommended for anyone with a metroidvania itch. Have a great weekend everyone.

Having a break from the second to last boss of blasphemous 2, as he is quite tough!! Only a couple of attempts at each boss before this, but this one has stopped my progress completely. So a bit of star wars Jedi survivor and Dave the diver I think. I also have six eggs left to find in animal well so will have another look around for them.Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 528

Nye1779

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, it's beautiful weather here in the UK!!!
I got to chapter 8 in lies of p on Friday, excellent game really enjoying it although the first part of the puppet graveyard/swamp area was a bit of a slog!!!!
As a break from the sun yesterday I started Animal well to see what all the fuss was about and wow- instantly hooked. Amazing atmosphere, the confidence of the game to not tell you anything and leave to work stuff out brings a big smile and makes you feel very smart when you work something out. Loving it, lies of p will be taking a back seat for a while I feel!

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for May 2024 Announced

Nye1779

Tunic is amazing, happy for anyone that hasn't played it yet! I have nearly finished ghostrunner and nearly bought 2 when it was in sale recently so that worked out well!! Have a mate addicted to FC24 so might get thrashed by him for a couple of matches 😂

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite PS5 Game of 2024 So Far?

Nye1779

Put a lot of hours into balatro and it's dangerously addictive but playing it on switch whilst the family have the tv. I had to go with Prince of Persia though, put a big smile on my face playing that really enjoyed it considering it wasn't even on my radar!!! Final fantasy does nothing for me, and haven't played helldiver's but Prince of Persia is the best metroidvania I have played since hollow Knight

Re: Indie Hit Balatro Ups the Ante with Over a Million Copies Sold

Nye1779

I'm loving this game- bought it on switch and it is taking over all my free time!!! Works a treat on the switch, you can use the touchscreen and suits the handheld format perfectly. Happy for the devs and if they add extra stuff would be a bonus. For the price this is a bargain for me, certainly scratches the slay the spire itch

Re: Tekken 8 Patch 1.02 Out Now on PS5, Adds Cosmetics DLC Shop and Adjusts Characters

Nye1779

I have no issues with this at all- game has a massive amount of content for free and you don't need these items to play it, just let people enjoy it and buy them if they want. I agree it doesn't make the game worse, just gives people options. Some of the developers said Tekken 8 cost 3 times more to make than Tekken 7 and money made from the shop would go back into additional characters and story mode in the game so that's fair enough

Re: Tekken 8's First Balance Patch Is Out This Week

Nye1779

@Kidfunkadelic83 I know exactly what you mean! Quite impressed with myself in training, doing all sorts of fancy shenanigans. Then I go into a match and they start hitting me and I just forget it all... ,😂
I found going into a match with three or four moves to concentrate on help me remember them, rather than trying to do loads from the list at once.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 502

Nye1779

I happened to see risk of rain returns has come out on switch which I completely missed so bought that and loving it! Graphical upgrade on the original, loving it so far just unlocked a couple of characters and the music slaps!! Other than that, I am about half way through my first playthrough of cyberpunk and it's amazing- air dashing with the katana after setting off contagion on some fools will never get old, although I keep getting side tracked finding the cyberpyschos!! Have a great weekend everyone

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 495

I had covid (again) this week so wanted something that wasn't too intense so started marvel midnight suns I got second hand for next to nothing. Wasn't sure if I would like it with reviews mentioning a lot of 'friendship' guff between the battles, but having a blast so far! It's a bit cheesy but hasn't got annoying yet and the card battling/ upgrade system is very enjoyable. Bit of rugby world cup between sessions as well- Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 491

Nye1779

I was given some money for my birthday recently, so treated myself to a couple of new games- dead space, resident evil 4 and the pathless. Realized I had not played resident evil village since I got it on sale a while ago so jumped into that before 4, and gotta say I'm loving it- pacing is great, no section sticks around too long. Keep getting to a save point thinking I should stop, but maybe just see what is next and now about half way through in the last couple of days. Enjoy the weekend everyone!!

I have started Sifu this week. Bought it on sale a while ago but had not started it but with the big arenas update thought now was the perfect time. Loving the loop of trying a level over and over to my age a bit lower and the challenges in the arenas are amazing, with nods to matrix, the raid and kill bill. Just awesome best game I have played in a long time. Have a great weekend everyone!!
