Re: Schlock Horror Favourite Until Dawn Being Rebuilt for PS5, PC

MrSensical

One of my favourite games ever but all these choices seem ridiculous lol. The cinematography in the game was excellent, and a massive contributor of atmosphere so making it 3rd person could harm that a lot. Also an absurd amount of work to "recreate" what was already a gorgeous game, what, did the Decima engine not produce good enough visuals? Pfft hahah. Very cautious about this one.

Re: Following Embracer Shutdown, Volition Veterans Form New Outfit Shapeshifter Games

QA went down the toilet with the series as soon as the proper THQ went under. SR4 and Gat out of Hell were good but the bugs and jank and lack of polish was obvious, something that they seemingly couldn't shake for the reboot. Hope this new studio actually makes something to the quality standards that the series and games like it deserve.

It's so weird to me that this series WAS a triple A, big budget affair led by a team in their prime and then so soon after it just... Wasn't. It's shocking GTA hasn't really had a genuine competitor in the gap between 5 and 6. Big hopes for this new studio as a lifelong SR fan 😅

Re: Critical Darling Alan Wake 2's Sales Seem Soft, But There's More to the Story

First game had mid gameplay and didn't really do as much as I'd have enjoyed with its concept but the sequel is spectacular. I'm a little worried for Remedy as the game seems destined to be niche as it's a phenomenally weird experience, but with the Game Awards wins under its belt and the inevitable physical collector's version down the line (that I'll be a sucker for day 1) I think it'll have some solid legs, just as Control did after its commercially soft release.

Re: Blizzard Insists Overwatch 2's In 'Best State It's Ever Been' As Review Bombing Continues

MrSensical

Reading online discourse about this makes it so obvious who actually plays Overwatch lol. They just put out an update that's got more content than the base Overwatch 2 had. Absolutely fantastic stuff. Not everything's a hit in it (Flashpoint isn't very fun in my opinion) but this season seriously feels like they're swinging for the fences. New character's great, PVE is really fun (although the lack of skill trees obviously stings) and the game is just in a better state than it's ever been. They're turning it all around right now, pulling a No Man's Sky, but everyone's obsessed with the "Overwatch bad" narrative right now that they forgot to actually look at the game.

Blizzard sucks, without a doubt. The monetization is yuck. But being a player of Overwatch is GREAT right now.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Dated for 17th October on PS5

@KidRyan Yeah it'll end up getting a Limited Run/fangamer release for sure, it's just really sad a game from a studio of this calibre and quality has to go through that route. Remedy is such a great studio, they deserve better!

Re: Sonic Frontiers Speeds Past 2.5 Million Sales in Its First Month

I was so bitter toward this game before it came out (those previews really did look dreadful) but I was blown away by how much I enjoyed this when I got it in my hands. Got the platinum on both PS4 and PS5 I was enjoying it so much. I really hope they continue down this path and don't just throw it all away for the next game as I think they've got a winning formula here.
