Just under two weeks after its initial release, Tekken 8 is set to receive its first balance update. Patch 1.01.04 will drop on the 7th February, after server maintenance is carried out at 10:30 JST / 01:30 GMT / 02:30 CET / 17:30 PST until 16:00 JST / 07:00 GMT / 08:00 CET / 23:00 PST. Obviously, you won't be able to play online during this time — so make sure to get your Tekken fix in beforehand!
We don't have any patch notes to peruse just yet — all we know is that the update includes "balance adjustments and bug fixes". The latter means that this patch should address a number of weird in-battle bugs that players have been documenting since launch; stuff like specific attacks doing far too much damage under certain conditions.
As for character balance, it's still a bit too early to be demanding all-out nerfs, but a number of pro players have been highlighting potential problems. Characters like Jun, Azucena, and Dragunov have been in the firing line over the last few days — the argument being that they're borderline perfect fighters — so it'll be interesting to see what this update actually alters.
