Re: ARC Raiders Unveils Promising Extraction Loop in Gameplay Reveal

Marquez

The attempt to blend mission-based objectives and PvP extraction nonsense is going to make or break the game - as a longtime fan of The Division/Division 2 this does have me intrigued. ofc in those games NYC is as much the star of the show as the gameplay and the setting in Arc Raiders doesn't have me all that convinced - Fallout with car parks.

I'm not competitive when it comes to trophies but now my son has 12 more platinums than me... different story! Going through my completed games list to see if there are any plats I can polish off quickly, starting with Thank Goodness You're Here! and the mindless map clearing that is Assassin's Creed Mirage

@themightyant SkillUp definitely does go all in at both ends of the scale like you say. I liked that in this review he spends the last couple of minutes encouraging people who are disappointed by his opinion to go out and seek more positive ones, to help them determine if the game is for them. He never claims to be right, or the only opinion. That's why I always enjoy his reviews. Compared to the gushing review from Eurogamer it's an interesting contrast, with PushSquare's take sitting somewhere in the middle. Opinions, eh?

Re: PS5 Pro Showcase Set for Tomorrow, Hosted by Mark Cerny

If my launch day regular PS5 ever dies, I'll get one. And if it doesn't, I won't. I just can't get excited enough for this mid-gen refresh when, like many others here, I'm unconvinced the base model has delivered consistently to its max potential.

There's always the danger of course that the incoming Cerny ASMR will hypnotise me into a purchase...

Re: PS5, PC Disaster Concord Is Now Officially Offline Indefinitely

@Shigurui White people should acknowledge our privilege and work towards equality, we are already accepted and included as 'the norm' in society while others simply aren't, and have the responsibility and opportunity to raise those others up. I've looked at the roster and that's clearly the goal, which I applaud. Have a great weekend.

Re: PS5, PC Hero Shooter Concord Was in Development for 8 Years

I wish Newsk and the team all the best with this one - the keyboard warriors have been overly negative over a game that is at the forefront of Sony's much-maligned live service push, making it an easy target. The beta showed it has excellent FPS mechanics/bones and I hope they build a solid community.

I know I'm late to the party (and to this thread today!) but finally giving Death Stranding a proper go and I am having such a good time. The atmosphere of this game, driven by the landscapes and soundtrack is seriously special. Story so far, with the on the nose character names and dialogue are peak Kojima.

Well... I have the house to myself for the next two weeks while the fam are away and I already have backlog paralysis! I've been sitting here for two hours staring at my library and the GG app without success...

The plan is to clear a handful of games, focussing on those that are the best big screen experiences while I have the TV all to myself. I barely started Death Stranding and I have Alan Wake II in my backlog so they seem like a pretty good start.

Suggestions welcome, have a great weekend all!
