During The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's recent livestream, developer CD Projekt Red mentioned an 'insanity' difficulty level that would act as the game's toughest challenge.
In no way is the mode finalised, but it does sound like an interesting potential addition. After all, the series is partially known for its often tricky difficulty, and this would give the more hardcore fans a taste of something even more intense. Indeed, the studio says that it's discussed the gameplay setting internally, and it would mean that death in Geralt's adventure would be permanent, as the title would wipe your save file clean.
Such challenges exist in other releases, but would you like it as an option when you're out and about witching? Get down and stay down in the comments section below.

I'm all for insane mode but I think wiping a save file is a little extreme.
If anyone took on that challenge and didn't end up throwing their PS4 out of the window after the file has been erased then they would have my respect and also pity of them suffering whatever disorder makes them enjoy such pain.
I play games on normal/medium setting and move on as I play for the experience rather than the challenge....casual gamer 4 life
Thats just silly
"Life's a witch". Very good.
Haha a mode I will never play. Casual gaming for me. I couldn't play knowing one false move means start again.
Similar to Diablo 3 in Hardcore mode. Very painful, but a good challenge!
Have fun getting that Platinum!
Haven't played 1&2 yet but looking foreword on 3s hardcore level love a challenge.....
while everyone looking for a hardcore difficulty, I'm here hoping there will be an easy mode for me..
I play practically all games in hard mode but I think Ill skip this one XD
Good luck to the guys who have time to start the game over from scratch but as munkyknuts has already said a spate of flying PS4's would be no good, would need to get air traffic controllers involved. Not for me, I like to Enjoy my games without launching them out of the window in frustration
I tend to agree with most people here, I would probably never play this as the stress probably wouldn't be worth it!
Still, may as well include the option for this who want it, right?
@Munkyknuts Same here...I always play games on easy or normal, unless playing on hard unlocks extra in-game content or makes it easier to unlock said content.
Example: Most of the Kingdom Hearts games are like that.
@ToddlerNaruto I played and loved Kingdom Hearts 1&2 but while I happily found all the missing dalmation puppies, got all the gummy blocks and all that, I balked at the higher levels of the coleseum and trying to beat screen filling Titans. That was when I was a care free and much younger art student...b*gger all chance of me taking on stuff like that as a 33yr old busy and barely sociably functional adult.
@Munkyknuts Ah that makes sense. I'm 26 but I don't have a job or go to college, so I have alot more free time for my hobbies.
I honestly had no difficulty beating the Colosseum when I was a teenager.
@ToddlerNaruto i recall being far more of a gaming badass in my youth...if platinum trophies had existed back then Id have some. Now sadly I squeeze in an hour or so of gaming a night...I fear that will vanish when I get to having kids. As it is I think Dragon Age: Inquisition will last me until around March. Even if I had more time Id still not push for challenges in games...I'm just too lazy lol.
@Munkyknuts Oh don't even get me started on being married or having kids. I still like to think I am a kid sometimes, hence my username.
I agree with you on being an awesome gamer when I was a teen though.
Laziness ftw...if PushSquare had a Couch Potato club I'd be the leader lol.
@ToddlerNaruto I still get into situations where I start to look for the nearest adult for help and then realise I work with children and the nearest grown up is me lol. I try my best to hold onto my childlike glee and joy in the world, but all the adult stuff keeps catching up with me. On the plus side I get loads of holiday a year....downside I catch all the germs kids are carrying and spend that free time wishing I was dead and oozing snot all over my PS4 controller
@Munkyknuts What's your job, if you don't mind me asking?
Sigh, I know right? It gets harder for me to "regress" back to a childlike state of mind with every year that passes by.
At least you have a PS4 though...assuming I don't get a job or SSI/SSD anytime soon, I don't see myself having one until Christmas 2016 honestly.
I work with children with serious behavioural issues and educational needs. Sadly I appear to be good at it so I'm more likely to make a living from it than as a world famous artist/illustrator lol.
I do have a PS4 but only because I got one as an overly generous Christmas gift. I find it harder and harder to do much more than watch Netflix on it tho lol.
That doesn't make it more difficult, it just makes it dumb to play
This mode was in the Witcher 2 as well. You can if you want, but it wasn't designed for it the way Fire Emblem Awakening was.
